      She didn’t deserve that medal! Shannon’s difficult made her look like a joke. Look how low her chest was on that landing of the double tuck. That whole team was full of lies. Screw the Russians and I say that for today too!

      @@johnhazel3551 while the Soviet Union did mess with a great number of results and usurp many a deserved medal from other, better routines, THIS gold was very much deserved. Shannon had a couple of little things herself and wasn’t completely perfect either. Back then a low chest landing wasn’t as serious a markdown as it is today.

      This is based on success at Meets. Shawn was far from perfect. She never once stuck that dismount and her chest was low in nearly all of her acrobatic skills. she landed that standing full with her chest practically against her thighs every single time I saw her do it. Just because she was consistent and didn’t have many balance checks doesn’t mean she was perfect. Liukin was consistently superior in several ways and was more successful in competition.

      100% agree! Although her beam routine is very pretty to watch, there is low risk in learning difficult turns. Gymnasts who combine artistry with difficult acrobatic skills have a far superior routine.

      @cocoroni1031 Месяц назад +5

      Biggest waste how? Only she can do these difficult turns and the turn combo on beam. You don’t have to be great on everything to get a medal. Besides, on-beam acro difficulty is useless thanks to the beam code. Most importantly, she hits when it matters on beam.

    • @cocoroni1031

      @@lizk1780 it’s not of low risk. No one does double L turn and triple turn on beam. “Difficult acrobatics” is a lie because many people’s most difficult acro excluding the dismount is an aerial nowadays.
