I'm a technician myself and had to repair my own pixel 6 pro screen a few months ago. Thanks Soo much for this info. I didn't bother changing the finger print scanner at the time but considering Google's fingerprint calibration tool still isn't working on there website I'm gonna get some T700 and a few other tools for at home and get my old screen and bring the fingerprint sensor over and hopefully get finger print scanning back.
Hi All hopefully this helps, if you bought a geniune screen here are the instructions on how to get the tool working. the issue is fastboot mode requires a different driver that isnt native to windows and isnt available via windows update. Step 1. Try connect using instructions here > pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps If it works, Yay! if it doesnt proceed to step 2. Step 2 > Download the Google USB Driver Zip (developer.android.com/studio/run... extract the file to a known location Step 3 > Go into Fastboot mode and connect your phone Step 4 > Open Control Panel > Device Manager > Other Devices , Locate the device with the error message , Right click and Update that driver Step 5 > Browse my computer for Drivers Step 6 > Browse the location you extracted the Google USB Driver to and Next Next Next Step 7 > Browse to pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps and try again It should work, the issue is Fast boot appears to use a different driver then the primary OS (which makes sense) the only issue is you cant install the driver until you are in fastboot mode and that isn't mentioned anywhere! @@MrSwaggernaut83 It's a clip mechanism that's on the original screen, this makes it to where you only have to clip the screen back, instead of using glue especially if you have ruined the fingerprint scanner in the process.
I'm looking at buying and replacing a 7 pro screen. I'm sure it will be the same procedure to replace the digitizer. However most suppliers sell two flavours of screen replacement... One with frame and the other frameless. Is there any reason why we should opt for the framed digitizer which is usually only a little more expensive??

so let me get this right you didn't want to detach the screen without unplugging the battery first? even though you're replacing the screen anyway. 🙄 I'm replacing a pixel 6 screen in a couple of days my son broke it a couple of days after we bought it and I hadn't replaced it. it's been months. course I tried to turn the power off by holding it in but I couldn't tell if it was ever turned off it probably just burnt itself out. I enjoyed the fact that you actually show what you're doing and not skip a million steps. I actually watched mini videos on screen replacements nobody shows how they apply the adhesive. 😭
Can it pell off if theres a gap between the camra lenes it seems i may have a extra screen on it i had an 8 i manaaged to loose and it naver had near as a thick screen or gap hole in the front face camra please help me friend
My pixel pro screen was flickering since couple of days with cracked screen but today while charging it. Just turned off all of a sudden... Any reason why? Will it be just the screen or more than it?
As someone who literally JUST dropped their Pixel and hit just right to destroy my screen. Thought I would look up how to repair thinking it would be simple like repairing my Lumia 1520. Yeah, forget this... I'm gonna pay someone to do it and hope for the best.

You forgot to transfer the snap in brackets, with them you don't really need t7000 especially if the fingerprint reader will be replaced.

Ifixit has genuine ones apparently. You want to get genuine, some others only run 60 hertz I hear.

You can turn it off with the power button… you just need to hold down power button and volume up then you get the option to turn off
You didn't pull the black plastic frame from the broken LCD and transfer to new one . I see the new LCD has no frame.
