Bhindi, commonly known as okra, is a beloved vegetable in many households, particularly in Pakistan and Indian cuisine. Known for its unique texture and nutritional benefits, bhindi is rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. This Bhindi Masala Fry recipe is a delightful way to enjoy this versatile vegetable. With a perfect blend of spices, onions, and tomatoes, this dish brings out the best flavors of bhindi, making it a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. Simple to prepare yet full of flavor, this Bhindi Masala Fry is perfect for both everyday meals and special occasions.
INGREDIENTS:
250 grams bhindi (okra), washed, dried, and cut into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup of oil
1 medium onion, (sliced)
1/2 medium tomato, finely chopped
1/2 tbs turmeric powder
1/2 tbs red chili powder
1/2 tbs coriander powder
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish(optional)
INSTRUCTIONS :
1. Preparation:
Wash the bhindi thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Make sure they are completely dry to avoid sliminess while cooking.
Cut the bhindi into 1-inch pieces.
2. Cooking:
Heat 1/4 Cup of oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the bhindi pieces and sauté them until they are slightly crispy and cooked through. This usually takes around 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Once done, add sliced onion mix it well together with bhindi and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
3. Spices:
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the spices for a minute.
4. Serving:
Serve hot with chapati, paratha, or rice.
