HI Dickens certainly knew how to give names to his characters to define them without wasting too many words describing them!!!! LOL! There's the unforgettable ' Uriah HEEP' in David Copperfield, and in THIS auspicious story, I nearly spat out a mouthful of tea when a dapper young chap was introduced as ' Dick Swiveller'!!!!!! The thing is, how on EARTH did he get away with that in Queen Victoria's England????? Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua
A nice adaptation, compared to the 1995 it has a darker look, starker lighting, less colour, less humour, etc. One big negative though, the actress playing Nell just doesn't look like a child. There's a lack of energy to some of it too, like they haven't properly woken up or something.
