  • In this video I show you how to troubleshoot a Samsung dryer that shuts off mid cycle. There are a few things that will cause your dryer to stop while it's running. It may or may not start back up after it shuts off before the end of a cycle depending on what's wrong with it.
    Here is the video where the control is on, but still won't start

    Hey! First off, I love your videos! I have a dryer similar to this one but it is a GE. My dryer stops spinning and drying but all the numbers stay on. To get it to start working again I can turn it off and wait a few minutes then turn it on again and we repeat this ^^^ for about 30 minutes, or I can bang on the top of the dryer and it will start working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Just adding my 2 cents here. Before any disassembly, I would recommend cleaning the two moisture sensors, especially if you use dryer sheets. The sheets create a film over the sensors and they trigger the dryer to shut off early. To do this just wipe the sensors with kitchen scrub pad (or lightly with a fine grit sandpaper) and wipe clean with a damp cloth. The sensors are on the lint filter assembly (they are two long silver sensors. When wet clothes rub across them they short out and this tells the dryer that the clothes are not dry.

    Learn from my mistake. I jumped to the worsts case and replaced the motor. Had the same problem. I cleaned and checked EVERYTHING!! Well so I thought. Turns out my ground wire was loose. One turn of a screwdriver and problem solved. My dryer is 9 years old so the motor was probably on its way out, at least it's all clean and lubed up ready for many years of service. 🤞

    Hello so I checked everything you said and looks ok but I still have the same problem. I have an electric dryer that turns off in the middle of the cycle and then nothing turns on in the control, as if it had no power, it takes about half an hour for it to turn on again. And then the same everything works fine for 15-20 min and then everything turns off again. I even checked the thermal fuse but it works too. Any idea of what might the problem be?

    Bill, I have one of the older model Samsung dryer (MoistureSensor he) and it was working fine until today that it stopped working properly.
    What happens is that it turns itself off after like 5 mins. Everything looks n feels normal but it just turns off after mins. I'm thinking the vent "pipe" is full of lint, but what do u think is the problem?
    I'd appreciate a quick response. Thanks!

      +Stacy Newman 4 wire thermostat on older dryers, this I believe has the dial in the center with two control boards behind the upper panel. I would still check the thermostat heater. I need to get my hands on one so I can tear it apart. Maybe somebody in the comment section will help shed some light.

    Dear Bill, I am searching for a cure to a problem with my Samsung Dryer (DV448AGP/XAA). I just moved from the USA to Egypt and I brought my washer and dryer with me and purchased a 2000watt transformer strictly for the dryer. Within a few moments of plugging in the dryer I get a message "power interruption". I can get the dryer to start a cycle, before that, but as soon as the message appears the cycle stops and the message persists. I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Any ideas?

    I am an engineer and I am THANKFUL for guys like this ONLINE. I am ABLE to figure out such items as a dryer problem, HOWEVER, how many hours in any day do I have? Even in my travels in factory automation I have plenty of engineers in all fields whereby we consult with each other to make our lives easier. I can't imagine though HOW MANY PEOPLE want this guy to fix their dryer for free online. That part would be NO FUN. I think guys like this MIGHT BE, part "Saint" and "Angel." (FYI my dryer keeps shutting off... LMAO, I suspected lint already and cleaned the inside, outside, pipes, and made sure it was open.....) I 'thought' I had it..... but It started again. Maybe a reset. I have had NOTHING but issues with my Samsung dryer.... piece of junk. I've owned MANY different appliances in my life, never Samsung. Out of ALL appliances I've owned they've never given me a lick of trouble. I am "almost" a certified "dryer" engineer. 1 more issue and I add it to my resume and go to work for Bill Newberry. By the way Bill, I know how to use an Ammeter, and am certified to work in high voltage transmission down to low voltage DC. I'm your guy. (Please tell me it pays at least $500 per repair and there are 4 repairs a day. AND the woman are HOT.)

    My dryer will run for quite some time, but then loses power completely. It'll fire back up once it seems its cooled off, but will cut out again if there's significant time left on the cycle. I cleaned out the vent and replaced the hose. Is it a problem with the motor or the thermal fuse or something else???

    Hi,
    Like your videos ,very good. Ok here is my problem. I have replaced the belt on the Samsung dryer model DV448AEP/XAC, put everything back and found out I forgot to plug the moisture sensor in. Took the dryer apart again, cleaned the sensor and made sure it works. Put everything back and it runs. Resetting the cycles. at first the dryer worked for 3 mins. then shut down. Learned how to do the reset and it works for about 8 mins. on the normal cycle but every time I try to reset with my cycle it does not remember the cycle and shuts down saying the dryer has finished the cycle...after about 8-9 mins. instead of the 51 mins.
    Is there a timer and how do I fix it or what the>>>> is wrong..Thanks

    Hi Bill, I have a Samsung electric dryer DV337AEG/XAA The problem I have is similar as to what you described in the video. I start it up and it runs for a few minutes then shuts off. Everything dies (controls do not come on) but has power to control. Some time later, 15 min or so, it comes back on and continues counting down but not running. If you stop it and star again the original issue occurs over again. This seems like the control board is bad or could this be due something overheating and shutting down as a safety till it cools? Just wanted to get your opinion before I order another one. Thanks

    I have a dryer that shuts off randomly. Open door and close and turns on. Sometimes keeps going and others kicks off and have to open door again and close it and press start and goes. Any ideas?

    Just replace the censor that all, and some cleaning of course will help air flow easily..

    Okay our dryer is coming on but jumps to 1 after being on a short time. We clean the sensor and check to make sure lint was not backed up in the hose. There is not an error code showing neither. What is the problem? By the way we just purchased this probably less than a month ago

    Mine is turning on fine, when I select normal dry the display saying about 55 min. I start it it runs for about 1 minute then the display changes to one minute and shuts off like normal with the chimes and all. But it only ran for a few minutes or so. Thoughts?

    my samsung dryer will not power on. if I'm understanding you correctly by falling your steps i need a new control board. your video shows power to the control board, but nothing after the control board. how do i know that its not the power switch?

    • @johnlingafelter524
      @johnlingafelter524 7 лет назад

      No power to the unit at all is probably the board. If you have power, but it just wont spin, it could be the exhaust thermal sensor, switch on the motor, or the belt switch.

  • @NecrovoidTV
    @NecrovoidTV 3 месяца назад

    I replaced the thermal fuse cause that was the problem. Then when i put it back together and ran a quick dry it stopped running after 10min n i think over heated. The timer was still going though

    I replaced the motor and it still runs for a few seconds then stops. It will turn back on after 30 seconds but then stops. What could be the issue now?

  • @bluedragon8762
    @bluedragon8762 3 года назад +5

    um so my situation isnt quite like this. when i turn on the dryer everything is fine but running through a regular cycle never finishes. it stops 5 minutes in and plays the finished tune. the dryer can be use immediately after. it will run entirely through the timed dry run though for an hour so im not sure whats going on so i can use the normal dry cycle

      Moisture sensor might need to be cleaned. It’s near the lints trap. If you can’t find one just clean all on the area. If you use dryer sheets check of one is blocking it. I had one stuck on the inside

  • @johnnynguyen2051

    Mostly, thermal sensors not just clean or not clean of course not clean the air duct will clogged the dryer not made clothes to dryer... I am handy man so I know all these remedies. What u done have to do nothing with cycle shutt off.
