Answer; because beerus or buu was asleep/sealed/unaware He got lucky that shin didn't die, i always assumed he was linked to elder Kai tho and thats why he was sealed in the z sword Out of universe Because beerus wasn't even a thought at that part of time
Hey! At the epilogue of the Buu saga goku wished that majin buu was erased from people's memories. It's implied that he only meant Earth people but what if he didn't? It could have effected beerus too
I look it up on Google and I found out that Beerus was not as strong as he is now when Buu was fighting the four supreme kais all those years ago. So Beerus was not strong enough to fight Buu yet back then and was mostly still in training in his early years of god of destruction.
What is a Mortal Level anyway, the sheer amount of them or the level of civilizations and how many, Beerus is a cool character but most of the stuff past Z is poorly thought out
IIRC, the balance between good and evil. The more out-of-balance, the less Mortal Level. The universes with the most mortal levels have the least threats to the universes, while Universe 7 in the past few decades there have been constant threats lol. Freeza, Cell (not the androids because they are stuck on earth), technically Majin Boo being awakened... That's how I remember hearing it anyway. Don't absolutely take my word for it though.
I think mortal level is related to the amount of planets containing an appropriate amount of intellegent life on them. U7 has 28 and was criticised by everyone for losing an entire galaxy.
hey Whis, when i die during my nap please reverse the time 5 min, wake me and tell me which planet i need to destroy. otherwise, NEVER wake me up, unless its about Zen-O or the legendary super saiyan
This bothered me for a bit. The. I realized that buu being able to absorb the Kias means that there was a risk he could absorb an arrogant beerus. Think of all the times beerus let his opponent take a shot at him just to prove how tough he is. Keeping beerus in the dark is the only way to guarantee buu doesn’t get destroyer abilities. Better for beerus to die when supreme Kia dies because at least he isn’t getting the ability to use haki.
My head canon is that Majin Buu is a creation of Whis to fill in for Beerus when he goes on his super long hibernations. Easily more powerful than any mortal and with unlimited stamina, Buu is a very efficient God of Destruction substitution. Also in my head canon during the Battle of Gods film Whis informs Beerus that a mortal has defeated Majin Buu not Frieza. It makes his reaction more believable and all the more a motivation to seek Goku out.
I really like Beerus. But his storyline is damn hard to make it consistent between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT as he wasn't existing in the mind of its creator in the 90's.
Maybe whis was there he was just waiting to see if boo would kill all the supreme Kai and was about to kill buu and then saw buu absurd the grand supreme Kai and saw fat buu and just left thought buu wasn’t that much of a Throat anymore
I feel like the whole his life being linked to the kaioshin really doesn’t make sense considering there have been multiple Kiaoshin over beerus life time so does that mean the link transferred ?
This raises another question.. Why is Beerus linked to the supreme Kai instead of his master? And where the F does that old geezer grand Kai fit into all of this.. what the hell Akira?!
Even better. Why didnt the kais teleport beerus straight into the kid buu fight. There is a 100 percent chance he was sleeping but he would have hakaied a kid buu attacking him
I mean i guess he doesn't care about HUGE threats. Majin Buu, Moro. Moro battled the Grand Supreme Kai back in the day and so far there was no hint that Beerua had helped during that. They didn't even make note of Beerus knowing of Moro now.
Also this makes me realize Moro is very very old. Maybe older than Beerus? Correct me if that was actually stated. But if Moro is that old does that mean the galactic Patrol has been around a very long time? Or if not how did they come to be the ones in possession of Moro. Maybe the GSK asked them to keep him.
Well it's not like Beerus is Mr. Manhattan or something like that. He definitely is far from omniscience. Lol he is just an outsourcer and lazy and forgetful a la Toriyama.
According to Toriyama, Buu is a primordial being. He’s been around since the earliest moments of existence, he along with ~3-4 other primordial forces we’ve yet to encounter (though Moro’s been channeling their power as his own) Power wise, I don’t think Beerus holds a candle to Buu (kid Buu). Think of it like in Greek mythology’s hierarchy: Buu would be equal to a Titan while Beerus is that of a god like Zeus or whoever you want to use for the example. It would probably take the collective coordination and cooperation of all supreme Kai’s (north south east west) the grand Kai, grand supreme Kai AND Beerus to even stand a chance against primordial buu. The supreme kai’s of universe 7 all faced buu individually and lost their lives doing so. Goku beating him with plot armour is the only thing that really clashes with how strong primordial buu really is. Edit: I just remembered that Whis mentions that the Grand Priest is one of the top 5 most powerful beings in the cosmos.. if he is the father of all angels it would follow that he too is a primordial force/being. I wondered for so long who could possibly be the other 4 in that top 5… well obviously Buu and the other primordials.
Side note, when you think about it, technically speaking, Beerus almost died twice. One mainly because Buu almost killed supreme kai after Buu had hatched and two because of Goku’s threat to kill supreme kai at the world tournament. Lol
Beerus: *wakes up from one of his naps* Morning Whis. Have I missed anything from my nap?

Took me forever to piece the “ bibidi babidi buu” reference
Answer; because beerus or buu was asleep/sealed/unaware
He got lucky that shin didn't die, i always assumed he was linked to elder Kai tho and thats why he was sealed in the z sword
Out of universe
Because beerus wasn't even a thought at that part of time
What's the music in the background? I know it's from Super but it'll take me ages to find it lol
Beerus could've died and not even known what had happened.
Hey! At the epilogue of the Buu saga goku wished that majin buu was erased from people's memories. It's implied that he only meant Earth people but what if he didn't? It could have effected beerus too
Maybe Beerus Hakai could kill Buu in one shot😀.
Almost definitely
I look it up on Google and I found out that Beerus was not as strong as he is now when Buu was fighting the four supreme kais all those years ago. So Beerus was not strong enough to fight Buu yet back then and was mostly still in training in his early years of god of destruction.
Majin Buu probably looks/act/senses way different then regular old kid buu. Not strange that he would recognize him.
Remember when Kaio-sama was the highest authority? Though that was probably just gregory brown nosing.
East Kaioshin/Supreme Kai didn't even know Beerus existed until Super lol
Just imagine if Beerus just killed Buu in Battle of Gods and ate the pudding afterwards. Dragon ball super would have never happened.
If Supreme Kai told him about Majin Buu, he would just blow up earth and be done with it
What is a Mortal Level anyway, the sheer amount of them or the level of civilizations and how many, Beerus is a cool character but most of the stuff past Z is poorly thought out
IIRC, the balance between good and evil.
He was sleep or too busy eating to be aware that Buu was running amok.
Beerus couldn’t even recognise the majin sign
My head canon is that Majin Buu is a creation of Whis to fill in for Beerus when he goes on his super long hibernations. Easily more powerful than any mortal and with unlimited stamina, Buu is a very efficient God of Destruction substitution. Also in my head canon during the Battle of Gods film Whis informs Beerus that a mortal has defeated Majin Buu not Frieza. It makes his reaction more believable and all the more a motivation to seek Goku out.
Isn't that whis said there's a idol will come to their planet? Idol can be mean devil or satan which is perfectly fit with buu
in universe reason = beerus was sleep
out of universe reason - beerus wasn't thought of when AT wrote the boo saga
I really like Beerus. But his storyline is damn hard to make it consistent between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT as he wasn't existing in the mind of its creator in the 90's.
Also. Shayne was in a supreme Kai during buus rampage
Because Beerus didn't want that smoke with Kid Buu🤣🤣🤣
One day buu will spit up zalama and be like oh yeah i forgot i ate him 🤷♂️
I don't think whis would've risked beerus being eliminated and possibly angering his father, grand priest. Or take the chance of displeasing zeno.
Welp.. Fat Buu IS the Grand Supreme Kai so Beerus can't really kill him.
Can you imagine how beerus would react if he found out buu almost killed supreme kai?
Isn’t the old Kai (the one from the sword) the one who is tied to Beerus?
Berrus didn't save shin because he was sleeping at was at the between of his 36 year nap.
Don’t overthink it. It’s because they make it up as they go. Beerus wasn’t thought of until way after the Buu saga.
Well it's not like Beerus is Mr. Manhattan or something like that. He definitely is far from omniscience. Lol he is just an outsourcer and lazy and forgetful a la Toriyama.
Dr Manhattan could stop Majin Buu if he gave a damn
I feel as if Whis would’ve woken bro up at the least

Well technically Buu could not actually kill Beerus, unless Buu figured out that the Z Sword carried the last Kai which would have been the Elder Kai.
According to Toriyama, Buu is a primordial being. He’s been around since the earliest moments of existence, he along with ~3-4 other primordial forces we’ve yet to encounter (though Moro’s been channeling their power as his own)
Power wise, I don’t think Beerus holds a candle to Buu (kid Buu).
Maybe beerus was connected to the old supreme Kai and not the new one (yet) so he turned the old one into a sword to keep him alive.
Side note, when you think about it, technically speaking, Beerus almost died twice. One mainly because Buu almost killed supreme kai after Buu had hatched and two because of Goku’s threat to kill supreme kai at the world tournament. Lol
