OMG! This is the best technique ever!! Thank you so much "Router Bob" for showing us how it's done!
This is great timing I literally have to do this on my next job
Perfect! Glad we could help!
Nice video. You could also use the painters tape on the in side of the board ( next to the cuts) to quickly clean up the excess glue squeeze out
Great tip!
Great video, I would like you to go deeper into the tooling, which drill bit you select, and what parameters you use to set it up.
We use Vortex tools and their recommended setup
@@shopsabre It would be awesome to know exactly what bit or what parameters the bit needs to follow. Meaning, does it need to be a 90 degree Vbit that has edges longer than the depth of the material?? I imagine if they were shorter you wouldnt get a true 45 degree chamfer?
@@shopsabre They do not have a tool database, unfortunately. Can we get the cut parameters for this V-Bit please
Do you think this will work the same with MDF core veneers?
The concept should considering the way it works however we have not personally done this in that material here at the shop
Yes it works
what is the v bit tool number?
We recommend Vortex Tool
I have been trying to use MDF with maple veneer and I can't get it not to crack when I fold it. I am using Vortex tool #7055 90 degree V bit. I really need the more help on this please anyone?
If you have a ShopSabre, the tech support team will be your best contact during normal business hours.
I had some success spraying the veneer with water and bending it a little at a time.
