A gracious couple - so lovely that they took the time to acknowledge Rich's time and energy.
Thank you Dianne. 😊👍
Beautiful houses!
I'm going to be heading down to Mexico on the 20th sometime that week I'm going to be flying in the Guadalajara be nice to meet you. I plan to live there when I retire John
I loved the 3rd property, it was picturesque and beautiful. Their only complaint was the location, they didn't want to be at the center of everything. For me, I consider that an additional selling point of that house. I noticed the kitchen was small but it was open so will do that. Outdoor living at its best in this house.
Muchas Gracias John🙂👍
really????
That's a dream house 👍🇲🇽🌴🌺🌴🌴
Love your videos... great content and to the point. Can't wait to come down and retire in about 7.5 years
I really like the first house👍
I was there about 2 years ago. Most of the land surrounding Ajjijic i was told was unstable or shifting and the housing costs artificially inflated from all the expats. The lake is becoming less polluted but not sure i would swim in it.. There are much better places in Mexico.
@@RichVarney you need to go back to Europe!
@@mariaelenaestrada4480 🤣🤣🤣
U r probably right Mike. I lived in Guadalajara for 12 years and know that to be true 👍. Expats and snowbirds are keeping prices up on lake Chapala. And those people looking for homes around 1 million dollars. What did those people do in Texas? I mean I am presently in Texas and no one earns that kind of money. Maybe they won the lottery 🤔 who knows 🤷...lol. And please don't attempt to swim in the lake anyone. There r crocodiles in it. But costs are definitely artificially inflated there. The inflation and the recession after that will probably dry all $$$$ coming to the area. And why would only 2 people need such a huge place ?
I liked house #1.
Yep, I agree. The hacienda is a very special property.
Yes we want. 3bedroms home farm home
A want your cell number
To bay. A home
Nice Video! Tips that would have helped us out:
We never learned the asking prices of any of the properties.
We would have liked to hear the couples comments when THEY WERE IN THE HOME, so we could keep each one straight. As it was, we got most of what they were saying, but about half of it we couldn't figure out which property they were talking about.
That last house, with the pillars around the deck, did we even get to see any of the inside of it? Seems some of the other houses were limited on what you showed us.
We also never heard how many sq. ft. they were, of actual inside space. We understand most places add the covered patio space, so inside is essential.
And, we didn't learn how large the lot size was. This is very important to us because many houses seem to be on postage stamp sized lots. For us, that wouldn't do at all.
Otherwise, a very nicely done video.
Thank you very much. All the best Rich
Nice
Thanks Alfonso😊👌
How are things in the time of covid
The houses are just as expensive as in the states!
Yes... however no views
The cost of living in Mexico is much cheaper than the states.
That is due to competition with other Americans. The same thing happened in Costa Rica and Belize.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. Move to a city like Ciudad Guzman where there are few Americans.
here in america the tiny house movement has been pretty big, is there any tiny house communities there?
@Luz Renteria I was talking about the tiny houses on wheels they have here in the U.S. , was wondering if they have any like the ones we have here.
I wonder if it’s a better investment to have the 500,000 in stocks which is probably increasing 15 to 20% a year rather than tie it all up in a property , especially when the Peso to Dollar valuation is just dropping each year. You can always Airbnb with some great deals when you travel and then you’re not tied down to one place you can travel in many different places. Yes if you’re going to live there year-round it does make sense just on a place to do what you want with it and be happy.
Thanks from expat living in Medellin Colombia. Can you message me on the price of the first property if still available or if sold what is the price of that home so I have and idea of the area. Also with lake is there boating and fishing bird hunting maybe? Thanks kindly
Hi August,
Thanks for your comments!
The first house on the list is sold I'm afraid. As for all the videos I do, you'll find the price and property information in the description of each video. As you see it below here.

Get a lawyer before you do anything. Mexico laws can be tricky and confusing you need backup of professional help that knows the ropes 😳
I'd also recommend that you work with a reputable real estate company. Always, ask around for recommendations who to work with. As a professional real agent, I always recommend my clients a meeting with the notaries, mexican lawyers that specialize in mexican real estate law.
This is for important questions regarding recent changes in the law, permits to buy real for foreigners and capital gain tax advice when selling among other topics. A reptable notary is essential when doing real estate deals. My team consists of real estate professionals, notaries, accountants, immigration lawyers, architects, contractors in all aspects of building and renovating.
When you work with a good team of professionals it makes the whole process of buying and selling real estate as smooth a possible. Thanks for your comment! Cheers Rich
Cheers Rich
A good real state agent and a reputable notary public (these are lawyers always and much much better than the ones in the USA) are enough. Mexican laws are as confusing as the ones in any other part of the world.
Your absolutely right Grant. I myself live in Vallarta and so if anyone one tells you that you can own a house or land here in Mexico and are not a citizen they are lying to you. YOU HAVE TO BE A CITIZEN so you can own the deed. There are so many scams and if you fall for them then there's nothing you can do about it.
MVP That’s what I thought!
Lawyers are tricky..
Hi Rich. What would be the lowest priced listing that you have available? I am single, retired, need a small place, one bedroom, area and view not important. I am handy, so I can repair or renovate,
HI Bob, Thanks for the comment...would something like this be of interest chapalamls.net/properties/recently-added/condo-tio-domingo-5575

Love, love, love these house hunting videos. More please. I'm with Monica & Steve, privacy and views are tops. Your the best.
@@RichVarney great condo for the price.
@@RichVarney Certainly worth consideration. I was there, renting all winter, went back to Canada March 15 for the pandemic. Ill come and see you when I get back. Probably wait a couple more months until we see if this monster plague subsides?
Missed opportunity not listing property prices. Makes a big difference in terms of interest and evaluation.
All information regarding sizes, prices ect is in the description of every video i upload. Cheers Rich
Just in case here it is again. Cheers Rich

@@RichVarney -Great. I appreciate the info. I understand.... but understand that most viewers will be drifting over myriad videos and would surely value the inclusive and immediate approach - especially when many won’t know to do this, and indeed, many (especially if older) don’t know ‘about’ this amenity on a video. Sounds peculiar, I’m sure...but human attention is a finicky beast (sadly). Anyway... thanks again.
@@i.m.9918I totally understand. Thanks for the comment. All the best 👍
I love the music
Thank you!!
Which track in particular to you like?

You are getting ripped off. Should be much cheaper than 1/2 million.
To much for this house
All these are old you are posting!
It was posted last year Deborah. New videos on there way this week...cheers Rich
First time and they are looking to buy? Best to rent in different areas first to learn the pros and cons. If you’re going to get that uncomfortable when a guy comes around to serenade you, you won’t last.
I couldnt agree more! Then again they said they are been to Mexico a few times and they may have an idea what they are getting into. Cheers!
That is the best part! The people!! If people don’t like “people”stay in North America!……
In Mexico?? Isn't is dangerous out there? I guess some areas...
House Hunting in Mexico.
This is a joke..me and my wife try to buy vacation home there..but very bad experience..considering this is country full of corruption and burocracy..very nasty experience..my wife is Mexican citizen..just in case..
But is your own decision..nothing again mexico is only the system..pretty bad and complicated. MEXICO IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!
Buying a house in USA is beyond the income of millions and millions of working people
or retirees. Plus property taxes go up every single year.
I know the feeling Eddy. I think you need a good amount of luck to be success in this crazy world. Also helps, being in the right place at the right time, and be willing to learn, improve and take a few risks along the way. After all that, there is still no guarantee. Cheers Rich
I am retired and have a lovely home on an acre of land in Arizona. Would never move to Mexico.
I dont think USA citizens should not own properties in Mexico due to historical issues in the past. When Mexico had Texas and wanted people to immigrate to Texas Anglos took over Mexico. There is an issue with this that if an Anglo dies, or gets untrouble for not understanding Mexican customs USA citizens complain for a pro invasion. This is known still today with the Anglo family Lebaron in the state of Sonora. If Anglos dont like something about Mexico they always propose a military solution for Mexico. Your from the UK I dont know how you got the ability to sell houses this is the issues of corruption a foreigner having a job that should not have it in the first place. This is an issue as Mexicans we will take to our former Mexican govt. If people want to be in Mexico they are going to have to prove their Mexican nationality.
HAHAHA, I dind't know there were Mexican hill Billies. Los ciudadanos y los goviernos son muy diferentes, no los puedes poner en la misma "canasta".
This has to be fake. SCAM
