P.S. I missed out on talking about motion glider, Army has a short video demonstrating it here though ruclips.net/video/YoHnHOu2c8s/видео.htmlsi=cF6EnZYCz-zqqe8s
Weird request but 3.0.1 just was made available, since you sound very knowledgeable about Mario kart, do you know what was changed in this update? Are the patch notes anywhere?
Love what you're doing here. These types of videos are harder than what most MK RUclips channels do so I'm really excited to see how your channel grows! (I forgot to sub until now sorry)
7:46 I think I've heard it be referred to as air hopping before? Additionally I believe it can be done not just off halfpipes but also while in the air in general, but I don't know/remember if there's any sections where you'd actually want to do that. I think there might be a part on bWS that isn't one of the halfpipes, but like I said I don't remember
Jenzua Glider: Needed on tracks like Thwomp Ruins where there is a glider ramp followed by a regular trick ramp while holding certain directions can send the vehicle flying to the side with momentum to the side, while gaining speed from the momentum.
Awesome video 👌 great to see all of these in 1 place! Some other useful bits of tech: Delayed drifting (pressing your direction as late into your hop as possible). Neutral hop to give yourself more air for niscs. Timing your mt to run out just before hopping onto grass so it doesn't kill speed (e.g. peach gardens nisc). And also just generally that any directional input is slower than being neutral and it's good to minimise its use as much as possible.
Yo thanks for this vid alot. I already knew alot of these tricks through shorts like JP and Shortcat, but not only did I learn something new (for example I knew about the low halfpipe for a long time but I never saw someone explain how to do it until now) its just very nice to have all of it in one place instead of it being scattered around everywhere and hard to re-find. Only thing that I saw one guy mentioned is that you missed Delay Drifting, as that that has overall much more practicality than lets say Motion Gliding. There is also Snaking, Neutral Hops, and timed MTs before grass shortcuts. (such as on Peach Gardens and London Loop) Perhaps after a bit of time after people put in suggestions you can do an updated vid where you just talk about the missed tech after the ones you covered. (but have everything, including the techs covered in this vid, all in one vid, not just seperate them)
You're insane! Will you make some Time trial tutorials? Most maps i watch how they do stuff and then i'm not able to pull it off and get way behind world record. Like 10 seconds behind, i'm quite bad at the game xD
Combining soft drifting, counter hopping, and delay drifting and practicing the many angles is very important to get the lines you’re getting without it being too wide. Still a bit sloppier than you.
Thx for the great vid, I really didn’t knew that soft drifting is so much better (I don’t have the game but love to watch it) and how to do a low glider If there is going to be a Mario Kart 9 or however they call it, I will possibly know some strats for the new game thx to u❤
Ok, this might seem out of left field, but I wanted to ask someone who is also a Mario Kart nerd a question about Music Park. At the end of the track there are the bouncing music notes who jump to the tempo of the background music. On lap 3, the music speeds up, and so the notes bounce more frequently. This is all fine and dandy, but in an online race, not everyone will reach lap 3 at the same time. So how does the game account for this? If my music starts at a different time than someone else's then the beats or our music will not be in sync. Additionally, what if I'm one lap behind? My music is not even the same tempo as the person in first's.
I've noticed that a few world records do a bit of snaking (200cc Vancouver Velocity, GBA Snow Land). What all plays into making that more efficient(slippery tracks, higher traction combos, higher miniturbo, etc.)?
Someone has got to help me with superboncing, I use Yoshi Teddybuggy with the rollers, yet I am never able to charge a miniturbo on time for a bounce pad, even if I drift BEFORE the jump, but then I'm completely missaligned, same if I try to sharp drift onto it. Can anyone help me with the alignment and how to drift onto them properly?
That would depend on both the track and the combo and the speed class. On 150cc, pretty much all combos would need to do mixed soft - wide drifting in order to get the UMT after the last pokey on GCN DDD. Not so much for 200cc though. Looking at WR's should give a good idea, if you look at the direction the character's head is pointing, that should give you an idea of whether they are soft drifting or hard drifting.
Everything except super bounce and Kussan slide I think. Yoshi stat character with yoshi bike and rollers is still a very solid competitive pick though if you want to play inward for 150cc

very helpful video! (also you probably should've covered delay drifting since it is really easy and helps alot with charging mini-turbos quicker)
that's a good point, tbh i've been doing them without thinking for years now i kinda forgot to mention it LOL

I’m certainly a leftist but also a great mk racist
YOU MEAN RACER RIGHT?!!

RUclipsrs saying doing the startup perfectly consistantly is easy yet no one I know can actually do it:
I’m not a professional by any means but I can get it almost every time
Yeah idk, I’m like 7k VR and if I get it I’m like usually top 3 right away cause most ppl don’t get it
Also I think you should mention something about delay drifting. Delay drifting is really important in getting your mini turbos out faster.
You havent uploaded much but i love your style of content. Hype to see you grow
Wow a lot of these tricks I didn’t even know existed thanks for the tips!
Right lads never gets old
Advice on 8:26? I can’t get the triple hop on that specific part of dk summit consistently (and am trying to time trial it..)
Nice L1am! Love to squad queue with you someday, but rn nice video!
❤
Oh, and fire hoping after an Ultra Mini Turbo or a Super Mini Turbo can get you through 90 degree turns faster when firehopping to 1 direction.

dont u have 2 hop as the boost runs out 4 kusaan sliding? or am i wrong

now i can finally be fast
L1am upload, we eating well tonight kads

Ive heard the halfpipe tech refered to as zippering once, i assume because youre staying close to the line as possible? No clue if thats right
do you have a video on item management?
that's a good idea i'll definitely consider it

Can you help me with motion glider. I can’t figure it out
Great video! Possible to put time stamps in the description?
Good video, but probably should've mentioned which tech isn't available to inside drift.
Are these tips usable on the great legendary toad circuit
how do you charge UMT in very long and not tight turns? you alternate soft/wide/soft or you are able to mantain a constant soft drifting angle?
That would depend on both the track and the combo and the speed class. Keep it real with me. Dry Bowser sucks doesn’t he?
Yes
He is the same as Wario and Funky Kong
The heavier characters have better speed stats, and the speed is inferior to the mini turbo stat
You forgot pushing the a button
It's called an air hop
How much of this tech can be done on Inside Drift?
Everything except super bounce and Kussan slide I think. Yoshi stat character with yoshi bike and rollers is still a very solid competitive pick though if you want to play inward for 150cc
@@jackderethik Nice, thanks. I play Pauline on the Comet (same stats as Yoshi bike)
Motion glider lol
good point, prolly the only notable thing i missed i think?
Was ist mit den Rampen auf sonnenuntergangswüste oder auf wario arena. dort springt man nicht, aber wie fährt man da?@@l1ammk
Hey lads
Delay drifting.
thanks for the advice, these are really helpful! off to tt'ing
