Its been years and I'm back here realizing how far the original cast has come. Like we started with Athrun being with Zaft and Kira with Orb now its really switched. Can't believe I'm actually seeing Kira live out his life as a Zaft Commander and Athrun as an Orb Admiral. Goes to show it doesn't matter what side you're on what matters is what you're fighting for. THIS IS STILL MY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME. NOTHING CAN REPLACE IT.
I dont think this anime ever die, i watched it when I was really young and never understood the core matter of the GS , GSD but more i grew up and re watched it , it touches me deeply. The english dub, also makes every character very real and relatable. This anime is just so REAL!!!!
If they truly want to shape a brighter future, they had to take part in being part of the military again. Only now, they are in command and Kira, Athrun, Shinn, Kagali, and Lacus have to do what's right for the world and the plants. Despite how they may feel about returning to it deep down. Kira was just a normal college student living in Heliopolis Athrun wanted to help the cause for his own personal reasons, but was misguided by his father and Ra la Courset. Kagali just wanted to help her nation by fighting for what felt right, but she didn't exactly know what to fight for at first. Shinn was confused, lost, frustrated, and angry with the loss of his family and took out that anger out on the battlefield, the governments of the world, and everyone that stood in his way, yet he knew Gilbert Durandals destiny plan for everyone didn't feel right. And Lacus, a girl who saw the unfortunate loss and pain of others on both sides (Coordinators and Naturals) wanted peace for everyone both on earth and the plants, but even Zaft tried to have her assassinated under Durandals orders. They really are so young and have delt with so much, despite some of them not wanting to take part. Otherwise, they too would've perished at any given moment on the battlefield more likely. War really is complicated.
SEED was such a fucking masterpiece. It taught many values, and it also taught how important neutrality is to be able to see the truth in both sides of a story. Because Kira didn't kill Shin, there's a probability that he'll learn Kira and his crew's ideals, and that will be passed down to many people.

Thing is it’s easy to shoot at a machine without thought because it’s a machine. But when you realize that there is another human inside that machine it changes everything. It becomes nearly impossible when you have actually not only seen but met that other person. That’s way Kira struggled so much when fighting both Athrun and Andrew Waltfeld, they stopped being the enemy when they became other humans. Shinn is very much like Kira, they have gentle hearts.
"The pilot of the Freedom? You mean... you're guy who fucked up my efforts to save Stella and got her killed?!" Pulls out gun and shoots Kira's brains out to avenge Stella.
I think some people might be confused on whether Cagalli and Athrun got back together, but it seems that there is a lot of evidence that points to them rekindling their relationship. There are hints of it in the anime but I believe it’s even more prominent in the manga, GSD The Edge. For example: 1. The scene where Cagalli and Athrun share a hug before the Archangel leaves for space is depicted much more beautifully in GSD The Edge. In Phase 19 of Volume 5, their hug takes up an entire page. In addition, there’s nothing in the background. It was as if when they hugged, they were in their own world and everything else was background noise. 2. They do not show it in the anime but after the Archangel had taken off to space, Athrun shares a conversation with Kira. During which, Athrun thinks to himself that him and Cagalli have gone their own paths. However, destiny or the roles they have to play have no part in that decision. Instead, they “take the path [they] chose to borrow” (Phase 19, Vol 5). When Athrun says “borrow,” it is implied that going their own paths is a temporary situation (probably need to focus on ending the war first). Athrun even goes to add “so that our paths may cross again, I will protect that future” (Phase 19, Vol 5). Instead of adding these scenes in the anime, they added more scenes with Meyrin? There’s no scene where Cagalli entrusts Athrun’s safety to Meyrin in GSD The Edge. Meyrin also did not come along to meet with Meer Campbell in GSD The Edge. In my opinion, she may have been given a larger role in GSD because she was popular with the anime’s immediate audience (people of Japan) and thus, would boost viewer ratings. Many people say that Athrun may see Meyrin as an obligation, but I wouldn’t word it like that. I do believe Athrun and Meyrin have grown to become great friends, but the lack of intimacy between the two speaks volumes. Despite Meyrin walking with Athrun in one of the last scenes, there’s considerable distance between the two with Meyrin facing his back. Athrun’s facial expression also shows no sign of affection for Meyrin. I believe there is a great amount of respect between the two, but ultimately not romance. The biggest point to make is that Athrun remains in ORB as a commander. With many of his friends joining/rejoining ZAFT (Kira, Lacus, and Meyrin), I can only assume that Athrun remains in ORB because he feels there is unfinished business there (Cagalli). I’m proud of Athrun for not only remaining in ORB, but for also climbing the ranks. In contrast to the beginning of GSD where he held no political power as Cagalli’s bodyguard and the majority of their relationship was spent in the shadows, Athrun can now better provide Cagalli support publically as a commander. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that remaining in ORB is Athrun’s efforts to realign their paths at a pace they are both comfortable with.
@Michael Oates Situation awareness on Logos and other deep state establishments would be unknown, hence the Lacus Faction has hidden themselves and waited for deep state players to reveal themselves. Lacus Faction played a similar role as Gundam 00's Celestial Being's role.
The two women are the ones now in political power (Lacus being...I wouldn't say manipulative, but she IS a very calculating person at this point, it's undeniable, managing to get her way in BOTH wars...then her bae, the best of the best of the entire factions and military, can easily massacre anyone if she so decides to sic him on you...it's like she holds the button of the nuclear bomb) , and their respective men are their Knights. Who happen to be the strongest pilots thus far in the Seed series. Now along with Shinn in ZAFT, it's like, lol, woe be brought if anyone attacks Orb or PLANT. And considering how Kira/Athrun/Lacus/Cavalli are so interconnected, they'll no doubt work together.
Cagalli's character is so powerful. I love cagalli and athrun, lacus and kira. If it's possible to have part 3 of this or even just a movie... Where The three pilots will help each other to survive in The battlefield including cagalli and lacus.. thanks
Yzak was most likable character cuz no matter how much "I Hate" speech he spouted he is kind person...apart from the fact he wasnt always like that, the time when he shot at that civilain aircraft 😂
Yzak has some of the best character growth in the entire series and all that is because Kira decided to forgive him and not hold a endless grudge. It’s one of the main messages of the series, forgive and fight for total peace, build a better world together.
Well, considering the fact that both parents of Lacus and Yzak were the members of PLANT Supreme Council, those two are deserved for their respective seats and positions.
I love Cagalli and Lacus. They are my favorite characters in both Seed and Destiny aside of course from Kira. Love watching this over and over again. So nostalgic... i still remember how i was so addicted watching this when i was a kid. Thankfully it’s available here. The best anime.👌

Searching for the garden they lost in the distant past, forbidden from ever returning to it? But time only flows one way, that's why I believe that what we're really searching for still lies ahead. Somewhere in our future, though there may not be a tree of life, I'd like to think that some day we will fashion a garden with our own hands. One where we can live in peace and in happiness.
Women in Seed and Destiny are so badass! Look how Murrue Ramius captaining the Archangel, Talia Gladys with the Minerva, Cagalli Yula Attha leads the Orb, and the most badass woman Lacus Clyne with the Eternal and leads the PLANT... GIRLS YOU ROCK!!
One of my 4 complaints about Destiny is that Lunamaria deserves better than Shinn. SOOOOOO much better. The women in this series where mostly treated with a great deal of respect, but 'we gotta ship the one main girl with the main guy.'
Had to rewatch Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny cause I missed them soooo much.. The fact that Kira is my favorite will never change.. And his love for Lacus is sooooo pure like where in this world can you find someone like him! Then to satisfy my Athrun x Cagalli heart, I badly wanted to see Athrun being with Cagalli again but I know its not possible bec Cagalli is sooo busy but the fact that Athrun representing Orb in this finally part fed my heart.. Cagalli loves Athrun 4ever!
Aina Pauline Though the person who covers the Wiki love interests will not state it (essentially because Wiki isn't always accurate in most cases), the director confirmed that Athrun did remain with Cagalli. There's also anime music clips with concepts by the director to showcase the main pairings of the series as is, that being with LacusxKira and AthrunxCagalli. Also noted of the most obvious, obvious reasoning is that Athrun is wearing the Orb Admiral uniform, clearly indicating that he remains by Cagalli's side. Fans didn't get the hug and kisses scene they had hoped for the best GS couple, but with that uniform there, it's pretty much facts thrown in the face of whose side Athrun belongs to. I still don't understand why people base Meyrin as a possible love interest because of the last scene with her walking by him side by side. That's like saying Naruto ended up with Sakura and we know that didn't happen. Yeah, she had a thing for him. But no, there's no room for there to be a relationship unless he actually decided to remain in ZAFT. He's with Orb. That movie never happened, but had it been so, it would have shown the AsuCaga for the win, I'm more than positive.

With this English version of the ending where it's Athrun's voice, makes it clear that he and Cagalli will be together again, plus he's wearing and Orb uniform and he said "what we're searching for.. "with Cagalli in the background. Thanks much for this. At least it eased my mind, 😁 the reason they showed only Kira and Lacus hug is for Shinn, Luna and others to see who the real couple are, we know abt Meer's role here. so yeah I love this!!

It took Kira two minutes (and a few fights) to change change Shin forever. What a strong 1-2-3 punch those 3 are now, whoever starts a war against them is fucked. Kira will show him the way and keep him on the right path.
Beautiful moment... I remember watching this scene when i was a kid and i almost gonna cry 🤦♂️No matter what they say Seed and Destiny will always be my favourite Gundam show... The Freedom and Justice is so Iconic... I still they hope there is a sequel of it 🔥❤
It was good to see Shinns mentality grow as he accepted to fight alongside with Kira and Athrun. The writers could’ve made another season where it covered the alliance formed from Shin Athrun and Kira, Kira and Lacus got married a no brainer and the romance between Athrun and Cagalli which would be interesting plus other characters have had growth in the anime. Overall an amazing masterpiece of an anime. Sunrise never disappoints.
In the episode where they go to the mall at the moon they kiss offscreen, they just play a smooch sound while they show Athrun and Meyrin going all "uhh not looking" like 😳
Athrun has returned to Orb with Cagalli. Well, that is what I think is implied with him wearing an Orb Admiral uniform. I'm still hoping for that movie Sunrise promised us.

Stellar is also included in the movie so i was hoping that they're giving us an answer on her statement that "she is given a tomorrow". How sad. But still hoping to see a movie. It's been my fav.
I know it's your opinion, but it's like loving an old sandal to the point that you don't care what it does whether good or bad. I find the old cast ok, but they're are times we have to let go of things.
@@altmaster8973 I have to admit that in GSD, the majority of fanbase likes Kira, Athrun, Cagalli and Lacus. The amt of haters for Shin and Co is huge. The only one relatively loved amg the new characters is meyrin. Besides it's his own preference, so it's fine. Not like anything would change anyway
After years since I've watched this as a kid I finally understand shinn's character because I was confused halfway and the end of the series...you can't blame him from being arrogant, vengeful and hateful to others bruh his whole family was killed when he was a kid that must've traumatized him and he just lost his way and no one was there for him... even though he's hated in the series his still my favorite character.
Don't know about everyone else but I loved Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny...though admittedly I fast-forwarded through a lot of the Shinn, Yuna & Stella parts...those characters were unbearable for me. Once the focus got back to the Archangel and Cagalli started acting like Cagalli again, I loved it. Still my favourite anime ever!

I hated the first part of Destiny cause it focused on ZAFT pov which I loved but Shinn... he made me not like his personality at the start as he wanted peace which is good but greedy with his power... Although the story line is great but the director's wife :3 forgot the name kinda fucked up Shinn... he would've been amazing if he was similar as Kira or Athrun but was easily manipulated.

There are several reasons why people don't like him and one of those is that he gets emotional for stupid reasons. The biggest example of why people disliked him occurred when Kira killed that blond chick because she was out of control and causing mass genocide in the giant Gundam. If Kira didn't do that, she would have killed EVERYONE, so he had no choice. Shin got emotional and wanted revenge against Kira for doing that when he doesn't know anything about her. He was like: "You killed my sorta girlfriend that I JUST met that I don't know anything about but could possibly get laid with because I saw her naked once. So I'm gonna kill you for that even though you had every justifiable reason to and probably saved thousands of lives in the process and the deed of killing her could have just as easily been achieved by my teammates." There are reasons why people dislike him and they are all justifiable.

Athrun walking with Meyrin doesn't mean they're a couple. Meyrin was Athrun's obligation, she helped him to escape. He owes her, nothing more. He's wearing an ORB's military uniform, he will stay in ORB. Maybe he's just a representative of ORB when we saw him with ZAFT's soldier meeting Lacus but eventually he will come back to ORB. Actually Cagalli still has that ring and she cherishes it. If Arthrun didn't care about Cagalli, why did he become an ADMIRAL, which happens to be the top position meaning that anyone of that position will be closer to the leader like how commander is (talking about Kira and Lacus) so I think he did something similar to what Kira did for Lacus. And also, Meyron was walking behind him and not beside him if they were in a relationship I think that they would be walking side by side and AT LEAST holding hands (or head on shoulders like Lacus and Kira) instead of her following him. Also, I'm pretty sure they came together with Shinn and Luna and the only reason they are leaving is to give Shinn more time and the reason Luna is staying is cause she is his girlfriend (I mean duh why else). Athrun and Kira are basically like Mayrin's big bro with her big sis an elite pilot with her bf shin, plus she got 2 other big sis which are cagalli and lacus. She's basically *THE MOST* well protected woman in the seed universe. Anyone that tries to hurt her would just end up getting overkilled
I just finished watching Destiny today and wow I loved it. It feels so real, I couldn’t imagine how it felt watching it back when it came out. It had a realistic ending, showing that in order to have peace one must always be ready to fight for it. I’m happy the fanbase finally got a sequel 20 years later, y’all deserved it.
Shinn, LunaMaria or even Arthur and the rest of Minerva's crew are shocked to see Kira and Lacus embrace because they thought that Athrun and Alcus are still engaged. They have no idea on the relationship of Athrun and Cagalli.
We need a sequel to Seed Destiny with Kira, Athrun and Shinn on the same side. Since the Destiny Gundam is destroyed, Shinn can use Gaia (as a tribute to Stella) or they could just salvage Destiny's good parts and combine it with Impulse to build the Destiny Impulse Gundam. It would be cool to see all the Seed users in one team.

i know this is late but destiny Impulse already exists they just never built it. it never got out of planning stage cause it was unstable and massive power hungry
Honestly, have not seen it yet...I've seen all UC stuff from 0079 to Stardust to Unicorn to even G-Savior...then a bunch of alternate like IBO, SEED, Wing, X, and just finishing up the manliness that is Mobile Fighter G. Afterwards, Turn A is next on my list and then G-Reco...I guess the Build series after. I keep hearing Age is bad though. Like, almost Seed Destiny levels of bad, or least worst than G-Savior.

Just finished watching gs and gsd again. Sad that there's no scene where athrun and cagalli are together on the last episode 😢 instead, athrun is with meyrin on that special moment when shin finally met kira??? It is better to see those 3 couples together (kira x lacus, athrun x cagalli, shinn x luna) in 1 picture 😫 why do they have to show that athrun is with meyrin when they left the memorial place. You know what i mean? Hahaha I just really want to see cagalli and athrun together. You know, athrun guarding cagalli. Kira guarding lacus hahaha

Rewatching this series after nearly 10 years. Must say I really love Shinn, he's my favourite character from Gundam Seed Destiny, followed by Flay from the first series. If you lost your whole family in a war, won't you act like him too?

That's true! So much with these perfect characters. They will only make you feel like you are just watching a dang show! Shin is an example of a usual individual, very realistic! Cause in reality, it wasn't that simple to just move on and forget everything knowing that it's just 2 or 3yrs after the tragic death of your family. 2 or 3yrs?? Come on, you haven't been properly bid them goodbye. You are an ordinary citizen holding the promise of those in positions then suddenly your family die in instance. If they're on Shinn's position, what would they feel?? I dunno for them, but for my opinion the production made a well define approach to Shinn's character. I just don't get why people hate him that much.
Haha I think it's because most of the audience never bothered to put themselves in Shinn's shoes and see things from his perspective. They just go around bashing him like nobody's business without understanding how he feels. They only want those 'good' characters who never do anything bad no matter what their circumstances are like because that's what these characters 'should have' done. That's why we keep getting those boring, one-dimensional, unrelatable protagonists in shows. I absolutely agree with you about Shinn, he was a very refreshing change! A protagonist (at least in the first half of Destiny) who is actually realistic. I love him so much! He is the character I related to the most in Destiny. I am soooo glad to have met you, people who think like us are so rare! HAHAHA
Also, I'm really upset about the ending. Until the very end they haven't even give him a fine closure. Like I mean, Shinn played a big roll with Durandal's victory. He fought on his side no matter how things gets screwed up, believing that Durandal's decision will bring out peace. Yet in the end they just let Durandal die without letting Shinn shows his realization and voice out his side or clears things out with him. Where in fact if there is someone who should witness the death of Captain Glady's, Durandal, and Rey, it should be Shinn not Kira. Since these 3 people molded his character for the entire series. I'm not hating Kira, but it is just more appropriate if it was Shinn. Well I'm also glad to meet someone who view things realistically and more after a new and interesting storyline that never usually seen in other shows. And I just realize recently, probably people don't understand Shinn is because they keep on skipping his parts or anything related to him and just focus only on their bias LOL
Kira the best, as always, my my favorite character. Also i think no i am sure that athrun and cagall are together. There is a detailed, very long article on the Internet about moments in the series and about characteristic symbols and phrases and positions that make it clear what happened between them. Though Athrun and Meyrin walk together, I guess it's more of an obligation for him to take care of Meyrin cause Meyrin was put in danger because of him so it's his duty to take care of him. And I don't see any sweetness between them while walking unlik Lacus and Kira. I believe that he chose to stay at ORB.

Hey Kira Yamato have the most unique character and pilot in gundam series, he's never target pilot cockpit and just destroy hand, leg or gun in end of series and even in game his move set is from how he saber enemy without targeting cockpit
I love this anime. Out of all the Gundams. Seed and destiny are my favorite! I hope the creator could have push for the movie that was promised to us. Ugh. I will have loved see what was stored for them as commander and progress a little more in their personal life.
Its been years and I'm back here realizing how far the original cast has come. Like we started with Athrun being with Zaft and Kira with Orb now its really switched. Can't believe I'm actually seeing Kira live out his life as a Zaft Commander and Athrun as an Orb Admiral. Goes to show it doesn't matter what side you're on what matters is what you're fighting for. THIS IS STILL MY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME. NOTHING CAN REPLACE IT.
I dont think this anime ever die, i watched it when I was really young and never understood the core matter of the GS , GSD but more i grew up and re watched it , it touches me deeply. The english dub, also makes every character very real and relatable. This anime is just so REAL!!!!

Athrun wanted to help the cause for his own personal reasons, but was misguided by his father and Ra la Courset.
Kagali just wanted to help her nation by fighting for what felt right, but she didn't exactly know what to fight for at first.
Shinn was confused, lost, frustrated, and angry with the loss of his family and took out that anger out on the battlefield, the governments of the world, and everyone that stood in his way, yet he knew Gilbert Durandals destiny plan for everyone didn't feel right.
And Lacus, a girl who saw the unfortunate loss and pain of others on both sides (Coordinators and Naturals) wanted peace for everyone both on earth and the plants, but even Zaft tried to have her assassinated under Durandals orders.
They really are so young and have delt with so much, despite some of them not wanting to take part.
Otherwise, they too would've perished at any given moment on the battlefield more likely.

SEED was such a fucking masterpiece. It taught many values, and it also taught how important neutrality is to be able to see the truth in both sides of a story. Because Kira didn't kill Shin, there's a probability that he'll learn Kira and his crew's ideals, and that will be passed down to many people.
Kira would have been a much better mentor if they changed the roles from the start

Thing is it’s easy to shoot at a machine without thought because it’s a machine. But when you realize that there is another human inside that machine it changes everything. It becomes nearly impossible when you have actually not only seen but met that other person. That’s way Kira struggled so much when fighting both Athrun and Andrew Waltfeld, they stopped being the enemy when they became other humans. Shinn is very much like Kira, they have gentle hearts.
"The pilot of the Freedom? You mean... you're guy who fucked up my efforts to save Stella and got her killed?!" Pulls out gun and shoots Kira's brains out to avenge Stella.

I think some people might be confused on whether Cagalli and Athrun got back together, but it seems that there is a lot of evidence that points to them rekindling their relationship. There are hints of it in the anime but I believe it’s even more prominent in the manga, GSD The Edge. For example: 1. The scene where Cagalli and Athrun share a hug before the Archangel leaves for space is depicted much more beautifully in GSD The Edge. In Phase 19 of Volume 5, their hug takes up an entire page. In addition, there’s nothing in the background. It was as if when they hugged, they were in their own world and everything else was background noise. 2. They do not show it in the anime but after the Archangel had taken off to space, Athrun shares a conversation with Kira. During which, Athrun thinks to himself that him and Cagalli have gone their own paths. However, destiny or the roles they have to play have no part in that decision. Instead, they “take the path [they] chose to borrow” (Phase 19, Vol 5). When Athrun says “borrow,” it is implied that going their own paths is a temporary situation (probably need to focus on ending the war first). Athrun even goes to add “so that our paths may cross again, I will protect that future” (Phase 19, Vol 5). Instead of adding these scenes in the anime, they added more scenes with Meyrin? There’s no scene where Cagalli entrusts Athrun’s safety to Meyrin in GSD The Edge. Meyrin also did not come along to meet with Meer Campbell in GSD The Edge. In my opinion, she may have been given a larger role in GSD because she was popular with the anime’s immediate audience (people of Japan) and thus, would boost viewer ratings. Many people say that Athrun may see Meyrin as an obligation, but I wouldn’t word it like that. I do believe Athrun and Meyrin have grown to become great friends, but the lack of intimacy between the two speaks volumes. Despite Meyrin walking with Athrun in one of the last scenes, there’s considerable distance between the two with Meyrin facing his back. Athrun’s facial expression also shows no sign of affection for Meyrin. I believe there is a great amount of respect between the two, but ultimately not romance. The biggest point to make is that Athrun remains in ORB as a commander. With many of his friends joining/rejoining ZAFT (Kira, Lacus, and Meyrin), I can only assume that Athrun remains in ORB because he feels there is unfinished business there (Cagalli). I’m proud of Athrun for not only remaining in ORB, but for also climbing the ranks. In contrast to the beginning of GSD where he held no political power as Cagalli’s bodyguard and the majority of their relationship was spent in the shadows, Athrun can now better provide Cagalli support publically as a commander. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that remaining in ORB is Athrun’s efforts to realign their paths at a pace they are both comfortable with.

Yzak has some of the best character growth in the entire series and all that is because Kira decided to forgive him and not hold a endless grudge. It’s one of the main messages of the series, forgive and fight for total peace, build a better world together.

Had to rewatch Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny cause I missed them soooo much.. The fact that Kira is my favorite will never change.. And his love for Lacus is sooooo pure like where in this world can you find someone like him! Then to satisfy my Athrun x Cagalli heart, I badly wanted to see Athrun being with Cagalli again but I know its not possible bec Cagalli is sooo busy but the fact that Athrun representing Orb in this finally part fed my heart.. Cagalli loves Athrun 4ever!
Aina Pauline Though the person who covers the Wiki love interests will not state it (essentially because Wiki isn't always accurate in most cases), the director confirmed that Athrun did remain with Cagalli. There's also anime music clips with concepts by the director to showcase the main pairings of the series as is, that being with LacusxKira and AthrunxCagalli. Also noted of the most obvious, obvious reasoning is that Athrun is wearing the Orb Admiral uniform, clearly indicating that he remains by Cagalli's side. Fans didn't get the hug and kisses scene they had hoped for the best GS couple, but with that uniform there, it's pretty much facts thrown in the face of whose side Athrun belongs to. I still don't understand why people base Meyrin as a possible love interest because of the last scene with her walking by him side by side. That's like saying Naruto ended up with Sakura and we know that didn't happen. Yeah, she had a thing for him. But no, there's no room for there to be a relationship unless he actually decided to remain in ZAFT. He's with Orb. That movie never happened, but had it been so, it would have shown the AsuCaga for the win, I'm more than positive.

It was good to see Shinns mentality grow as he accepted to fight alongside with Kira and Athrun. The writers could’ve made another season where it covered the alliance formed from Shin Athrun and Kira, Kira and Lacus got married a no brainer and the romance between Athrun and Cagalli which would be interesting plus other characters have had growth in the anime. Overall an amazing masterpiece of an anime. Sunrise never disappoints.

After years since I've watched this as a kid I finally understand shinn's character because I was confused halfway and the end of the series...you can't blame him from being arrogant, vengeful and hateful to others bruh his whole family was killed when he was a kid that must've traumatized him and he just lost his way and no one was there for him... even though he's hated in the series his still my favorite character.

I don't understand why people hate on shinn hes and amazing character and i relate to him this scene is amazing how emotional he gets.
There are several reasons why people don't like him and one of those is that he gets emotional for stupid reasons. The biggest example of why people disliked him occurred when Kira killed that blond chick because she was out of control and causing mass genocide in the giant Gundam. If Kira didn't do that, she would have killed EVERYONE, so he had no choice. Shin got emotional and wanted revenge against Kira for doing that when he doesn't know anything about her.
He was like: "You killed my sorta girlfriend that I JUST met that I don't know anything about but could possibly get laid with because I saw her naked once. So I'm gonna kill you for that even though you had every justifiable reason to and probably saved thousands of lives in the process and the deed of killing her could have just as easily been achieved by my teammates."
There are reasons why people dislike him and they are all justifiable.

Athrun walking with Meyrin doesn't mean they're a couple. Meyrin was Athrun's obligation, she helped him to escape. He owes her, nothing more. He's wearing an ORB's military uniform, he will stay in ORB. Maybe he's just a representative of ORB when we saw him with ZAFT's soldier meeting Lacus but eventually he will come back to ORB. To stay with Cagalli.

No no, as you see Athrun and Cagalli is over. Remember how Meyron put her life to protect Athrun. No one pulls that off except Meyron. The reason she did is obvious, she loves Athrun, and supported him entire time. She is the best waifu material. She is not the obligation to protect, like Meer Campbell. If she was then, Athrun would brush her off like he did with Meer og Lunamaria. And ending, Meyron followed Athrun that gives hint about their relationship. I ship them really hard. Cagalli and Athrun is over. Remember Cagalli took off the ring that Athrun gave her in previous episodes while she starts in charge of the Orb. Besides they didnt show further development of their relationship, means they are over, but stays friends. But obviously the ultimate couple of the whole series is Kira and Lacus, and Captain Murrue Ramius and Mu Laflaga.
Actually Cagalli still has that ring and she cherishes it. If Arthrun didn't care about Cagalli, why did he become an ADMIRAL, which happens to be the top position meaning that anyone of that position will be closer to the leader like how commander is (talking about Kira and Lacus) so I think he did something similar to what Kira did for Lacus. And also, Meyron was walking behind him and not beside him if they were in a relationship I think that they would be walking side by side and AT LEAST holding hands (or head on shoulders like Lacus and Kira) instead of her following him. Also, I'm pretty sure they came together with Shinn and Luna and the only reason they are leaving is to give Shinn more time and the reason Luna is staying is cause she is his girlfriend (I mean duh why else). Also Cagalli was getting ready for treaty so she couldn't be there. ALSO (this is most important one) one of the DIRECTORS of the show said that they get back together.

Athrun and Kira are basically like Mayrin's big bro with her big sis an elite pilot with her bf shin, plus she got 2 other big sis which are cagalli and lacus. She's basically *THE MOST* well protected woman in the seed universe. Anyone that tries to hurt her would just end up getting overkilled

I just finished watching Destiny today and wow I loved it. It feels so real, I couldn’t imagine how it felt watching it back when it came out. It had a realistic ending, showing that in order to have peace one must always be ready to fight for it. I’m happy the fanbase finally got a sequel 20 years later, y’all deserved it.
Shinn, LunaMaria or even Arthur and the rest of Minerva's crew are shocked to see Kira and Lacus embrace because they thought that Athrun and Alcus are still engaged. They have no idea on the relationship of Athrun and Cagalli.

We need a sequel to Seed Destiny with Kira, Athrun and Shinn on the same side. Since the Destiny Gundam is destroyed, Shinn can use Gaia (as a tribute to Stella) or they could just salvage Destiny's good parts and combine it with Impulse to build the Destiny Impulse Gundam. It would be cool to see all the Seed users in one team.

Honestly, have not seen it yet...I've seen all UC stuff from 0079 to Stardust to Unicorn to even G-Savior...then a bunch of alternate like IBO, SEED, Wing, X, and just finishing up the manliness that is Mobile Fighter G. Afterwards, Turn A is next on my list and then G-Reco...I guess the Build series after. I keep hearing Age is bad though. Like, almost Seed Destiny levels of bad, or least worst than G-Savior.

Sad that there's no scene where athrun and cagalli are together on the last episode 😢 instead, athrun is with meyrin on that special moment when shin finally met kira??? Rewatching this series after nearly 10 years. Must say I really love Shinn, he's my favourite character from Gundam Seed Destiny, followed by Flay from the first series. If you lost your whole family in a war, won't you act like him too?

That's true! So much with these perfect characters. They will only make you feel like you are just watching a dang show! Shin is an example of a usual individual, very realistic! Cause in reality, it wasn't that simple to just move on and forget everything knowing that it's just 2 or 3yrs after the tragic death of your family. 2 or 3yrs?? Come on, you haven't been properly bid them goodbye. You are an ordinary citizen holding the promise of those in positions then suddenly your family die in instance. If they're on Shinn's position, what would they feel?? I dunno for them, but for my opinion the production made a well define approach to Shinn's character. I just don't get why people hate him that much.
Haha I think it's because most of the audience never bothered to put themselves in Shinn's shoes and see things from his perspective. They just go around bashing him like nobody's business without understanding how he feels. They only want those 'good' characters who never do anything bad no matter what their circumstances are like because that's what these characters 'should have' done. That's why we keep getting those boring, one-dimensional, unrelatable protagonists in shows.
I absolutely agree with you about Shinn, he was a very refreshing change! A protagonist (at least in the first half of Destiny) who is actually realistic. I love him so much! He is the character I related to the most in Destiny. I am soooo glad to have met you, people who think like us are so rare! HAHAHA
Also, I'm really upset about the ending. Until the very end they haven't even give him a fine closure. Like I mean, Shinn played a big roll with Durandal's victory. He fought on his side no matter how things gets screwed up, believing that Durandal's decision will bring out peace. Yet in the end they just let Durandal die without letting Shinn shows his realization and voice out his side or clears things out with him. Where in fact if there is someone who should witness the death of Captain Glady's, Durandal, and Rey, it should be Shinn not Kira. Since these 3 people molded his character for the entire series. I'm not hating Kira, but it is just more appropriate if it was Shinn.
Well I'm also glad to meet someone who view things realistically and more after a new and interesting storyline that never usually seen in other shows. And I just realize recently, probably people don't understand Shinn is because they keep on skipping his parts or anything related to him and just focus only on their bias LOL

There is a detailed, very long article on the Internet about moments in the series and about characteristic symbols and phrases and positions that make it clear what happened between them. Not up to understanding, a disagreement, both have matured and will now be together, but at a completely different level. In any case, we are waiting for 2022, continuation! I love this anime. Out of all the Gundams. Seed and destiny are my favorite! I hope the creator could have push for the movie that was promised to us. Ugh. I will have loved see what was stored for them as commander and progress a little more in their personal life.
