@Dave Cockayne the motors are actually hobby king motors with low cost custom controllers. I believe the batch of 10 mini cheetahs they made were about $10k each for everything, which includes 12 motors. Check out Ben Katz's blog, lots of good info on it there.
Small is good! Cheaper to build, less likely to break or to injure someone!

There are no gears. So that's the speed motor actually turns at.
@@JamesAwokeKnowing actually it has gears. But reduction ratio is really small and motor has about 150kv, probably.
