I miss Charlie, as well....what a great person and guitarist he was. I was fortunate enough to get to spend some time with him and emailed with him frequently in the two years before his passing. One of the last times I saw him perform was during his stint with the Allstars. In that show he dedicated an instrumental jump blues song to me. That meant a lot coming from Charlie. Your music lives on Charlie!!!
Little Charlie Baty was soooo good. So underrated. Thanks for this! Awesome history lesson! Great lesson! Can’t get enough! Especially on a Joe Pass ax in a Kiss t-shirt! 😜😂😂 you da man Damian!
5:47 Wow....great!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍 This run is awesome, and also great is the lick at 5:51, i heard it on Jimmy Bryant and Les Paul records, but I never found out how to play it.....now the mystery is solved..thank you so much for this great lesson!!! 😊
Hi Damian, I always look forward to your posts and always Tab them out to try against the BTs, always well explained , an inspiration to all of us , thanks
Hi Damian - I'm a guitar player living in Glasgow, Scotland. I love your channel and enjoy the way you present this type of guitar. I've learnt lots of stuff from you. I've got a Joe Pass signature Epiphone similar to the one you are playing except the toggle switch is on the lower horn - do you know what the significance of that is - a different manufacturer maybe?
I always enjoy your lessons, Damian. I love the music styles you present. And your inspiring words at the end of this lesson, are some we all should live by. Thank you.
In the 90s I vividly remember seeing ads for it in Guitar Magazines and I had always wanted one. So glad I finally picked one up a handful of years ago. It's a great workhorse and I think its a great looking guitar as well :)
I helped Charlie load in to Buddy Guy's Legends club on a rainy night. After we got inside I told him, "When I hear you play, I wanna saw my guitars in half." He replied, "No, no! Don't do that! Just give 'em to me..."

Beautiful as always!
I used to have an Epiphone Joe Pass--and, foolishly, I sold it!
Of course, I never sounded even 5 percent as good as you do!

That T-Bone lick definitely made it's way into "Johnny B. Goode".

Charlie Baty had certainly studied Django in depth, he was a true scholar! That four-bar intro would also make a nice turnaround, wouldn't it?
Thanks so much for watching. Cheers & keep on rockin' :)
I was hearing Voices of Spring from a Three Stooges episode ( MicroPhonies)
Had to look that one up. Yup, I can hear it also :)
Charlie Baty❤
