Thank you for your videos! It helped me to get some busyness and somebody famous found me and I did alter her wedding gown. Her seamstress won't touch a lace. Thank you again!
Perfect as always!!! I have sometimes added tulle and lace apps to those "strap backs" mirroring the original design after just taking the sides in and swallowing the back. But only when I've had lace apps that matchy match....lol
Bridal Sewing Techniques Yes. It works great and taking in the sides is usually the best option for the bodice. And the great thing is they never know. Lol.
Brenda - I am, thankful for your sharing these videos. I don't want to alter bridal gowns for a living! It is too stressful! However, I am often asked to help friend's daughters with theirs. What amazes me is how you never use pins! I am working on a gown right now - and I see the price tag and I gulp! (yep!) it makes me very cautious abt making a mistake! My question: What if the new stitching line alters the arm opening - do you just reposition the lace strap? Or take more from the front bodice and less from the back? Yikes. I'm stuck!
Hi! Thanks for watching! Can you slide this question over to my instagram DMs? I think I need pics. Thanks!! I also usually need to respond with sketching. I'm @bridalsewing on there.
I dont understand how you attached the front bodice with overlay to the back overlay. Im trying to figure how to do that. Do you have a video of assembly on that?
How do you take up side seams when the back is lower so the seams don’t match up. I have a gap where the back fabric isn’t long enough. It’s a low cut back bridesmaid dress.
You'll have to ask me this in my instagram DMs. I can't answer without a sketch and description. This question isn't going to be able to be answered well in yt comments.
Any advice??? Really having a hard to with a open backed lace gown not fitting snug to the front and no where to take it in without loosing the straps on the back of the shoulders 😞
Aww that's sad! Email me. (Info on my website) & shoot me some pics. If it's complicated & takes a while, I would have to charge a fee. But, most of the time, it's no big deal & there's no fee.

Oooh, I see. So, kind of like making a new strappy back. That sounds like a good extra trick to have in my bag! :) thanks!

When you say taken up is that the same as takin in?!!
I do use them interchangeably sometimes, yes. ❤️

What do you mean to sew a "TAB" seam? I see you sewn the pinch, but do you trim it or leave the bulk???
It is just sewing the pinch. & no we don't trim it. It's easily reversed this way.

How do you let out the underarms of a tulle wedding gown with off the shoulders sleeves
You can either use the seam allowance they give you, or sometimes you can use a small, diamond shaped gusset.
Any advice???

And have you looked at the vid about fixing a gaping back? You may have to dart the back as well.

No worries; I'll reply & then u can attach. :)

Do you have a video on shortening the bodice back of an illusion back gown?
Not yet. But I have footage. It is coming! :)
