i don't think the songs are bad, i even think the girl who sang b.o.m.b has some potential to be really interesting, but they all sound so similar. i think they should really define what they want to do and how they want to do it instead of trying to please the algorithm, even if it means not getting as much interaction (though now that i think about it, gathering a large enough following with generic songs to then pursue more unique styles of music isn't exactly a bad idea). every artist should bring something new to the table.
i actually listen to quite a few of her songs but i also know they're pretty mediocre and similar. they're good dance songs to hype myself up, but nothing super noteworthy. i found her though through my favourite musician mothica since they're friends and have collabed. mothica is really good i think, sounds more unique in her recent stuff which is awesome.
I really like her voice, but all her songs are clearly meant to go viral on TikTok, and sound pretty much the same. Then again, even huge artists are being asked to make music specifically for TikTok, so I can't blame her for just trying that strategy.
i like the one at 30:00. its not super extremely unique but its the most unique one so far. like all of them sound good, it would be funny if someone was like “song of the summer!” and then go into heavy nu metal pig screams or smth lol

@@ar-yj8lb to add to that, like they mentioned in the video, it adds a lot of preconceived notions about what the song will be/sound like. And when it doesn’t, it’s even more disappointing
Idk if anyone else had this experience but I had a friend who would always show me their music and it was always mediocre or straight dogshit. I always ended up feeling like I was held hostage listening to their music. Then they ask what do I think and I usually make an excuse to dip bc it was just too much. The few times I gave my feedback they never took it into consideration so I was always like ?? That’s what these tik toks make me feel.
i had a friend in high school who was legit insanely talented in music, but even then it's always awkward just sitting there and listening to it lmao - that feeling of being "held hostage" is just universal. the best thing that kid ever did was mod some music into a game so we all just played the game together and occasionally said "this music slaps"
used to have a thing with a ‘rapper/producer’ and went thru what u did only intensified cause he would CONSTANTLY expect feedback from me seeing as how we were intimate 💀 he seemed to value my feedback bc he thought i have a good music taste, apparently it was one of the reasons he liked me so much, but it slowly became an ick and i dumped him lol. like u said, it would always be soooo extremely mid or straight up musically illegible 😭 to this day, he still makes mid music and is a struggling producer living on daddy’s wallet (i only know cause he reached out to me again after breaking up with his long term fiancée 💀💀💀)
KURTIS CONNER? I remember when you had less than 50k subscribers, which wasn't that long ago, and now you're collabing with Kurtis Conner? Congratulations man!
Yeah they're all cool with each other it's a commentary community- the editors and commentators are all friendly and chill together is this why everyone saying they're proud of him I'm proud of him too, but this should be a normal natural occurrence. He should be able to get people as cool as kurtis on his channel all the time because he's just as cool.
I don't know it seems backhanded to congratulate him on having a video with somebody because the other person is a bigger RUclipsr I didn't even go into this video thinking about it I was just like "oh cool people I know both of good for them"

I love Upsahls music, I’ve been a fan before she was an artist. I followed her on TikTok and was obsessed with her taking memes and singing over them, she was one of the first people to make those type of videos. She’s so cool.
Honestly, most of them didn't feel like "songs of the summer" to me. Maybe it's just me being weirdly specific, but a summer song to me should be upbeat and feel like I can drive around a scenic area or run along the beach laughing with my friends to it. Also, that girl with the country song manufactured an accent for the song?? Unforgivable.
Its been 11 months since this video came out and I watched it, but a few days ago I heard that one plastic therapy song come on at a Chili’s in Taipei and it was like a roundhouse kick to the face. I have never heard it or any of the other songs in this video anywhere before.
I wasn't expecting it, but i really loved the fact that you just listened to and fairly rated the songs, i'd love more content like this. Also the part where you french kissed Kurtis was pretty weird but overall good video.
My song of the year 2023 is definitely "free me" by anees, it's just an upbeat, groovy selflove anthem and is the most fun song to listen to I've heard in a long time.

These aren’t bad songs they just feel very copy and paste and remind me of like 50 different songs I’ve heard before. Also they sound kinda out dated like they’d be great for like 2018/2019 but now the sound is a little different
It’s the way they so confidently say “this is the song of the summer! Try not to get too excited” or whatever with their not even mediocre pop shit. That’s what makes it soo cringe. The overconfidence
aritzia is really popular in the US rn mainly like clean girl aesthetic you can find them in the US and not just major cities, so kurtis wasn't that wrong

8. rapper guy- only reason he’s all the way down here is cause i just liked the other ones more than him, i liked his too it’s just unfortunate that there’s nothing else to fill the gap in quality between his rap and the breakup nursery rhyme below lol rip
9. “F U then bleep”- god this song is like… it’s not even that bad but every time it does that spelling thing i cringe into the next dimension lmao plus i genuinely am not sure i understand the idea behind the lyrics lol, literally just an ABCDEFU copycat but i can still get behind it cause ik how it feels to be rlly excited and proud of a new song you’ve just made, even if it isn’t the best thing ever
i hated the f u then bleep song, but they got it all wrong, she’s saying fuck you and hangs up the phone
You are insufferable
YOURE AN ANGEL WHAT?
u have great taste!
that country one caught me so off guard i nearly choked on saltine dust
Right?? I started laughing so hard that I got into a coughing fit
I was so in awe my mouth went dry 😭 I swear I turned into a Magikarp for a second
I loved that one it was such a guilty pleasure banger
and the fact that the girl’s talking accent wasn’t even southern at all and then she completely exaggerated and faked it for the song
This reminds me of that "did I just write the next emo anthem?!" Guy
It’s nice to see people pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and putting their art out to the public. Regardless of if I like their music. Takes a lot of guts to do that especially on app like tic toc.
Maybe the real song of the summer is the friends we made along the way
Maybe the real song of the summer was inside of us all along
i don't think the songs are bad, i even think the girl who sang b.o.m.b has some potential to be really interesting, but they all sound so similar. i think they should really define what they want to do and how they want to do it instead of trying to please the algorithm, even if it means not getting as much interaction (though now that i think about it, gathering a large enough following with generic songs to then pursue more unique styles of music isn't exactly a bad idea). every artist should bring something new to the table.
i actually listen to quite a few of her songs but i also know they're pretty mediocre and similar. they're good dance songs to hype myself up, but nothing super noteworthy. i found her though through my favourite musician mothica since they're friends and have collabed. mothica is really good i think, sounds more unique in her recent stuff which is awesome.
That would be so funny lmaoo 😂
as someone that used to work at claires over the summer, all these songs sound like they’d be played in there 😭😭😭
Even h2h0e
Amazing video guys! Super entertaining and informative! i loved the part where saji waterboarded kurtis after kurtis confessed to robbing a family of six on november 8th, 1987!
i loved the part in the middle when saji and kurtis started making out to one of the songs lmfao great video guys
Such a cool video!! I really liked the part where Saji shined a Lazer in Kurtis's eyeballs and slapped the shit out of him while screaming "WHERE IS IT"!?!?! while Kurtis cried "I'LL NEVER TELL! IM NO SNITCH"! And then Saji kicked him until he bled to death😍 it was SO cool!🥺💖💖💖
Pls 😭💀
That plastic therapy song is not by the person in that tiktok, it's by an artist named Faouzia. Some of her other stuff is actually pretty good!
I was looking for this comment! I heard it I was like.... neow hold on.. that's Faouzia
Yeah no it sounded too good for TikTok
it’s so weird for that person to take credit for someone else’s voice tbh
oi that’s fucked up. i love faouzia
@@froggy5748 I don't think she is? she says "this is our new anthem" but it doesn't look like she's claiming it - she's just dancing to a song she likes
It's so nice to see Saji helping out small youtubers, hope Kurtis can make it big one day.
I feel like the H2ho girl was joking when she said the song of the summer thing in September and that makes it even better to me
music creators don't decide whether a song is 'the song of the summer' or not, the audience does!!!
upsahl is actually a real musician and she's really great! i saw her live a few years ago and i've loved her ever since, definitely someone to check out :)
I LOVE HERRRRR
IM SO PROUD OF YOU SAJI AHHHHH
I think for me the biggest thing is i don’t want a summer song to be about a boy or a girl or anything serious i just wan to straight vibe
Kurtis is ending Italiaphobia one person at a time.
as soon as that country ass song kicked in and kurtis's eyes widened I spit my fucking coffee all over my desk, I haven't laughed that hard in so long
I just wanna say, I found your channel recently and I adore the things you do. You're incredibly funny and a big inspiration to me. I'm really excited to watch this video. Thank you.
I'm genuinely so proud of yo Saji. keep up the good work and take care of yourself
It's the song of the summer in Australia, tyvm Kurtis. The summer is in full swing down unda
kurtis looks more like luigi in every video
Saying you wrote the song of the summer sounds so conceited tbh
Like just say "I wrote this song and I'm really proud of it"
There’s nothing wrong with calling it the song of the summer
@@XiaoIsMyHusbandBTW no there's nothing wrong with it if you don't mind sounding up your own arse
@@XiaoIsMyHusbandBTW I think it kinda overhypes it, it's like saying you made the best song ever, it's setting people up for disappointment,
@@ar-yj8lb to add to that, like they mentioned in the video, it adds a lot of preconceived notions about what the song will be/sound like. And when it doesn’t, it’s even more disappointing
@@XiaoIsMyHusbandBTW i feel like its meant for the listeners to claim that not artist
i didn’t know kurtis had an italian twin
My goodness. I wish I had like half the confidence these people have in their own music… maybe they had supportive parents haha
AAAAA SAJI AND KURT?? JUST WHAT I NEEDED TODAY 🫶🫶🫶
the last one's mix was so...... like her voice was almost drowned out
I found so many bops in this vid. No matter if they’re somewhat the same as most songs, I’ll still enjoy the hell out of them
The song of the summer is obviously gonna be "I'm so hot" by Chrissy Chaplecka
YEAHHHHH god bless chrissy chaplecka
1 month late but hard agree
Idk if anyone else had this experience but I had a friend who would always show me their music and it was always mediocre or straight dogshit. I always ended up feeling like I was held hostage listening to their music. Then they ask what do I think and I usually make an excuse to dip bc it was just too much. The few times I gave my feedback they never took it into consideration so I was always like ?? That’s what these tik toks make me feel.
@@drchipmunk3247 i think OP meant the person showed them music they had made, not just music they liked?
i had a friend in high school who was legit insanely talented in music, but even then it's always awkward just sitting there and listening to it lmao - that feeling of being "held hostage" is just universal. the best thing that kid ever did was mod some music into a game so we all just played the game together and occasionally said "this music slaps"
@@aud7593 ahhh totally misunderstood/misread. Will be deleting my c*nty comment. Thank you for explaining!
@@drchipmunk3247 nae bother my friend! if it had been just music the person liked, I 100% agree with you, this would be a weird response hahaha
used to have a thing with a ‘rapper/producer’ and went thru what u did only intensified cause he would CONSTANTLY expect feedback from me seeing as how we were intimate 💀 he seemed to value my feedback bc he thought i have a good music taste, apparently it was one of the reasons he liked me so much, but it slowly became an ick and i dumped him lol. like u said, it would always be soooo extremely mid or straight up musically illegible 😭 to this day, he still makes mid music and is a struggling producer living on daddy’s wallet (i only know cause he reached out to me again after breaking up with his long term fiancée 💀💀💀)
Kurtis wrote and sang my favorite song ever, Blood Related, I think he won a CMA for it
Me 🤝 Saji
Growing our hair out and getting it buzzed at the same time.
I just noticed Saji and Jarvis has the same smile.. so nice of them to share and take turns like that
KURTIS CONNER? I remember when you had less than 50k subscribers, which wasn't that long ago, and now you're collabing with Kurtis Conner? Congratulations man!
Yeah they're all cool with each other it's a commentary community- the editors and commentators are all friendly and chill together is this why everyone saying they're proud of him I'm proud of him too, but this should be a normal natural occurrence. He should be able to get people as cool as kurtis on his channel all the time because he's just as cool.
I don't know it seems backhanded to congratulate him on having a video with somebody because the other person is a bigger RUclipsr I didn't even go into this video thinking about it I was just like "oh cool people I know both of good for them"
@@Atlasintokyo Uhh, we're congratulating him for becoming well known enough that even Kurtis Conner knows him?
@@Nic_17175 exactly, like "backhanded", wtf?
Most of these songs are giving me "changing room at Kohl's" vibes.
that first one wasnt even BAD it was just.... a song. you know? like yeah, thats a song alright! shes not talentless and she clearly enjoyed her creation but its just not........... as magical as she made it seem. anyway im gonna finish the rest of the vid and pray that they arent all garbage!
edit: not b.o.m.b being in this cuz i unironically love the singer, she has some good tracks HAHA
last edit: okay so like most of these songs arent even bad! nice to know my ears arent ruined!
i also love emlyn! i was super excited to see her here LOL have you heard mothica? they've collabed!
Living in Australia it’s summer here already so really counting on this video to find a song to jam to for the next month 🙏🏻🙏🏻
WOOOO FELLOW AUSSIE
IM LITERALLY SOOOO IN LOVE WITH THIS COLLAB I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH OH MY GOD
the way kurtis lights up as she just BLASTS off 🤠🫡 34:23 that reveal killed me 💀
man i was in such a horrible mood and then i got a notif of both of my favorite youtubers collabing AAHHHH
I love Upsahls music, I’ve been a fan before she was an artist. I followed her on TikTok and was obsessed with her taking memes and singing over them, she was one of the first people to make those type of videos. She’s so cool.
so excited to finally hear the true song of the summer
for anyone wondering abt the f u then bleep ladys instrumental, it sounds like fast car by tracy chapman
THANK YOU SAJI & KURTIS LOVE U GUYS
Honestly, most of them didn't feel like "songs of the summer" to me. Maybe it's just me being weirdly specific, but a summer song to me should be upbeat and feel like I can drive around a scenic area or run along the beach laughing with my friends to it. Also, that girl with the country song manufactured an accent for the song?? Unforgivable.
So happy I got my invite to Kurtis's annual beach party!!! Shame that Saji wasn't on the list tho 😕
Its been 11 months since this video came out and I watched it, but a few days ago I heard that one plastic therapy song come on at a Chili’s in Taipei and it was like a roundhouse kick to the face. I have never heard it or any of the other songs in this video anywhere before.
I'm living for this colab. 🥰
Saji, your hair. Omg. It’s the look for you. I can’t look away. I love it so much.
He looks 13 years old
just Saji & Kurtis constantly forgetting that the southern hemisphere exists
upsahl’s music is actually super good. i saw her when she was opening for a small artist in 2018 and her first few EPs are banging and her album slaps
I wasn't expecting it, but i really loved the fact that you just listened to and fairly rated the songs, i'd love more content like this. Also the part where you french kissed Kurtis was pretty weird but overall good video.
When a song proclaims it's the "song of the summer" it's basically saying the same as when a nice guy says he's a "nice guy"
My song of the year 2023 is definitely "free me" by anees, it's just an upbeat, groovy selflove anthem and is the most fun song to listen to I've heard in a long time.
Saji I think your hair has been growing in reverse again!
for me Pale Waves- Television Romance is *the* summer song, it's not like it has generic summer song traits; it just feels like summer to me:)
i haven't watched this whole video yet but my idea of "song of the summer" is the married life song from up. that's just what summer is to me
this is the collab of the winter
AS SOON AS I SAW THIS VIDEO I SCREAMED I NEEDED THIS COLLAB SOSOSO BAD FOR THE LONGEST TIME MY ACTUAL TWO FAVORITE RUclipsRS
You guys are a LOT nicer than me.
SAJI KURTIS COLLAB AND IT'S 41 MINUTES DAMNN
the only people getting me through this break up is you guys

I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY THAT YOU'RE GROWING!!!!! It's just so cool to see bigger south asian youtubers :)))
These aren’t bad songs they just feel very copy and paste and remind me of like 50 different songs I’ve heard before. Also they sound kinda out dated like they’d be great for like 2018/2019 but now the sound is a little different
i feel like there’s a space for it, i definitely know artists who put out this style of music to this day
It’s the way they so confidently say “this is the song of the summer! Try not to get too excited” or whatever with their not even mediocre pop shit. That’s what makes it soo cringe. The overconfidence
aritzia is really popular in the US rn mainly like clean girl aesthetic you can find them in the US and not just major cities, so kurtis wasn't that wrong
As someone who's worked at an old navy I can firmly say a majority of them give old navy playlist vibes
i love this type of awkward humor. it genuinely makes me chuckle. also i'm so looking forward to y'all's country collab 🔥🔥🔥💯💯🤠🤠
so happy to see a saji and kurty squirty video
(my roommate gets credit for the nickname)
I always thought a song of the summer was something that could be sung by everyone young and old
surprised neither of them made a joke about the B.O.M.B song by saying “this song is the bomb”
I love you two so much, both of my comfort RUclipsrs collabing??? Hell yes!!
20:18 I think ppl always film tiktoks in their car because it’s probably the only place they can be alone. Filming urself is kinda embarrassing so u don’t wanna be around people in public, at work, or at home while doing it. Even in ur bedroom u can still be heard by family members/roommates. But that’s just a theory a game theory.
i absolutely NEED kurtis to know that aritzia isn't just in canada i know a lot of people order it online in the U.S. too but the whole thing led to his identity crisis and i just need him to know he was right the first time
I think there’s some in the west coast as well, I remember an aritzia in a mall I lived by when I lived in seattle
UPSAHL is such a good artist, I was so surprised to see them mentioned here. They got some fire music overall. Highkey recommend.
Great video! You guys have a great dynamic. I did find the summer jokes extra hilarious as it is currently summer in my country 😂 But keep it up, guys!
Kurtis' skin looks flawless
OH MY GOD I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SAJI X KURTIS FOR SO FUXKING LONG BRO LETS FREAKING GO
