@@RogerPope-q9q it was massive. It’s like having a house in the back of the truck.

Hi, my name is Stewart. I'm using my wife's RUclips channel. I have actually been questioned by a Virginia state policeman regarding camping with my slides out. Yes, that is correct. If you have your slides in and you're at a rest area or you're at whatever you're considered resting and they'll leave you alone pretty much. But when you pull your slides out they'll come over and they'll ask you questions saying well. You need to put your slides in cuz they're a kinda in the way. Again, this was in the state of Virginia. I've never had that problem. That was with my motor coach 22 newmar ventana motor coach my truck camp. I have an Arctic fox 1150. I can use it without the slide in or without the slide out. Whichever all right. It's a beautiful camper though. The mammoth is Big but my artix Fox actually weighs more. I believe my truck campering is right now sitting at about 5,500 lb on my 2024 Ram 3500 crew cab long bed dually with the factory air ride and it's okay. I did have to buy some King very high dampen hydraulic shocks and my ride has gotten way better!!

While it may best to go to a 5500 I have a 2012 triple slide chalet TC on a 21 3500 Ram Dually with 5550 payload. Over 12,000 miles hauling it. Handles fine.

4400lbs dry, no way would I put this on my 3500 dually, best to have a 5500 n then no worries about loading her up. But i'm done with slide maintenance, so she's nice to look at, but not for me 😂. 🍻

@@SpykersB I 100% agree. It’s always better to have more truck than needed so you don’t have to worry so much about the payload or what you put in it. Items add up quick.
I’m like you, I had a fifth wheel with 4 slides and it seemed like we never stopped working on something with it.
I love my AF865 with no slides for that reason.

@ lol i had a 5th wheel too! 42ft, 5 slides, maintenance from hell, thus am sooooo sick of slides. Yeah and that's why i too like no slides, truck campers 😂. Small world eh! I ended up getting a Northern lite couple years ago. I fell in love with the AF 1140, but ugh a slide n it's too heavy for a 3500 imo, n i was horrified when i saw a 1140 actually on the same truck as mine 😱. So then I was seriously considering AF no slide when i literally stumbled upon the NL on the dealers lot that had everything I wanted, I wasn't even considering em, went and looked and poof, it was marriage lol! was meant to be 😂. 🍻
