@@SimpleGuitarDotCom I'd agree. I also found "Go Play Along" which allows you to sync the tab to the song and do the same thing. The Advantage to that is, you can work on the nuance. I.E. @Simple Guitar Well, since you asked :) I downloaded a bundle of files they offered for free on their site. But, only know how to upload one file at a time. Is it possible to upload a bundle at once? I am still intimated, and haven't used it much. But, that's the question I can put into words.
New to guitar pro! really great video that has lifted some of the confusion so many thanks! one question so when you have found a song either in the songbook or UGT where do you save it? Is it saved within Guitar pro or on your computer? Hope the question makes sense
i noticed your big playhead "cursor" is always ahead of the audio by about a note or so. And so is mine! do you know if there a way to get it to sync, as I find it very distracting that the cursor is always ahead of the audio.

Hey Alan! I literally made a guitar pro 8 video this week, but there were problems with the audio so it didn’t work. I think im going to go live Monday evening going over it all.
where do you get the tabs or music sheets from if you use GP only? it sounds like we need GP and UG subscription to get music sheet and GP is just player editor. is that correct?
You do not need a UG subscription. You can get GP tabs for free from UG. You can also find things at guitarprotabs.org or gprotab.net or gtptabs.com or even you can subscribe to GP's mySongBook here: www.guitar-pro.com/c/18-music-scores-tabs.
Hi! That’s a great question. I’m not aware of a way to notate the body hits on a guitar in guitar pro 7, but they just released guitar pro 8 so I’ll be getting it soon and I’ll look into it. My first guess would be that you might be able to use a different voice for it. On each track you notate you can set up up to 4 voices (just like with choir where you’d have bass, tenor, alto, soprano). That way you could have one voice set up for the more regulars guitar playing (which you can easily notate if something is tapped) and another voice for the percussive parts. Or you might need a separate track for the percussive parts. Let me check into this and I’ll get back with you.
Fantastic and much clear tutorial. I am a keyboard player and wish to know where do you know of a piece of software with quite similar comprehensive features designed for piano/keyboards as Guitar Pro. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks
Thank you! I think Sibelius or Finale are kind of the gold standard for piano, but you can actually do piano in Guitar Pro as well! Most of files that I find with piano in it are done terribly because they’re usually made by guitar players with no idea of how piano notation works (like using only a treble clef staff instead of the grand staff), but you can notate piano correctly using Guitar Pro
Too bad the speed settings increments do not work the same with the metronome. I use that or I create a basic drum track in GP 8 to play as my metronome
Well it is quite similar to Songsterr, except Guitar Pro is a more standalone program rather than just web based. And it's not a video game like Rocksmith. I've never played Rocksmith, but I teach people all the time who come in frustrated from not getting anywhere with it. Guitar Pro 8 is more just a tool that you can use that can help you learn songs, transcribe your own songs, & make your life easier. My dad tells me about when he was learning guitar it was listening to a record & then re-setting the needle over and over and over and over and over to learn something. Guitar Pro can be used to help make it faster & easier for you to learn guitar. Hope that helps!
@@SimpleGuitarDotCom As a complete beginner Rocksmith helped me tremendously in learning being that it's alot easier to read than tab but it lacks theory.

The default 70% -> 100% in 10% steps is ridiculous, surely hardly anyone uses that. You should be able to save custom loop settings to one-click buttons.
I can't get past that awful tone. For making tab though GP is fine but it prints small and the legend on the left is too small too. It needs work. I simply use YTube. I can slow that down all I want. Once you know the key and have tabs that are close, you should be able to learn a solo- focus on training your ear which is a skill that is often overlooked. I improvise my lead all the time. I can play 1,000 notes in a few minutes- no way I would ever memorize tab for that. Recognizable solos do require more precision. I have a few of those down, but prefer improvisation, instrumental and the blues since it lend itself to a lot more free playing.
You can adjust all the style and stuff for printing. I'll have to do a video on that. I'm glad you've got a system that is working for you! Sounds great!

wow, I hope you move A LOT faster in your lessons with students. I think you need to take a pedagogical class or two to up your teaching skills. I've got a degree in comp (composition) and classical guitar, and the pedagogy classes i had to take helped me understand the music lesson from a students' perspective. An immense skill to know, learn and understand. Just because someone has a guitar, and has some knowledge of that instrument, does not mean they should, or can even teach that instrument correctly. It kills me to see the megalithic amounts of very bad RUclips “guitar” teachers. I hope you beginning guitar players try to understand why there are few, if any, piano, violin, cello, oboe, sax, etc teachers on RUclips. These people understand the complexity of music lessons as well as the art of music performance teaching. They instinctively know RUclips/Internet is not the best place for most lessons. For some reason, guitar players think they're musicians just because they have a guitar and have a few chops, and can then teach. Much like the person who buys a camera, learns a few skills, and suddenly they fancy themselves as artists. wow, just wow.... 15 minutes to explain tempo practice. It should not have taken more than 5 minutes.
Cool. Go make your own videos then. And thanks for your comment, it helps tell RUclips to show my videos to more people. Thanks for helping spread my videos further!
If you are not "PRO" musical, do not buy this piece of crap software... it's can't transcript your melody mp3 file to the tab automatically... when you use this scam software it will make you feel like: you play CD player and you take a piece of paper and pen to write your melody of you hear from CD player to paper manually...😐
