Wow Stevie, good shit. SWV were poppin my senior year in high school in '92/'93. Weak and Let's Chill by Guy were my jams at the time among other genres ,hip hop, alternative Rock, grunge. All the music back then just seemed more special. I'm sure that's part nostalgia but still it was a moment for sure.

Grew up on SWV. 90ʻS music is the best music.
I graduated high school in 1990 and this music is absolutely nostalgic. It was a time when lovers expressed themselves through music and with the words, we made connections to the hearts of young ladies and young ladies did the same to young men. We sent messages of love and forgiveness through notes and cassettes. Much of the music today is vulgar, violent, vicious and petty which is why I don't listen to much of the current music...the energy is off-balanced.

You're exposing your generation, if you proclaim the 1990's as top-tier R&B. As a pre-1980 Gen-Xer, NOTHING compares to the Soul & R&B music of the 1970's & 1980's. The 1990's is when the genre started to die (early 90's)...and rap music was bastardizing everything 🙄 The R&B sound was becoming more & more over-produced and losing its core.
