Hey guys! Its been a while but I m happy to bring you all this vlog on the beautiful Lunuganga estate. I have a huge love for history and architecture so this property has been a place I’ve been wanting to visit since I was a teenager and I was soo excited to finally be there! I hope you guy love it as much as I did. Should I cover more Historical and Architectural sites like this? 😃
Hey Sheneller! We would love to see more content about architectural sites, would you be able go in depth about Lanka's history about handicrafts and ceramics too if you could? I would love to learn more about that and our history of artistry. Thank youu
I'm a retired Architect from Australia. Many years ago I met Geoffrey Bawa in Sydney. He was commissioned to design a Hotel to be built in Fiji for a company I worked for. He was a true gentleman and a brilliant Architect. I stayed at Lunuganga in 2016. My partner and I visited as many of his works as we could whilst touring lovely Sri Lanka.
very happy hear that. I am an Architect living in Australia. I inspired my Architecture by Bawa style. He was our external lecturer. Lucky to had talk with him. He was humble person like his designs.
I have lost count of the times I have watched this video. Every time it gives me goosebumps. It is like the BBC series, "Through the Key Hole", if not better. Credit goes to person behind the camera, the editor & the BGM. A vlog of international standard. Hats 👒 off.
This comment gives us goosebumps Anthony! Many thanks! 🤩🤩 All our productions to date are filmed and produced entirely between my fiancé Shehaan & I so seeing a message like this really does warm our hearts!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
We're going to be traveling from Mumbai to Sti Lanka this Diwali, and no matter how much we tried cramming into our Itinerary, we always end up finding more treasures to discover Sri Lanka more. This resplendent video gives us another opportunity to expand our Itinerary to soak in this beautiful and culture rich part of Sri Lanka that we will surely hold dear to our hearts for years to come. Thank you, thank you 😊
The way she explains the heavenly creation of Geoffrey...it makes it even more authentic....thank you soo much for bringing such amazing inspiring content like this❤
The best architect ever in Sri Lanka. I have visited almost all the hotels in Sri Lanka which has done by him. Such a great personality. Thank you for showing these.
Thanks a lot Gordon! This was a super special one for us to document and it did take quite a lot more effort to produce. But we are glad we gave it our best 😁😁
I am a fan of Geoffrey Bawa...thanks for this journey, I would never have seen this amazing expression of his creativity if not for your touching video, especially this interview with someone who knew him...thanks a million.
I'm an architect who studied in SL and now living and practicing in Australia. Still, I love Sri Lankan architecture and enjoying it every minute of it when I can. Thanks
Hi..I am an after A/l student..im in a hard situation to select computer science or architecture for my higher studies. I Like those fields very much..can you please describe me about a lifestyle of an architect and opportunities for oversea job opportunities.thankx
I am Bawa minded in heart and have always loved his work. It is my dream to one day have a property of this nature in Sri Lanka, of course in a a very scaled down version. Frangipani trees, courtyards, rain pattering on the gravels, tropical foliage, all.
A Palmyra Table in the story of Geoffrey Bawas Art, People who saw the Value of Palmyra. We start our journey to Light up Palmyra Again in Sri Lanka. Join us with a smile. Thank you Mrs. Sheneller for this documentation. Greeting's from La Palmyra Developments in Mondo.
This young Lady has produced and directed an exceptional portrayal here Excellent content, a great historical reference, fine editing, good camera angles and pleasing background music, frankly difficult to fault.
I'm an architect and we have studied many of Bawa's work as students and still we learn something new if we visit them again. The beauty of it, is how his work immerse in to the context and the landscape. Even decaying components and materials, slowly consumed by moss and foliage and being exposed to heavy rains and the scorching sun and dust and insects for ages, have a subtle beauty of its own. The most important thing is that no matter how much people want something alien to the land designed and built somewhere, nothing ages gracefully and stand the test of time like something that relates to the natural context so closely. Thank you for the fantastic video.
I bear no malice towards this lady who narrates the story in this nice video but I would like to say that in the latter part of it she looks like a pretty fairy in that housecoat/bathrobe (whatever, you call it) in a haunted house. You and your team have done a splendid job. Good Luck to all of you!
I've always been a big fan of Geoffrey Bawa's work and serene places like Lunuganga Estate. The most appealing element of this vlog to me is your presentation of it Sheneller. It was just right! You blended in like sugar and tea and brought in an authentic Sri Lankan vibe the same way Geoffery did with his master pieces. Thank you for making us experience the feel of this museum through your presentation. Loved it!!
Thanks you so much for your kind words Isuru! it really does encourage us to do more when folks like you appreciate the effort put into these videos :)
