Been eyeing this Richmeters RM113D for days as my first DMM. Functions, design and build quality is good enough for my needs for a cheap price. I'm just a simple DIY guy who loves doing and building things on my own. I ain't pro with electricals but know some of the basics (and from experience) and curious to learn more 😁
Thankfully i stumbled on your channel. Your in-depth review is on point and the teardown is my favorite part. You exposing the insides really sold me out. Keep up the good work. Cheers from the Philippines!
Great to hear! It's one super multimeter so it should serve you well 👍 Welcome aboard!
Finally got mine and it came with a much better test leads 😁 Just like the one from 404B model with gray insulation 🤩
@@the.introvert Hey that's great news 😀 Glad it arrived ...enjoy that multimeter...👍
Watching this video for a tenth time 😁 It surprises me that it has 22k views, it might me be your most watched video!
This DMM is a real gem. I have it placed(thanks to the magnet) on the side of my PC tower and it's always available for anything! I believe it's one of the most useful features that one dmm must have! After that it's hard to find a new one to replace it 😁
p.s. I like this intro!
Love the enthusiasm!! 😁👍💫💫💫💫💫
I too absolutely love the magnetic hanger as well, so simple but so darned useful! Such a great multimeter I too use it often. Believe it or not its the SECOND most popular video thus far, Number 1 is the BSIDE ADMS7 review..ruclips.net/video/iowG9o1ryGg/видео.html
Keep on Testing!!
Hey Darren, thanks a bunch for the review. It's a good value for it's price.
Appreciate the feedback! Its definitely a solid buy. Thanks for watching
After I watched this review, I ordered it from aliexpress. I'm more than happy with this device, because my work is based on car electric and small low power circuits. NCV is working just fine, already found one cable where is losing contact. Thank you once again.
Great stuff!! Yes the 113D is an excellent multimeter with alot of great features! Glad you are happy with the dmm.
awesome video. Thanks. Btw how do you take out the multimeter from the orange case to change the fuse?
It's on there good but it does come off. You don't have to worry about it coming off if you drop it. I like it. LOL
thanks, was thinking of getting one of them and your Video helped.
Most welcome, thanks for watching
I found NJTY T21D look exactly like the 113d.. do you think there the same inside? Thanks
Does it have frequency counting function? For example can it detect Radio signals frequency? Or it is just able to count alternative current frequency?
No it cant detect Radio frequency just the Frequency output.
Thank you for the review! Very nice
Thx Eric , Keep On Testing!
Thanks again Darren, still a relevant a video for still a relevant meter! Any toughts on how this good ol' 113D from Richmeters compares to the latest Habotest 113C (the automatic one with 6000 counts, NCV and temperature functions) ?
The Richmeters is a solid dmm. My preference would probably go to the Habotest though. Slightly better build and snappier performance. 👍
Are you having any difficulties measuring ma? My 113D, not sure if its not functioning properly, but LEDs which should be showing 10-20mA are showing 1 to 2 mA (lights up) If I switch to A, its showing 0.03x but doesn't light up the LED.
Hi David, I'll take another look over the weekend and let you know if I notice any discrepancies with mA.
I have a question. If you put on short the tips, on diode scale, sound beep, led turn on.?
No audible beep in diode mode unfortunately 😕
Just ordered the NJTY version(exactly the same) from Walmart for $16 with FREE SHIPPING. Looks like I’m getting a decent meter especially for the price! I mainly got it because it has a capacitor tester that goes a lot higher than the one I have now which only goes to 20uf ! Hopefully it lasts at least a year. It’ll be worth the price even for that long. Maybe stick shielding tape on the inside? This one is a LOT better than the one I have which was $10 more at Harbor Freight!
Is there a some sort of paste on the switch to protect from wear and tear
Unfortunately not. There's no dielectric on the rotary tracks. You could however apply some manually. 😊
I was expecting those SMT shunt resistors to get burning hot but I put my finger on one with 5 amps passing through it and it didn't get hot. Those little things are impressive.
So true, they can really take the heat considering how small they are..Keep On Testing !
its a super review...!
you r great tks!
greetings from argentina
saludos y gracias
I got this multimeter yesterday.
I can't imagine how to spend $14 better. This review helped me choose.
I would pay more just for capacitance tester like this little beast has. (100 000 uF!)
My came with a little better probes, but anyway they needs more decent replacement.
Excellent! It's a great buy. Well designed and alot features.Keep On Testing!
Hi Darren, keep up the good work, I enjoy these videos. Where oh where? do you keep finding these. I thought that I had a problem. Best wishes from Northern Ireland, Derek.
Hi Derek, Many Thanks, glad you're enjoying the videos.
It's a rather adverse condition this "MULTIMETERITIS" ! Unfortunately there's "no" cure! At least, that's what I'm hoping.. ;)
As long as they keep churning them out I'll be doing reviews on them.
It does seem like there's a-lot of interest in these low priced worker bees so it's a bit of a challenge to keep up! Cheers!
The NJTY T21D version I've got has much better test leads. I also did some additional coil on the tip of the ncv sensor, it now has more sensitivity when pointing the device near an electrical source.
Hello Darren... In comparison with Rm102/tz102 and unit ut33d+ wich one you think is the best and more accurate?
Hi Marios, RM102 would be my choice!
@@KeepOnTesting Thank you my friend.... Keep up good work...
I got 113A from aliexpress, ncv doesnt work, ideas ?
Did you inspect the NCV filament on the pcb? How does the soldering look...it might be a cold joint, so you could try reflowing the solder with a little flux.
My 113D wont turn on :(
Changed batteries and nothing, does any body also had this issue?
Darren, obviously the better leases leads make a big difference. What were the better leads that you used
Need a cheap set of great leads, try these!

Hello sir, need help in choosing which has better value for money, richmeter rm113d(php578 or 11.78usd) or winapex et8104(php893 or 18.21usd). Thanks man
Both great multimeters..but I would choose the Richmeters RM113D , it's a better value at that price!😄👍
@@KeepOnTesting i see thanks a lot man. I'll order one today. Thanks a lot
which is better richmeter 113d or zotek zt102? pls help me decide.. watching here from philippines. really like your review bro :) did also subscribe to you
I'd choose the Richmeters 113D ! More functionality in a better designed, more robust package.
Greetings to all my Phillipine Viewers !!
😁👍Keep On Testing!
@@KeepOnTesting thanks bro :)
@@TIKOYVLOG Anytime!
I would trust more a current sensing resistor than a current shunt, for accuracy. As always, nice video!
Thanks Samuel..and yes, I couldn't agree more about the current sensing resistor!
Does it show duty cycle (%) or just Hz?
Yes, Frequency and Duty Cycle.
@@KeepOnTesting Great thanks, I'll be ordering one today!
The NJTY T21D seems to be the exact same meter for as low as about $13 on ebay at that price for a rubber cased rugged "beater meter" it is hard to beat with 6000 counts and the best sensitive continuity set up both with light & buzzer. Upgrade the test leads and you will have one hell of general household meter for low energy work away from the main breaker box. I have no idea what NJTY stands for but leave it to the Chinese to obfuscate who actually makes their meters.
Thanks for the update. Indeed it's the identical multimeter. CHEAP-O Beater...I like that! It's a tough little dmm I will give it that..KEEP ON TESTING !
How much did you buy
Im between 113 D or WinApex 8101 what u reccomend me??
Ur doing a nice work share your knowledges!! Keep going
If Temperature is important go with the Richmeters, otherwise I would choose the WinApex ..it has Max/Min and Rel , two important features the Richmeters 113D is lacking.
@@KeepOnTesting thnx!! If i choose WinApex.. what model u recommend me?? I see a new ones
@@RavenWeed I will be doing a review on the WinApex ET8104 shortly..so you might want to wait for that..😀👍
@@KeepOnTesting Roger that! :)
If u can recommend me the best multimeter u think for around 20 bucks i will apprecciate!!
I see ur a big tester 🔥🔥 (if can have temp better) :p
Winapex et801 dude the best
The original version of that multimeter is NJTY T21D.. with box and better leads..mine just arrived today.
Thanks for the heads up...better leads always a plus!
is it better than DT-9205A ?
DT-9205A is non autoranging ..basic dmm but still an excellent instrument in it's own right.113D is more advanced, smaller design and better set of ranges..if I had to choose I would opt for the DT9205A because its proven a worthy multimeter that just doesn't quit..I prefer the bigger size display and beefier rotary selector switch. YMMV
Exact same as my NJTY T21D multimeter....right down to the color.
Definitely possible...RICHMETERS isn't the OEM on this multimeter. 👍
Overall, which is better? WinApex ET8101 or Richmeter 113D?
RM113D
@@KeepOnTesting i just ordered winapex et8101 for about $12 here in the Philippines. Is it worth it or I did a mistake?
@@angeloperez1136 Winapex ET8101 is still a great multimeter..no worry. 😀👍
How did you removed the orange cover? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Few seconds later, ok, i manages to take it too 😂
No problemo 😊
tks..!
I have it! its very good and accurate multimeter. the only cons are that the digits on the screen are fading if you look from some specific angles and that the light has so short duration(very annoying).
Roger that, I wish those back lights would just stay on until we turn them off..
Do you still have it? Is it still working?
@@eduardoluna8893 Yes, I still have it and it works fine! It's still my favorite DMM!
Hi again Darren, guess what? ordered for just under £10.
I really need help!!!!!
Hi Derek, That's Awesome! Now you and I are both going to be knee-deep in meters! Hopefully you'll like it as much as I do! It's a very chic looking meter with lots going for it, let me know how you like it compared to the WinAPEX ET8101.
mite be off air for a few days, going to Spain for a weeks holiday.
Have a great holiday Derek! Spain sounds like the perfect getaway, enjoy!
Nice! Tx , bro. Good to see 6-8 hrs of multimeter shopping paid off in once again making a great choice:p I bought one this afternoon for $13! Free shipping, lol. Can't wait to electrocute myself, haha peace
Excellent! Enjoy the new multimeter and please dont electrocute yourself 😀👍
very good multimetor
Yes indeed, it has many nice features for the end user.
also named/sold as NJTY T21D. too bad it doesnt have unlimited duration for the backlight.. bought WinAPEX ET8101/ Mustool MT108T instead..
Yes indeed, the meter has a few naming conventions, thanks for the input!
wonder whether the rm113d or et8101 is better man !
I would go with the ET8101.
Tough call both are great dmms...either way you'll make a good choice 113D has temp..so that could be a dealbreaker
@@KeepOnTesting thank you man. love to see more and more of your dmm reviews
@@thienanpham7466 Thanks! More on the way 😀👍
Hi. What is input impedance to this device?
Good question, The RM113D has 11MΩ (Megaohms) of input impedance. I measured it with a Metrahit 2+. That's on par with more expensive multimeters.
@@KeepOnTesting Thank you so much. It has same input impedance of unit ut139c. Which one do you recommend RM113D or Winapex Et series ?
They are both really good meters but I use the WinAPEX ET8101 almost every day alongside my other meters. You cant go wrong with either in my opinion. The customisable backlight and high capacitance range sold me on the WinAPEX.
@@KeepOnTesting But as i see in your video, the RM113D measurement accuracy is better. Is not it?
Yes I found the RM113D a tad more accurate even though they both use the same EEPROM that stores the configuration information for the main microcontroller. (DTM0660 multimeter IC) at the end of the day it really comes down to personal preference ;)
I ordered it for 12€ yesterday (so still in shipping)... but after seeing this review... i think its VERRY good for the money
Excellent choice! It's a great multimeter and should serve you very well..its built like a tank too..very solid!
Keep On Testing!
sorry for the no good transit,we will add a carton box to protect it
Thanks for responding. Yes, shipping the meter in a box would definately help. It's an excellent performer and a very affordable multimeter. The Richmeters RM113D was a pleasure to review.
Darren Walker thanks, do you have email?
Yes indeed, netplicity1@gmail.com
is my email address.
How to turn on "🔺ZERO" on that tool...it is the REL 🔺 you see on the screen
I just got this as a present. Always hated the italic number. Quite good dmm tho. I didn't get the instruction manual as well. I didn't even know the measurement ranges. That's why I'm looking it on internet. I'm surprised the capacitance measurement up to 99mf. I have bunch of cheap dmms, they usually only 200uf, 4mf or 10mf. Even the people favorites aneng 8009 only handle up to 10mf.
113D was full of surprises and the high Capacitance range was deilfnately a bonus! All around it's a winner and should serve you well! Congrats on your great gift!
i have 113c model, its similar but more basic, in buenos aires here i pay 10us, is very cheep for the quality, greetings
0:38 )))) btw good multimeter
Yes it is!
Richmeter113a and 113d same meter?
113A = MANUAL Ranging
113D = AUTORANGING with Temperature 🌡
@@KeepOnTesting last question which is better MANUAL Ranging or AUTORANGING multimeter guide for me to buy new one
@@cardosaydali5758 I would go for the AUTORANGING , more efficient and it has a few more features than the manual version.😀👍
still waiting for the Winepex. maybe another 2 or 3 weeks.
The shipping times from Asia can be daunting at best. I've only found a couple of sellers that expedite to North America but it's a rare exception. Typical wait times of 1+ month for my neck of the woods is not uncommon. I imagine Ireland is much the same, hang in there! ;)
Richmeter rm113e review and teardown
Nice multimeter yes or no.???
Yes 👍
Extra connectors above the fuses will be to fit longer (1000v) fuses, 20mm fuses are only rated to 250v, they really should have a marking on the front panel to indicate that the current ranges should only be used on up to 250v circuits for safety.
Good just ncv dont works inside walls
Auto Power Off ????
Yes it has an auto off feature, approx 15 min then it turns iff, this can be disabled by holding down on the select button when rurning the meter on.
@@KeepOnTesting Thanks
Good product. I measure freq 300kHz
Its gets the job done!
Yes! It's a solid little workhorse...tough and always ready!!
Тож заказал себе - кстати на али самый низкий ценник: ali.onl/1C3y
i guess there are cheaper mms with similar crappy qualities.
you waste too much time with cheap talk ...
CHEAP-O MULTIMETERS are extremely popular my friend. I do review more expensive meters from time to time though.
