MARTIN THE ROBOT MACHINE RETURNS!!! I knew “he’d be back”. It’s what robot machine’s say when they leave important people. His shirt proves he’s a robot. It’s exactly what a robot would say.
Such a cool project! My Great-grandfather was on a train almost to New York to ship out to WWI when the war ended in 1918! When they got word about the war's end, they put all the soldiers on another train heading back home to Texas! Man... using that rail track for this project is so flipping awesome!
Just received mine and a friends along with the 50 cal center punches. BROOOOO! From the packaging to the product these are the absolute coolest gifts I could have ever got for friends. Thank you so much for the quality work and the excellent videos. I know it’s way more work than most people will realize, and it’s very much appreciated! Much love from Texas.
Tim you stole my heart with this one. Wow. Just ordered one and so happy to be getting one of the first! Following you since the beginning, and just seeing where the production quality of your videos has gone has just been amazing. Hello from just over in Sudbury Ontario!
As soon as it dawned on me that this was not just for you, but an actual product, I paused the video and rushed to your website. So glad I got to grab one. I'll have to figure out once I get it whether it's a gift or a gift for myself :) edit: Uhhhh what Martin?? OK def a gift for myself these are something special.
That's an awesome deal. I'm in the US that beautiful piece of art for around 150$ is an awesome deal!! I just found my Christmas gift. Awesome lighter and one day I'll get my hand on a beautiful black hawk hatchet
As always Tim your aesthetic is impeccable. I’m also always impressed with the way your mind works around tooling. You’ve gotten incredibly good at building a great system of tools over the years I’ve been watching! Keep The Forge Lit
I collect Trench Art. I clicked on this video because I was hoping to perhaps get some ideas about how to repair some of the trench lighters that I have at home. Not far in, I cried foul because those things were made, by hand, often with improvised tools, by people that were doing it out of boredom in between bouts of mortal terror, and this is not that. Surely, this is nonsense! It wasn't. The amount of care and attention that you put into these is beyond question. I'm beyond impressed. Well done. It maybe wasn't what I thought it could be, but it's bloody fantastic. Carry on, please.
This is going to make an amazing Christmas gift for my friend and myself once a couple of checks hit the account. Love the look and the bulk to make it a bit less flimsy than the ones sold elsewhere. Something i am willing to spend that extra money on knowing it wont break easily if at all.
I am soo excited you did a pre order, im JAZZED to finally own something youve made here in the near future, ive been looking for a good lighter. This shall take the cake im sure.
Tim this lighter is epic! So happy to see this video in time, immediately ordered one. Greetings from a Dutch blacksmith, will keep the forge lit in the future with this awesome piece 💪
A 4 jaw chuck is my mortal enemy....I don't care how important they are in a shop....made me so mad once I shed tears and I ain't NEVER forgave them!!😂😂😂😂 I'm really not a drama queen I swear
Im currently studying to become a mechanical engineer, I felt like an engineer developing a product for the first time watching this, keep up the good work 💪🫡
I remember learning about zippos and not just how they’re made but tips and different ways you can make em work. You can stack the wix within the saturated cotton differently. You can tweak your wix twine as well. From material and how woven tight it is.
Don't put yourself down as a machinist. I was impressed. All those ex-centric holes and surfaces - it looked GOOD (and unreal) when you turned that. 👍👍👍
Need this. I carry an Exotac TitanLight and it’s machined so incredibly well that it’ll hold fluid for…? 8 months plus? With very little evaporation. However, it’s a little too large for every day carry, and, while I certainly appreciate the functionality and the aesthetic, the latter leaves a little bit to be desired. Along comes this badass piece that essentially checks all the boxes for me. Hitting the site now
I love the design and historical elements. I would still like to see a version that allows for one-handed operation so you'd need to devise a system that allows for the removal of the cap and a detention system. A simple thumb-post off the side of the cap could be pushed up and off the lighter and in that post could be a cord or chain that attaches it to the lighter's body. That might require both hands to re-cap it though or some dexterity to manipulate the chained-cap back on. As a "trench lighter", one-handed operation would seem useful, maybe even necessary. But clearly there's a whole century of invention that 's taken place to address these issues but straying from this form factor. I hope to see you evolve the design while maintaining the original spirit. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Cheers.
BTW, I bought one of your knives.. Holy, it's Niice! Definitely buy one if you're going to use it for work. it's better than anything else I've seen for the price and even better than ones for a lot more too.
Is the windscreen also acting as a heat sink, drawing enough heat from the flame that it is inhibited? You did get it to work by allowing more air to reach the flame so it is no longer an issue. Most commercial lighters use stainless steel which is a relatively poor conductor to protect the flame. It is a beautifully wrought idea. Thank you for sharing.
An absolutely beautiful design Mr. Tim. Loved this project, keep up the amazing work and happy early thanksgiving! Not sure if Canadians celebrate but hey happy happy anyways!
The wick needs frayed! More surface area for the fuel to evaporate AND catch a spark easier! It'll make the base of the flame larger leading to the entire flame being bigger I also think them getting warm is also a pro instead of a con, in the winter time i carry a zippo so I can let it burn for 2 or 3 minutes and it works as a hand warmer
You made an amazing product here Tim, and for a good price. I don't smoke or have much need for a lighter, but I still want one. Will Stelter is making cigar ash trays, yall should collab on a gift set 😅
You guys are crushing this! 💥Thank you! 🙏 🔥
Tim. That lighter is Sick!!!!
Sold out before I even saw the video. Rats.
Is available now.
@@TimothyDyck content get one of the first round, but ordered for the next. Great product
Ordered after watching the video on Nov 16 but didn't pay attention if it was preorder or first batch, any way I can know? @TimothyDyck
Gorgeous !!! Beautiful product!!!

What kind of machine? I could say that my body is a machine, but it is a machine that turns downloaded PDFs into unread PDFs.

First time I’ve ever bought anything on RUclips. Super happy with the purchase
The offset drilling was mesmerizing

Thank you so much for the quality work and the excellent videos. I know it’s way more work than most people will realize, and it’s very much appreciated!
Much love from Texas.
this is honestly really refreshing video style, no trending songs or timelapse, its a long form video with minimum commentary i like it a lot
Alright, now we need one the size of a Coleman Thermos!
That’s an awesome idea! It would be flame thrower! Haha.
Martin showing up is always like Christmas
Tim you stole my heart with this one. Wow. Just ordered one and so happy to be getting one of the first! Following you since the beginning, and just seeing where the production quality of your videos has gone has just been amazing. Hello from just over in Sudbury Ontario!
Just got mine today! Couldn’t be happier with it. Heirloom quality for sure
First time I see you, that lighter is so gorgeous that I just picked one blindly, plus very pleased with the low fees to Italy, cheers!
I see Martin is as vocal as always. Great to see him
I don’t know what Martin’s been doing while he was gone, but I know he’s been working out. Holy hell those arms!
I was able to order one, can’t wait to get my hands on it!
*Timothy Dyck* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless. (( Ordered mine, thank-you ))
Martin! Hi! It's very good to see you! I hope you & your family are well! Wow, Martin!
This lighter idea is excellent, Tim!
You DEFINITELY took the parts to the right guy for machining!!!🤯
This place absolutely killed it…!❤💪🏼🔥🔥🔥👍🏼

Beautiful! A gorgeous design and build.
Stellar work as usual! Put in a order for 1, looking forward to when it ships. Thank you Tim
👏 epic product launch❤ well fricken done👍and a great way to showcase how much R&D actually went into it👍 so cool
Nice job using the lathe as a broach. I always like to see tools used in a way that was not intended.
Very cool project! You aren’t just a blacksmith Timothy, you are an artist 👍
Definitely the first time I've seen anyone use a lathe as a broach :D
Man, you guys did an excellent job. Top-notch product.
As always Tim your aesthetic is impeccable.

That's the coolest video I've ever seen.
love the video, thoroughly mesmerizing first few minutes. Gorgeous lighter.
Absolutely love it and i have to have one. Ordered as a little Christmas present for myself.

Lighter looks amazing. Gorgeous craftsmanship.
Beautiful job on the lighter. I think building a trench knife to match would be amazing.

Great idea and beautiful craftsmanship as usual.

Still waiting for mine to arrive, ordered it on November 25th. Maybe it is built when you order. Can’t wait to get it in my hands.

3:19 O.........K......!! That is definitely the most inventive tool setups I have ever seen!!!! 😂😂😂
That lighter came out looking fantastic!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Super cool. I ordered one immediately
Very cool combination of old and new! I bought one!
This is the best ad-read I’ve seen. 👍
Master machinist/CADCAM programmer here and I love this 😊
I just bought 3 lighters thank you for making these.
Threaded sleeve is huge, these sometimes get loose over time and leak fuel so that was a great addition.

Preorder is up!
It’s beautiful!
I love this. Thanks Timothy
Holy crap, welcome back to the forge Martin. Also i must have one of these lighters
Hell yeahs, the TerMartinator!
This is absolutely beautiful. Maybe my favorite piece from you so far.
That’s a piece of art.
Super slick!
Great job man
Beautiful & inspirational!
Very cool!

This is just about the opposite of a trench lighter in every possible way
Odd question, but what’s the shirt you are wearing at 7:02? Not the jacket, but the shirt under it.
These are awesome.
Beautiful design. Only change I'd make is an O ring on the lower sleeve so no chance of leaking in your pocket
pretty hecking awesome man !!!!!!
Quality Idea L00Ks Stunning ... And Ya Mate Martin PoPs In Quality ... All The Best With It...
peace
My birthday being only a few days away, having 1 of these lighters would be too cool. I need 1.
i was thinking, man i wonder what Martin is up to. then he appears. 😊
Needs a larger flame hole. More space for the air and fuel to mix. I had a similar problem
Always worth a like! Keep on trucking man.
I am so happy I stumbled onto this video, incredible work! Subscribed!
An absolutely beautiful design Mr. Tim. Loved this project, keep up the amazing work and happy early thanksgiving! Not sure if Canadians celebrate but hey happy happy anyways!
Love it! I’m gonna have to buy it
Thanks for use of four jaw chuck 🎉🎉😊😊
Why does the drill bit on the lathe "ride up" when first contacting the pilot hole @2:23?
Very cool Tim!
The wick needs frayed! More surface area for the fuel to evaporate AND catch a spark easier!
It'll make the base of the flame larger leading to the entire flame being bigger
I also think them getting warm is also a pro instead of a con, in the winter time i carry a zippo so I can let it burn for 2 or 3 minutes and it works as a hand warmer
Martin smells a good thing when he sees one…💪🏼🤣🤣🤣🔥😎
Order placed..hopefully get to the uk before Xmas.
You made an amazing product here Tim, and for a good price. I don't smoke or have much need for a lighter, but I still want one.
Will Stelter is making cigar ash trays, yall should collab on a gift set 😅
Can someone please remind me why the 1918 train rail is so special? I love the lighter! Looks awesome!
Very good looking lighter
Just ordered ❤
SILENT MARTIN !!! 👍
Suggestion bro, try make wrought iron Macbook docking stations! that'd sell! I certainly would buy one!
Love this it’s so cool
These are great, so bought one! Keep on thinking these things up, very creative and love your thought process?
So awesome! Almost makes me wish I smoked! lol
I collect lighters, mostly Zippo's. But I'd love one of these!
Ordered one before the video ended. Our postal system might make things difficult with the postal strike. May need to keep that in mind.
