- In the first episode of this TV adaptation of the classic British theatre comedy, the Hardcastle family is in a state of excitement as they are expecting an important visitor: Mr Hardcastle's friend Sir Charles' son, Marlow. The hope is that the fine gentleman from London will marry the only daughter, Kate. Unfortunately, her older brother Tony is the first member of the family to meet Marlow and find the opportunity to play one of his infamous pranks.

As an Asian, I find the main lead as spoiled for cleaning his shoe by bread (food) and nasty for cleaning againg by pillow, no matter what he might have thought of house as an inn but he is not supposed to dirty the pillow, he thought of paying for his stay, not for dirtying the house...

This drama is very very helpful for me
I have found these series only a year ago or so. Before that, I have only seen an old tv play (1974) in my native language ( not English). It was a mixture of stage play and a movie. I would say more of a stage play that was filmed at some point . It is a bit shorter and plainer than these ones, some scenes were cut, some minor characters like most of the servants were cut off. This adaptation is a lot more richer, deeper, easy on the eye.
I wonder, if I am the only person who watches these just for entertainment and not for an exam paper or thesis.

@user-yl5gi3yd9u It was actually in Russian, and was like a staged play /movie. The name is "Ночь Ошибок" . It's close to adaptation, but not word for word . As far as I know, there are some decent staged plays on RUclips in English .

Christ, does no one check this crap? The captioning is atrocious. Why dialog, dialog which is taken word for word from the novel, isn't transcribed correctly, I'll never understand.
Is it to save money that they do not hire a human proofreader? Or is the proofreader they _do_ hire some semi-literate film student/aspiring director looking to break into the business? "... the trimmings of the _vein"_ (vain) [6:55] - "tall maple" (maypole) - "...the sun (son) an awkward boobie". Maddening.
