This is my favorite piano piece ever, Chopin's opus 64 no 2 being second. Your timing and pace are perfect; I absolutely love this. I can't stand rushed interpretations. I can feel the ebb and flow of the tempo and the ever so slight pregnant pause between some notes, just long enough to give anticipation without a hint of rushing or blindly following the tempo as written.
@@dgcmusi surely to properly learn the piece and tempo. My teacher also won't let me play with rubato unless I know the piece at a 100%. It's pretty common if you are a student...
This is the thing about Chopin. His music is loaded with emotions, and still there is enough room for your own emotional side. It is a bit like living in a world of feeling. Absolutely amazing ❤
Brilhante performance! Uma das mais belas músicas que já ouvi! Obrigado por tocar com tanto sentimento e por compartilhar esta valsa maravilhosa do Eterno Chopin.
I love this Chopin waltz - so beautifully played, nice tempo and rubato - it breathes naturally. I was trying to learn this piece a long time ago and want to pick it up again. Thank you so much for sharing this.
...mi vals preferido de chopin aunque siempre me decante por los nocturnos pero este vals brillante es alegre con fondo melancólico... no había oído ninguno en youtube expresado así, tan chopin.
love this waltz and am learning it now. I signed up for your Patreon channel. Like Others have said,I’d love to see your tutorial on this-i’ve seen other tutorials which you have done on other pieces that are excellent and very helpful! thank you!
you are the only pianists on all of youtube, no matter how famous, rubinstein, hoffman, whatever. they don’t play the 8th measure like that. i do because my edition is like that but every edition you commonly find has extra notes on top which obscure the voice. I find it astonishing that no one plays it this way. It’s the way Henle does it. it’s also the way the very first edition is. i don’t know what the deal is but i concluded that this sounded better.
I recently began playing pieces with 2 melodies like Gurlitt has (In The Garden and Murmuring Book), 2 melodies in 1 hand. It's super awesome to learn and discover these marvellous piano techniques. How you are able to play these pieces like Chopin, Bach and Scarlatti is ridiculously amazing! Also, the pace of uploading these videos is amazing. Nothing but respect Paul, you are where I want to be. Work hard...
Hi Paul, I can't believe you posted this today. Just yesterday I was assigned this piece :) Love it. If you can maybe post a tutorial with few tricks and tips for this piece I would be immensely grateful :) Thank you :)
I´m so glad to listen your interpretation of this Chopin's waltz. It has so much texture and romanticism. Can you play for other video the Prelude of the Suite from the partita in E for violin by Bach transcription for piano by Rachmaninov. I would like to listen your interpretation on this prelude. My best regards Paul. Greetings from Costa Rica.

Struggling with my fat fingers on this piece. I notice Paul uses different fingering in one place than I have marked on my old Associated Board edition. On bars 37/38, the ascending sequence is marked as 2 1 2 3 (5,3) (4,2). But it doesn't seem to make much sense to me, to have to pass the thumb under finger 2, when you can cover everything from the G to the highest A without moving your hand?
Reima Kousei u know I’ve heard islamei many times but I still don’t know why it’s still known as “one of the more playable impossible pieces”. It’s hard Ik but it doesn’t sound as hard as others make it out to be at least from hearing it.
Hi Paul. Just subscribed to your channel. I was wondering how long you've been playing the piano and did you take any formal lessons? Thank you for this channel btw.
how did you get such a beast in thailand? There is this new kawai vs10 that is 8,000 usd that looks quite amazing as a digital hybrid with real hammers. that might be my someday for now I have a mp7 which is ok.
Sublime performance! I am wondering if you could give me the places in which the pedal should be pressed and released since my copy of the music does not have the pedals in. Thank you very much!

Wonderful waltz, showing the polish side of this genuine composer.

It's genius how he decided to flip the hands in the intro. The bass sound taking lead sounds so pleasant with the right hand complementing.
He didn't flip them. Unless you mean Chopin himself lol
