When she was walking down the sidewalk, she dropped her groceries when she saw the Tardis disappear. Later she knew what it was and not surprised. Sounds like someone had opened a fob watch in between scenes.

Worth mentioning the Rani was also supposed to be namedropped in the Giggle. Just before the Doctor bi-generates, Mel mentions the Rani, even saying she was more "amoral" than evil. This was cut from the final release because it felt clunky, but it's still in the script. Now multiple mentions of the Rani within a few episodes of each other is probably just them flexing they can do it now, but who knows, maybe it's a portent.

The Rani can't come back. The rights to the character are currently unknown after both Pip and Jane Baker died. Maybe they've found out who owns them and made a deal, but as far as I'm aware, that remains the case.
It's possible they tracked down and negotiated the Rights to the Rani. I'm not sure how name checking works for rights issues, but it would be good to bring back the Rani as the Master is Parked for a while unless she's Rassalon and that would just be a headache

She may play a very important art in stopping Sutekh. The Doctor Who Doomsday Trolls seem to having a field day over the 15th Doctor. They say that the Doctor Who series is coming to an end. In reality, it seems that the D. is playing with the Trolls. Basically if D. is trying to return to the roots of Doctor Who as a Space Opera, he is doing a good job by teasing everyone. A space Opera is a series which had a long arc. Each of the episodes can either be a sub-arc a critical part in the main arc, or a good filler which provides relief from the arc. Oddly the Arc do work. Best arcs to date are Bad Wolf, Amy's child, and the Girl who wonders thru time.
There's just one thing that wouldn't make sense for Mrs Flood to be The Rani. The Rani is a mad scientist who obsessively conducts her own scientific tests with no regards for things like Health and Safety. Granted, we've not seen inside her house, yet, but I can't see the Rani settling down to hide on Earth, without going somewhere secluded where she can still get ahold of unwilling tests subjects, and dispose of their mangled corpses.

Since the reveal of "Missy" we've seen Time Lords regenerate into an opposite gender, making it possible if Mrs Flood is a Time Lord for her to be "The Master". However I didn't hear much about this rights issue, and Gatwa name dropping The Rani, apparently Big Finish didn't have this problem. The name dropping in of itself could be the better signal seed of this plotline. But if Flood is The Rani she has apparently changed her MO seeing as The Rani was more of a Mad Scientist than a prophet of doom.

It is absolutely not the Rani. Steven Moffat is on record as saying that there is no point in bringing her back. Additionally, BBC cannot get the rights to the character from the estate. I will 100 percent be here when you are totally wrong to hear you say I am right.

Um I don't think that Mrs Flood is the Rani. Since here creators, Pip and Jan Baker, died without leaving a will nobody knows who knows owns the right's to her. So it's doubtful that she is the Rani. Maybe she is Romana or Susan.

It is absolutely not the Rani. Steven Moffat is on record as saying that there is no point in bringing her back. Additionally, BBC cannot get the rights to the character from the estate. I will 100 percent be here when you are totally wrong to hear you say I am right.
