This is a complete joy to bring Whores & Christian back into the Rig Rundown fold and do it in a proper way this go 'round ... what a great dude, awesome artist, and an absolute tonal technician with a guitar as his chisel. Thanks for your time and graciousness CL!
Cool fact. Peter Grant used to make Atlantic press Zeppelin records in the classical music vat of vinyl because it was of higher quality and changed more often. Gas crisis in the 70s lead to companies stretching the quality thin on multi-million selling rock records.
He's got an older one too. Pleasantly surprised there's this one so close to the other one. I'm stoked when there's an episode like this. Especially when they don't focus on a guitarist that just uses a modeling amp, etc.
@@premierguitar Definitely! Keep the great bands up! Do you ever get kinda bummed when the artist just uses his guitar and a modeler? Just seems like you have to drag it out with little to talk about. Lol. Oh and please make the artist more specific when they just answer "a Duncan" when asked about what pickup they use. There are so many options by pickup makers. Hard to believe a guy can't remember what he put in his favorite guitar. LOL.
Christian has pretty much one of the nastiest and best guitar tones I can think of. Hell, Whores in general is just about one of the best live bands out there, and Christian's a lifer.
I remember being active on Harmony Central with Christian years ago. And I remember people asking him about his amps all the time. We'd chat about the best Doom fuzz pedals and EGC guitars and Mammoth cabs, back when you could get them.
ive been a huge fan of whores ever since i found their EPs in like 2013(?) when i was like 15 - even though i dont listen to them as much anymore, i respect the hell out of christian just for how cool he is i remember when they played their first gig in vienna (i was in love - bb and whores were my fav bands at that time), i posted an instagram story right afterwards and he responded to me and we chatted for a while. super cool dude. would love to hang out with/open for them one day.
i was heavy into HCFX forum back in that period.. bought Ruiner album based on a posting i guess Christian made back when it was released. the Soda Meiser and DeviEver pedals gave me a massive flashback to that time lol was so cool being around at the advent of ZVex and all those other cool brands. if you got a MelxFx fuzz you know. ;)
@@rocket69218 hey dude. hope all's well. still got my rainbow stockings pedal somewhere! :D i went by gambit back on the forums.. been trying to find a similar community again recently. any about?
Only 20 guitars? Come on bro! I believe in you. Its all about rhe sound and inspiration! ❤🏁🙌🎸 .some addictions better than others .. some guitars better than other guitars mothers.
The Russian Muff clone on his board, from Axe and You Shall Receive, is a B.Y.O.C. Li'l Beaver (Russian) Kit that they sell UNASSEMBLED FOR $55. They WILL, however sell them ASSEMBLED for $95. Just got off the phone w/them, super nice folks.
20 minutes in and I understand now why it’s over an hour long lol. Dude seems cool. Not familiar with them, but I’m gonna check them out, after that intro
what is going on that a band feels the need to apologize for using a half stack? what kind of woke crap has taken over live sound these days... who is making these "rules"?
Bro you are actually a fucking loser. Dude made a joke about playing a half stack and you're here crying about it. Please stop calling every goddamn thing woke. You, and everyone like you, are fucking stupid.

When did Nick Swardson start a hardcore band?
Cool fact. Peter Grant used to make Atlantic press Zeppelin records in the classical music vat of vinyl because it was of higher quality and changed more often. Gas crisis in the 70s lead to companies stretching the quality thin on multi-million selling rock records.
Great timing. I was just the other day googling for his gear list.

One of the few rig rundowns that’s a relatable rig to me. I like Marshall’s, Teles and fuzzies
I always enjoy checking out musicians I never heard before and what they use to produce their sound. 1:18 It is very motivational.
The rockstar from the HCFX days. Well deserved, Christian.
I’ve been waiting for this since Christian posted on his ig. Thanks for covering such a sick fucking band.
Awesome rundown 💯😎 Great sounds. Christian really seems like a cool guy. I hope the band has continued success 😎
Thanks, I agree! It was a blast hanging out with him.
love this band, ty guys

Great band, great tones!
this show was the 4th time i've seen them. brutal as ever. hope y'all got Kowloon Walled City when they were in town too!
Ooh Kowloon rig rundown would be amazing
So stoked to see this in action in Asheville 🔥
great rig run down, fun to see a musician enjoying his craft and his gear!
Thanks for watching! It was a blast hanging out with him.
loved them since Ruiner
Love this band ❤

Hey dude, It's melx here!
What I remember most about Christian was the continuous non-conversations with others about why he taped over the logos on his amps and cabs. 😂
lol... he just mentioned it!! 😆
