Its nice to see a guitar magazine introduce new artists and bands that aren't just metal players. While I love metal I also love good Old School country music. There are a shit load of country pickers out there that just tear it up where some other guitar magazines ignore. I also never heard of Whitey Morgan until this. Checked out a couple of youtube vids and totally dig them! Buying their music !!
Country guitar is an entirely different ballgame, too. It’s an under appreciated art and it’s a style that most people really can’t understand the theory behind. Love some good chicken pickers.
I saw Whitey the first time in a little bar. They were the opener. I said “ I’ve never heard of them I’m going next door for a minute “ the sound guy told me “ stick around, you’ll want the album before the first song ends”. He was right and I own them all.
That vol pedal is gangster. Being able to find your taper w/out having to go through a bunch of units or swapping pots. Fantastic idea and implementation. Glad he stopped him to point that out.
Get some Lollar or Lindy Fralin pickups for that 74's custom deluxe tele to brightened the sound, that's odd usually those original seth lovers designed humbuckers are bright humbuckers, or he could wired it 50's style to brightened up the sound.
Shoutout to Elderly’s! 😄 #puremichigan ✋🏻😎 lol And nice, professional throw to the outro, for real! Good little addition to the RR format if you ask me 😄 Thanks for posting as always!
I thought I'd never favor one neck wood over the other but I don't like maple necks anymore. I don't like the spank, I like the thickness of rosewood. With that said, that rosewood Tele Fender gave him is the best one in that rack in my opinion.
Why didn't John do this run down? No-brainer - you guys missed the mark this time. No offense to this interviewer but John is certainly better at letting his guests do the talking and John should have been doing the questions on the steel (and the Tele's for that matter). Also, thanks for introducing me to W/M!!!
The interviewer asked him about the pickups on his #1 guitar, and he says how great they are, that a guy custom wound them for him 4 yeas ago, but he can’t remember his name. Then he asks him about his guitar strap and says how beautiful it is, he agrees, and once again he can’t remember the guys name who made it! The guys that made his pickups and strap have probably been waiting years for him to do a high profile interview on his gear...and he can’t even remember their names...and as someone who makes a boutique music product, I can just feel their frustration. You hand out free stuff to these artists, and you wait and wait for your product to be mentioned in one of your endorsers interviews, and time after time you read through or watch the entire interview all the way through, and you have that ache in your gut when you get to the end and nothing. It’s sad that so many of these artists forget how they got to where they are, and who helped them out along the way.
I just wish he would have given them credit by name. I watch all of these Rig Rundowns, along with many many other artist interviews...and they always make it a point to thank those folks that make them shine.
Thanks for the great love and support you show me as a special fan of mine, I hope you won't stop listening to music, and thanks for your sincere Compliment and love towards my music 🙏

This band is killer live. Been wanting to see the rundown for a while.
This rig rundown is probably one of my favorites in a while.
Elderly Music is Guitar Heaven!!!!
I love the rig rundowns with pedal steel players. This and the Tyler Childers rundown are rad.

The Mountain + Jonathan Davis = Whitey Morgan.
I once swapped out a neck in between sound check and the show in my hotel room.
That lagunitas IPA is the secret to the tone.
It was nice to see the pedal steel. Alot of times thats an overlooked instrument. Nice rundown video.
Brett Robinson is a monster player!

The channel isn't called "premiere bass" lol
Take consolation in the fact that at least you got the Eric Savage videobomb, extended remix 😁
Whitey Morgan is great. If you're not familiar with him be sure to check out his live album. It's a great introduction to his music!
Anyone know what the steel guitar song is? Or just improv?
Great band!
This band needs to be inducted into the grand ol opery for the great music
Ameripolitan music forever! Thanks PG for doing this one!
Love Whitey but the paint job on that first tele is jacked up lol 😂

I loved the sound of Whitey's blackface Super so much, I bought one just like it; too bad it shit the bed and missed its closeup.
You should do one on The Hold Steady. Cool rock band, 3 guitarists. Something different.
was the bassist a precision thru an svt?

Bassnut59 ....i agree with ya

That natural US standard looks like a little toy in the guitarist hands.
Very Cool!

Gosh, I’m really out of touch with modern music. I’ve never heard of Whitey Morgan of half the band’s Premiere Guitar interviews, lol
Vibro kings need to be more accessible
Teles with tummy cuts =naw
Swap the neck out between sound check? But... if the other neck is shit- why not- the guitar currently sucks- can only improve-
Badass
Forgot the drummer
