I am so glad I came across your video! So inspiring and just what I needed to know I GOT to get my mind right and put me first. I have 6 kids and a husband who made it into the medical field already so he has little time to help. I have GOT to get my time management TO-GE-THER!
Ma’am!!! I have the utmost respect for your impeccable style on studying nursing materials. You provide great advice. You would be a great nurse educator.
Some accountability: I am starting my RN program in Jan 2025 and I am more mentally prepared after pulling out earlier this year one week before my start date. I graduated my LPN program with a 3.0 GPA in 2021. I did do study guides but took way too long to start studying them. Writing them up as soon as I can is the key. I've already started studying Dosage Calc at home. Getting organized. Thanks Nurse Dezi!! xo
My marks where too low and I was kicked out of my nursing program I didn’t know passing wasn’t a 50 and average needed to be a 60, I was devastated and didn’t know what to do so I took engineering and I struggled but I became a better student going through this program when I went to nursing the first time I had to go two hours outside of my city because my marks. I have just got back into nursing in the most competitive school in the city. I am starting in two weeks and the key for me has been my goals not to just pass but to excel. If you go into school trying to get by you won’t succeed in my opinion you will cheat and slack off and you give yourself no wiggle room for mistakes. Making time to study and giving your best effort will go a long way and you will be able to achieve academic success I am so ready to do good in nursing I feel confident and my mindset is completely different than the first time I also got sober because that was a big factor in my lack of success in the past also I strengthened my faith which helped me get sober. I am watching this video because I want to be ready I don’t want to be caught off guard anywhere in the program, thanks for posting this it really helped me get into the right mind for nursing. Great video.

Congrats D! Thanks for the Black Girl Magic study tips. You are going to be a phenomenal nurse. Just the fact that you were a PCA/PCT, you will be able to empathize with your coworkers. If time allows it, you will be able to assist with PCA duties. Or, if you are short-staffed (which happens quite frequently), you can handle it alone! thanks again!!
