It is a good list. This coming from a goalkeeper for over 25 years. I have seen everybody in live action except for Yashin and Marzukewicz. Every decade had its hero. To me it was Dasejew (or Dasaev), who copied a lot the style from th no.1 on the list. But I understand the ranking. I am missing Michel Preud'homme (a better goalkeeper than some on the list) , jan tomaszewski (Poland) and Thomas N'kono (the best Africa ever had). Good thing there is no room for clowns like Chilavert or Higuita.
I neither have your experience as a spectator (83 I've seen my first matches) nor on the pitch (only played in Juniors as a GK for about 8 years). Nevertheless I always had a soft spot for the GKs and watched them closer than most fieldplayers. And I agree with you that most of the names in this fine Top20 that I've seen play, would make my list too. My initial thoughts going through the list were, Dasajev too low, and Preud'homme missing as well. As Dasajev was a childhood hero of mine, I thought I might can't rank him properly. Glad somebody knowledgeable agrees with me. Another guy from this era I liked alot and would consider Top20 is Hans van Breukelen. It's tough to judge a player fairly, you've only seen play beyond his prime. Probably N'Kono and certainly Shilton would fall into this category for me. Shilton, I only remember as old, slow and being in general terribly unathletic. He wouldn't make my personal Top100. And Im certainly way off about that in the big picture. One thing that always puzzles my a bit when I see these alltime GK rankings is, why is Casillas mostly ranked extremely high? (Nr.9 is already quite modest) I don't want to put Casillas down. It's a genuine question. I mean he was a very good GK, but just not Top15 for me. He surely has all the trophies. And in his prime fast, mobile, agile, excellent reflexes and a very good jumper. But physically not strong enough and too light and thus not stable enough in the air to savely catch high balls in high traffic situations with risk of body contact, despite being such a good jumper. Which quite often lead to chaotic situations. Not unlike Barthez. For me he always had troubles to install this aura of total bossing of his zone, where every challenge has to be well though of, or the physical price you pay could be severe. IMO a must to be considered among the very, very best. Quite a few GKs in his time were better footballers too IIRC. Do you agree, partly or fully? Or am I totally off?
It is necessary to underline the good work that you put in your videos on the graphics and the staging but afterwards I am sorry to tell you but your ranking of the first 2 Top 20 are not good. Casillas in the 9th is an insult, he has plenty to be in the top 3 whether by his performances, his titles won and his outstanding skills as goalkeepers, even Buffon himself considers Casillas as a goalkeeper superior to him.
Pat Jennings & Peter Cech should have been ranked much higher. Also where is Canadian & former NY Cosmos JACK BRAND? NY Cosmos HUBERT BERKENMEIER & SHEP MESSING could have been honorable mentions.
first, the balon d'or debate should not even exist, Gk should not ever be in contention with other players, its a diferent sport for them, its utter absurd. Rogerio Ceni should be in top 20. he holds many records, not just goals. also, i may have missed casillas prime, but i have seen some really terrible performances by him (2014 world cup for instance). I have not seen that by neuer or buffon at any point of their careers.
Lev Yashin is the GOAT of goalkeepers. He is the only one who won a ballon d'or and he also invented most of the goalkeeping techniques. I really think he should be in top1.

Good list - and can’t disagree with the top two. But I would definitely put Banks at #3 ahead of Schmeichel and Neuer who benefited from playing for great teams year in and year out.
You can't really go wrong with Yashin as the best because he set the standard for modern goalkeepers but for me Neuer is the best ever who should've been the second ever balon d'or goalkeeper in 2014.

(Nr.9 is already quite modest)
I don't want to put Casillas down.
Casillas underrated 😢
Walter Zenga, Ricardo Zamora & Jose Luis Chilavert can discuss in Top 20
Funny how your prime card of Manuel Neuer is worse than his actual best regular rating of 92 in 2017 xD (same for Buffon)
Valdimir Bears belongs in the top 20
The greatest goalkeeper was Vladimir Beara from Croatia (at that time Yugoslavia). Even Yashin said that Beara was greater then him.
Iker Casillas is the greatest goalkeeper of all time
Top 5
correction for neuer, he failed once to win the Bundesliga, in his first season with Bayern in 2011/12
However, Neuer is one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, no doubt
It is necessary to underline the good work that you put in your videos on the graphics and the staging but afterwards I am sorry to tell you but your ranking of the first 2 Top 20 are not good. Casillas in the 9th is an insult, he has plenty to be in the top 3 whether by his performances, his titles won and his outstanding skills as goalkeepers, even Buffon himself considers Casillas as a goalkeeper superior to him.
Buffon himself considers Casillas as a goalkeeper superior to him?! Are you sure?
Neville Southall, Bert trautmann ???
alisson becker left the chat
So where's ray clemence spot i. This top twenty fixtures???😮😮😮😮😮😮
Gigi Buffon has retired so it's 1995 -2023 :(
Pat Jennings & Peter Cech should have been ranked much higher. Also where is Canadian & former NY Cosmos JACK BRAND? NY Cosmos HUBERT BERKENMEIER & SHEP MESSING could have been honorable mentions.
Boffon then yashen but I Agree otherwise
Im italian
But yashin over buffon
@@moonlight-wp8lq Neuer > all.
Casillias is in the 9th position !! he should have been in no 2 or 1 he is probabely the greatest GK !!!
Once again I was about to criticise your use of the word "ever". But you got it right by naming Lev as the best.
Were is Tafarel? Chelavert? Sergio Goicoichea?
Henry, Weah and Ronaldinho should make the top 20 list. My GOAT is Pele with Maradona and Messi joint second
Iker is always no 2 after yashin
Lev yashin is the best goalkeeper of all time
Extremely bad list
first, the balon d'or debate should not even exist, Gk should not ever be in contention with other players, its a diferent sport for them, its utter absurd. Rogerio Ceni should be in top 20. he holds many records, not just goals. also, i may have missed casillas prime, but i have seen some really terrible performances by him (2014 world cup for instance). I have not seen that by neuer or buffon at any point of their careers.
My Top 10 personally is:
1. Yashin
2. Buffon
3. Neuer
4. Zoff
5. Casillas
6. Banks
7. Schmeicel
8. Maier
9. Kahn
10. Shilton
Bro I think you go wrong Casillas in number 9 and Oliver in number 7 and other seriously
Yashin? You gotta be kidding me, totally overrated...
bruce grobbelaar should be there
Casillas been way too disrespected these days
Casillas should be higher ngl
Where is Jorge Campos?
what about ter stegan?
I'm not so focused on who is where but more so why he put them there ...
How about Vitor Baia?
And the dibu martinez ?
Lev Yashin is the GOAT of goalkeepers. He is the only one who won a ballon d'or and he also invented most of the goalkeeping techniques. I really think he should be in top1.
I thought edwin ban der sar is higher
Neuer is the best Goalkeeper of all time
Vítor Baía?
This doesn’t know football first putting Ronaldo number 4 and casilius not too 5
neuer should be 2nd
Casillas is top 3 wth
This is so rigged
Casilias and Kahn not top 5?
Bro khan is atleast top 5
Germans 🔥
Bit bad time dobersity. If there are two modern German goalkeepers then should be Rixardo Zamora in top 20 to represent pre war era
Congrts for video anyway
Thanks for watching 😁
Good list - and can’t disagree with the top two. But I would definitely put Banks at #3 ahead of Schmeichel and Neuer who benefited from playing for great teams year in and year out.
Iker Casillas no 9?😆😆😆
Iker Casillas deserves 2nd position!
Shut up please i love is video!!!
@Emeka Mbaoma he isn't saying anything bad about the video he's saying the list is wrong
@@emekambaoma-qh2uhbro he is spitting facts
You overating casilas
And understimating kahn too much
You fr putting casilas over neuer and buffon?
@@moonlight-wp8lq yes
