    I have the lp120xusb turntable and I love it...I'm so glad that the record does not stop when it reaches the end because some turntables it stops before the record is over according to how close the grooves are to the label

      Why don’t you want it to stop and the end?

      @@ToolsElectroDIY because it would stop while the song is still playing that's why I'm glad this turntable doesn't stop

      On my very cheap ion turntable I have only that issue on one record. I will have the LP120XUSB on Monday tho and I'm hype at for it

    The AT-LP120X also has adjustable feet and has strobe dots on the platter for 78 rpm speed while the older model has neither!

    Great video! I love how manufacturers are really doubling down on saving power and power budget for their newer devices. Power isn't going to get any cheaper, and every little bit saved helps!

      Absolutely! btw I forgot to mention it is completely silently on the new motor and the old one makes a little bit of noise, perhaps due to its old age. Maybe from 2004?

    I wish they kept the reverse option as well as the light that is attached. At the end of the day I doubt I would really use those two changed features so its not a big deal

    Looking to buy this and was recommended your video.
    I understand that to improve the wow & flutter it is recommended to change the slip at to a cork version to improve the vibration.
    And can you suggest a better stylus to improve sound. I understand the standard stylus is not the best but can be improved even on a budget.
    Thanks for the detailed info in your comparison.

      I'm still using the original stylus and have no experience with other stylus models.

      Go with the 120xBT-usb when same price. If you think you do not need BT wait until you got it. And whatever TT you buy if you need upgrades then you have the wrong TT alltogether. These AT‘s sound fine as is.

    You should have compared the older one with LP140 XP, which in technical terms is the true successor to the old LP120 USB.

      I’d love to but I don’t have it.

    Does the silver one's motor run all the time therefore the (near) constant power draw, and higher spin up torque?

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  5 месяцев назад

      The constant high power draw exists even the motor is not spinning.

      Both are good turntables… however LP120usb feels quality. The LP120usbx plinth feels and looks like cheap plastic.

    I noticed that the black version goes clockwise whilst the silver version, anti-clockwise!
    Does that matter?
    And how does the USB function work, do you need to set up a programe in your pc, can you plug in a USB flash drive into the turntable????

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  4 месяца назад +1

      the silver one is the older model which can go both F/R directions.
      I recommend the black one, which is the latest, but it is also available in the silver color. The USB port is used to be connected to PC/Mac only, with recording software like Audacity, you can convert vinyl records to WAV or MP3 format.

      @@ToolsElectroDIY thanks for your reply. I read there was a Bluetooth version of this tt… Would it be superior?
      And what stylus do you recommend?
      Thanks again!

      @@richmck007 yes, there is a Bluetooth version of this but I don’t see the point. I wouldn’t use the Bluetooth feature as it is compressed again.

      What difference does it make? Is it really necessary to have a higher torque?
