I like the way Yogananda tells this story. He ends by saying "and by the end of that three hour discussion, he lost and I won and I was saved from being a movie actor!" Master could be very funny.

I knew the story, but I didn’t know it was Warner Oland! No wonder I love Charlie Chan so much. I wonder if he and the French-Swiss Br. Turiyananda had any connection. Jai Guru
There are many stories of Yogananda in his early days in California which we would all love to know. Such as the fact that he was a friend of the famous four-square evangelist Aimee McPherson.

Thank you. A cute and informative/inspirational story
A lovely, edifying tale. I'll transform it into a short story or little screenplay.
Here's a good one: H.G. Wells meets Orson Welles true story
Paramahansa Yogananda describes his encounter with Warner Oland in his renowned book "Autobiography of a Yogi".
Good info
Didn’t know that. Amazing!
There is a talk by Yogananda where he tells this story. He ends by saying that he was saved from becoming a movie star by winning the conversation!
@ would have been interesting though! 😂. Is this talk accessible somewhere??
@@JacobCal I have heard it, but long ago. Don't know where.
