Home schooling is massively underrated. Providing that the parents have got their heads screwed on. A few of my friends homeschooled their children until secondary school age. The kids are fantastic and super intelligent. Head and shoulders above the kids in their year at secondary school. These kids are in safe hands and what a fantastic life they've got ahead of them

I cannot believe that you live the van life with your children. I think that is amazing indeed. My take away from your wonderful video is not to be worried about what others might think of you. Brilliant and honest video. Thank you and all the best for the future
If you're happy living your soul's lifestyle and parent as you see it best for your kids, who can judge you? No one! This is called life. Instead of surviving of corporate slave.
I live on a boat schooling is no different to a van or a shack in the middle of Africa, but ive done some odd living in my 60 yrs but never with kids you have my admiration you are great people and more importantly great parents.
Oh wow, I feel glad to hear what they say to family & friends. We have such strict ideas of what a family and a home must be. We are told what we should be doing and how we should be living, but this family ignores all that and manages just fine.❤
This is the first video I’ve seen of your family. I think that homeschooling our kids was the best part of our life. We did a lot of traveling with them but we had a sticks and bricks home. We homeschooled our 2 kids all the way through highschool. Our daughter is homeschooling her two sons now. I think you are doing an amazing thing homeschooling and traveling like you are. I wish you all the best.
Brilliant. They've found the right attitude to life at a reasonably young age which they will pass on to their kids. Some people never find that. They don't strive for more. They're just happy being in the moment. Well done you 2....Gold Watch Blues by Donovan. A song that speaks volumes. Worth a listen
Are you thinking of going further afield? I dont kmow what your finances are like but I can absolutely say that you would love New Zealand. The scenery is fantastic, its got a mild climate and we are multicultural. Yout children would love it here. We have mountainns - with snow -fjords- golden beaches, beautiful lakes, and you would love our Maori songs, stories and dance. Also a laid back lifestyle. We dont rake outseves too seriosly.
Wow! I cannot believe how much vicious judgement y'all get just for choosing your family's best life! Your van is great; your simplicity and joy in each other, and the world around you is a breath of fresh air. People complaining about no privacy maybe don't realize how many families with small children all end up in the same bed by morning anyway. Many families even choose to have one giant bed, as families have slept for millenia. We just went from a 700 sq ft one bedroom home, to a 450 sq foot studio flat, and our daughter gained a "room" (a slightly enclosed nook) of her very own. She jumps on her bed sometimes, occasionally sits to read or play with soft toys, but she stlill chooses to sleep and play in our bed. In my case, I love it, as I recently became bedridden, so it means more quality time with her. She has seen me researching van life, and now really wants to live in a "van house" 😊
It is the first step to becoming liberated i guess.. knowing that people actually begin to hate you just for making a positive choice for your own family, and learning to not let it bother you. Beyond that is freedom i guess!
Lovely video! Great to see a family already doing what we're hoping to do! Our daughter is three and we're planning on buying a van to go travelling and are also co sleeping and home educating following child led learning 🥰
Lovely video, well done to all involved, and thanks for sharing. Sam and Jon, giving your time and energy to your kids, rather than to a boss/ corporate entity, is a really wise, enlightened, choice, and the greatest possible gift to them both. Wishing you all the very best x
Good on ya me fellows. We're somewhat the modern era, westernised, insane world, aware and humble gypsies.. I removed the water and gas from my van. I live with just a log burner. Id like to know how they cope in winter where you can open your door at 10.30 and close it at 14.30 if not you freeze. The daylight ours are about 5.
I guess there’s pros and cons to both seasons, in winter the days are shorter and we like getting in cosy with a movie on early and the kids settle down to bed a lot easier which is nice because then we get some time to ourselves.
