The best aspect of this whole movie is every single setup is paid off or called back to at the end of the movie. Having the same conversation with the same people in a different context and being asked if he's ever done different things only to have them both do all the things. Perfection.
In case no one mentioned it, Angel's girlfriend, with the beautiful eyes, is Kate Blanchett. Also, Father Christmas, who was on screen for less than a second, was Peter Jackson. Yes , the director of The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit was also disguised beyond recognition.
Always worth mentioning that the Blanchett cameo was a subtle f-you to the studio. Wright was asked to put more big names in the movie (ironically given that they already had a former James Bond and the villains were a veritable who's who of British theatre and movie greats), so they put in a cameo where the big name actor was mostly disguised.
When they were casting for the film, they wanted an actor with the acting chops of ex-James Bond, Timothy Dalton. After much deliberation, someone suggested they ask TD himself, apparently, after reading the script he signed up straightaway. He's quoted as saying he's never had a better time on set, and even turned up one early morning when they were filming Simon Peggs prospective of a scene between them, so Simon would have someone to react with. There're two Oscar winning actresses in it, Cate Blanchett and Olivia Colman, it's stuffed full of actors from Game of Thrones and Harry Potter, Billie Whitelaw, the hotel owner (hag) was the main villain in one of the original horror films "The Omen", Paul Freeman, the vicar/clergyman/priest is the main villain from "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Edward Woodward, the chairman of the NWA was the original "Equaliser" from the US tv series, and was the original "Wicker Man", decades before Nicholas Cage had a try at it, fun fact, his last line "oh god no" in this, is exactly the same line as it is in the Wicker Man.
You missed one of the biggest names from this movie: Bill Bailey, known for his role as Manny on Black Books, but probably best known for being Bill f***ing Bailey. Also there's David Bradley who, among other things I'm definitely not going to mention (due to a curse from an evil witch), played The Doctor in a couple episodes of Doctor Who (as well as different Doctors in a few other Doctor Who related media).
I can't believe I missed the "oh god no" connection, I already loved the Wicker Man before Hot Fuzz came out, I was so happy to see Ewar Woowar in the role...I guess if he'd been screaming "OH JESUS CHRIST!" I'd have caught that...damn my smooth brain
This film tends to be people's favorite of the trilogy, and from a technical standpoint, absolutely perfects the Wright genre-comedy formula. The last one, "The World's End," takes the tools and techniques solidified here and uses them to actually try to say something real; for this reason, it doesn't lean as hard into the entertainment factor, but it also makes it my personal favorite.
There are a few things that many won’t notice in Hot Fuzz. Not knowing them doesn’t distract from your enjoyment but they are markers of attention to detail: firstly Janine is played by Cate Blanchett and the Man Dressed as Father Christmas” was played be Peter Jackson, who didn’t know his scene had been cut to two seconds until he saw the film at the premier. Later on, when Sergeant Angel disarms Simon Skinner in the model village, Skinner’s gun smashes through the model of his own supermarket and the van that he later trips on is also from that supermarket. Those sort of details highlight the care given to details in this film.
This film has been praised by the police for its accurate portrayel of the amount of paperwork involved. The village judges were played by simon and nicks parents. Originally there was going to be a love interest for Angel but then they cut the character and gave most of the lines to Danny which is why some scenes look more intimate than just friends.
Aside from everything else that makes this film great: I've lived in the West Country and while obviously exaggerated for comedy, this is EXACTLY what these small towns are like!
great reaction by someone who genuinely gets under the skin of this movie. You made me laugh along with you, even though I knew the jokes that were coming along.
Edward Woodward, the cult elder named Tom Weaver, played the out of town detective sent to investigate a string of rural murders in the classic 1973 horror film The Wicker Man. His casting in this adds another level of irony. Woodward also starred in the 1980 film Breaker Morant, about a political court martial during one of the Boer wars. It ran on cable quite a lot in the early eighties earning itself a fan following in the process. That led to Woodward starring role in four seasons of the original television series The Equalizer, which has since turned into a Denzel Washington film series and a Queen Latifah television series which also ran four seasons. Also, did you notice that Detective Sergeant Andy Wainwright bears a striking resemblance to King Viserys I Targaryen in House of the Dragon?
Great reaction as always! I have to agree with you that every second of the movie is perfect. One of my fav comedies! It was good to see you enjoy it. Enjoyed watching it with you!
Check out the songs playing as Dalton drives past. Dire Straights "Romeo & Juliet". Arthur Brown "Fire". Bill Bailey plays both desk officers, one with curly hair, one without. One reads a book by Iain M. Banks, the other a book by Iain Banks. Same author - his fiction was under the name Iain Banks, his science fiction under the name Iain M. Banks. The Hotel owner shoots ACROSS the street shouting "Fascist". Angel shoots the flower basket which drops DOWN onto her head "Hag". This film is full of subtle touches that you only spot after watching it multiple times...
Hello Aria C, the " Yarp Guy " was " The Hound "- " Sandor Clegane " in the " Game of Thrones ". " Paul " would be their next movie with something like a zombie.
I noticed in a recent watch that the NWA is sitting behind Angel during the "Romeo and Juliet"and their smiles scream "These two are gonna DIE tonight!"as the song is playing. Lmao, I still love that the giant gun collection were just found somewhere.
I'm sure someone already mentioned this but in case they didn't the judges at the miniature town setup was the real-life mothers of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
Lovely reaction to a great movie! This is my personal favorite of the "trilogy". Also, I love the lightning in this video! I don't know if it's the sun, or if you did something with the lights or the camera, but I like it!
My favorite movie and favorite line... Narp. Bad Boys is your prototypical buddy cop genre that this movie spoofs. Point Break is also another example of over the top action movies of the era. It's actually a decent movie too. This made the shooting up in the air yelling ahhh famous. You don't have to see both movies as long as you familiar with that type of movie.
The most realistic cop movie ever. All the paperwork. The lazy detectives. The experienced officer teaching the less experienced one to be more observant, use the pocket notebook, etc. What's his story? Oh, that's Lurch. Go on. He's a trolley boy at the local supermarket. Uh-huh. Real name Michael Armstrong. Mmm-hmm. Dad says he's got a child's mind. Okay. He lives up Summer Street with his mum and his sister. And are they as big as he is? Who? The mum and the sister? Same person. (Proof positive that real police officers had a hand in making this movie.)
😎👍 Just want to let you know that there are two equally famous movies titled "Bad Boys" out there. The one from 1983, starring Sean Penn and the one from 1995, starring Will Smith. You're going to really enjoy the 3rd installment in this trilogy. It's a little more like the first one in that it includes some paranormal elements. 😉
"Are we going to see a vampire in this one?" Well, in a roundabout sense, kind of. Chief Inspector being played by Bill Nighy, aka Underworld's Viktor :P
The Cornetto comes from th part that one person thought a cornetto in the morning was a good hangover cure, and thats why ed asked for it, it only linked because of the colour red cornetto for zombies, blue for the police, , and green is the last, now there is another unofficial pegg and frost movie called Paul. Notice angles number is 777, they wanted a timothy dalton type to play skinner but then someone said why not ask him.
Not all, but A LOT of the characters last names correlate to their role in the movie. Tiller, Skinner, Reaper, Merchant etc. Possibly the Andies being like the twin mountains (Andes)... not sure about that one tho.
15:30 I'm not sure that Juliet's method of dispatching herself, nor the inclusion of a Cardigans song were the original intention of The Bard of Avon.🤔 21:31 Point Break all day...that's an awesome movie. 👍 24:26 One of the most unexpectedly extremely violent deaths I've seen in a film...love it. 🤣 33:10 Yup, you kinda nailed it early on, everybody is in on it. Smart and lovely, a dangerous combination, to be sure. 😻
Have you seen the version of Romeo+Juliet they were referencing? That's the one from the 90s with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Definitely my favorite adaptation of the story and a beautifully shot movie. He also did The Great Gatsby and Elvis.
I love how you're so concerned with missing references to other media, but you seem to catch a lot of jokes that other reactors have missed - especially the call-backs to early set-ups (like Mr Treacher's long winter coat and the farmer's gun-toting mum) bonus trivia, Mr Treacher's actor, Tim Barlow, was a seasoned firearms expert, so seasoned that he lost his hearing when testing a new rifle for the British Army in the 1950s
so as usual perfect done Aria, (bad boy bad boys whatta gonna do about it) have a marvelous weekend till the next reaction, greetings from the Netherlands
Back when Seth Rogen was still funny and putting out banger movies. IMO, Superbad, Knocked Up and Paul are infinitely rewatchable. Shame to see a guy that is so gifted making comedies, waste away his time on Twitter.
Janine was played by Cate Blanchett as a cameo, which is funny because you never see her face! Also, the Father Christmas who stabs Nicholas in the flashback is played by LotR director Peter Jackson!
You said the same lines so many times, amazing! You were in tune with the movie! Great British actors, Americans recognize them from Harry Potter, Lod of the Rings, James Bond. (and Star Wars/Star Trek). I think you laughed at every joke! See Minnie and you next time!
I normally knock a few points of a Hot Fuzz reaction when people refer to all these CLASSIC British actors as "The guy from Harry Potter"... But Aria gets a pass, coz she's COOL!
Fantastic review,an a fantastic movie you can watch again an again, the dirty joke at the church fate with the pig,I didn't see that joke till about the fourth time I watched it.
The third movie is very good, too. Maybe not as entertaining but just as tightly scripted and, for me and (from reading comments to other reaction videos) for many others, The World's End has a pretty deep emotional resonance. It's the movie that made me notice Paddy Considine. I got to like the actor so much, I even tried to watch House of the Dragon for him. Sadly, I fell out of love with the GoT universe many years ago and HotD didn't change my feelings, so I haven't watched your reactions ot it and I don't know if watching the actor who played King Viserys is a big draw for you. I hope you will enjoy the third movie of the Cornetto trilogy. I'm sure I'll enjoy your reaction to it.
"splat the rat"! Ive seen this movie a dozen times and I just noticed that! This movie is so great with all the little set ups and telegraphing. A master class in screenplay and direction.
Another in-joke Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost added starting in "Hot Fuzz" and continued with "The World's End" was hiring former James Bond actors to star in their genre comedies. Timothy Dalton here and Pierce Brosnan in the next one.
The “Cornetto trilogy” is a trilogy in the sense that the all share much of the same cast, feature Cornetto Icecream, and are each a spoof of different genres of films, Zombie movies, Buddy Cop movies, and something else for the third one.
When you complete the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, you should check out Pegg and Frost's other movie together, "Paul". Then, watch Pegg's movie "Run Fatboy, Run", and Frost's "Cuban Fury".
A brilliant not-sequel to Shaun Of The Dead in a Trilogy that isn't really a Trilogy. Reminds me of the connection between Pineapple Express, This Is The End, and The Interview. Cheers and Happy Weekend to all Ya'll out there. 🥃☮❤🍦 1:52 Starting out with "Goody Two Shoes" by Adam Ant (an absolute banger from four decades ago) is a strong move. 5:06 Well, it's not entirely not anything like "An American Werewolf In London". Just no supernatural stuff.
The Cornetto Trilogy is not a single connected story. Each movie is a separate story with different characters. All three are directed by Edgar Wright, and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and sometimes sharing other cast members. They share the same comedic style while different comedies. It's more an anthology than a trilogy. She with the pretty eyes is Galadriel. A model of the model town. ruclips.net/video/b-B187JcBRo/видео.html the real star of the movie, Ian Holms as the ambulance attendant.
So, actor Rafe Spall, who played the obnoxius young employee of Foree Electronics store where Shaun worked in SotD, was one of the 'Andys' and he's a great actor. If you saw the first Christmas episode of "Black Mirror" he's in that with John Hamm, as well as other great films and TV series. Then, Paddy Considine, who played the other Andy (with the biggest moustache), is an amazing actor and he's in "The Worlds' End" - part 3 of the Cornetto trilogy - and recently turned in a stunning performance as Viserys in "The House of the Dragon". He also directed a movie that's a drama (with a hard D) called "Tyrannosaur" starring the Queen that is Olivia Colman, who was Police Office Doris in this film. It's a hard watch about domestic violence and also featured Eddie Marsen who is also in "The World's End" and was in "Deadpool 2" and plenty of other great films. You should definitely watch all of Edgar Wright's films. "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and "Baby Driver" are both so great, and while I didn't immediately love his first foray out of comedy, the giallo-inspired horror/suspense film "Last Night in Soho", it's still a really good film, incredibly shot and directed, as always.
Did you just get bored or did you really just not bother to mention that Timothy Dalton was James Bond, Edward Woodward, was Breaker Morant and the Equaliser? lol.
Huh, interesting I never noticed the name of the store was Foree. Wasn't Ken Foree one of the main actors in the original Dawn of the Dead? That must've been an intentional reference.
Tyrannosaur is such a powerful film. That, Dead Man's Shoes, amd his double take to Simon Pegg after the "fridge magnate" murder in Hot Fuzz consists of the pinnacle of Paddy Considine's career ❤
@@dougoneill7266 - Haha, not bored but had to grab a work call and sent the comment before I finished. Yes, moving on, so many of the NWA (that in itself is a funny play on the rap/hip hop group NWA with means something very different) have been in well-known films. Billie Whitelaw, who played Joyce who ran the inn, was in the 1976 horror classic "The Omen"; Edward Woodward starred in "The Wicker Man" which is widely considered as the greatest folk horror film of all-time; and Paul Freeman played Belloq, Indiana Jones' nemesis in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Also ... "Hot Fuzz" was shot in Edgar Wright's hometown of Wells and he has a brief cameo as a trolley boy in the supermarket when he walks across the frame quickly pushing a tall stack of groceries going to the shelves. He worked in a supermarket in town when he was young, although I can't remember if it was the same one they shot in. Also ... In addition to Cate Blanchett's great cameo as Janine, the guy who played Bob - who does not look like the type of guy that she would go out with - was played by film director Joe Cornish, who wrote and directed the criminally underrated and sadly little known horror/sci-fi/action/comedy film, "Attack the Block", which also featured Nick Frost in a small part, along with pre-Star Wars John Boyega and the brilliant Jodie Whittaker from "Broadchurch" and "Dr. Who" (she was the 13th Doctor and the first female Doctor in the show's history).
Nothing clever for me to say this time. I enjoyed the reaction. Looking forward to the next one. ... i hope it was German chocolate cake at 5am... The coconut frosting is my favorite and reminds me of my childhood birthdays.
When you're done with the Cornetto trilogy, be sure to check out Paul. Another great comedy with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and, in my opinion, much funnier than The World's End. The only thing that could make it better is if they added in a Cornetto!
I didn't love "Paul" on first watch but I figured out it was because it wasn't directed by Edgar Wright so I wasn't used to see Simon & Nick in a film without Edgar's signature directing/editing style. On subsequent viewings it's really funny with other great comedy actors like Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, and Kristen Whig. Still don't like it as much as the Cornetto Trilogy, but a fun watch for sure.
33:00 "The castle. What's up with the castle?" That can often be chocked up to the continent. Europe is _replete_ with medieval and renaissance architecture that has been maintained _solely_ for the sake of its historical significance.
People Don't always notice some of the characters names Nicholas Angel - virtuous person Danny Butterman - sounds like butterball a type of fattened turkey Tim Messenger - common name for local newspaper George Merchant - a person who trades in goods Roy and Mary Porter - a dark beer Rev Philip Shooter - someone who shoots Dr Robin Hatcher - Delivered Danny when he was born Simon Skinner - Someone who removes the skin from animals PC Bob Walker - Dog walker Peter Ian Staker - Piss Taker Mr Treacher - Meaning someone treacherous Martin Blower - Blows like his acting Eve Draper - meaning to cover or lay over something Arthur Webley - name of a British gun manufacturer James Reaper and his Mum Mrs Reaper - someone who harvests grain
10:01 "Did you cook any fools?" "Excuse me?" "Did you _shoot_ anyone?" 🤦♂You know, time was, police work was generally understood to revolve around _paperwork._ You got good with your sidearm, because it was a tool of the job, but you also got good with your pen, because that was an arguably more _important_ tool of the job. The understanding was that you wielded the pen right, today, and you wouldn't have to reach for your gun, _tomorrow._ Forward thinking. Foresight, because _preventing_ a crime, _before_ it's committed, is indisputably more important than catching the criminal _after_ it's committed. If you'll pardon the metaphor, every dime spent on _vaccines_ can save you ten bucks on _cures._
The movie does a great job at misdirecting. At first you are practilly told Skinner (played by James Bond Timothy Dalton in a scene stealing performance) is the culprit, then you think: "Nahhhhh, too obvious." just to discover that he was indeed guilty (though as part of a conspiracy). This may be my favorite of the trilogy. The World's End has another James Bond actor (Pierce Brosnan).
I have coworkers who immigrated from various parts of the world: English is their second language, and can be frustrating for them. I show them the northern farmer scene, and after some laughs, it's better.
10:54 you could be onto something there! So different from Shaun of the Dead but so many great call backs. Another great reaction all done, of course, for the greater good! 😄
I’m afraid you are definitely missing film references but even the biggest film and tv buffs will also be missing some because there are so many every character’s name, the streets names, camera shots, blocking, music, all film genres, time periods it’s endless I really don’t think anyone could spot every reference
sorry for the few weird cuts here and there, I had to edit this later after uploading and i'm still not very good with the yt editor🙃
In keeping with the use of cuts by Edgar Wright!
😮 @ariachanson01 do you play the guitar still? I might be able to get you something guitar related you might like!

“I don’t know why I said that,” solid intuition would be my guess
I love that the movie manages to be a hilarious comedy and also a genuinely exciting action movie! So well made.
Timothy Dalton - the underrated Bond. 🍸
Not the popular opinion, but one I 100 per cent agree with. My favorite Bond by a fairly wide margin.
Dalton was considered to be the Bond closest to the character as he had originally been written by Ian Fleming
I grew up with Roger Moore, but Connery is my favourite Bond, closely followed by Dalton. Scottish Bond just pips Welsh Bond.
Agreed. And exquisite comic timing. "If I were to bash your skull in all kinds of secrets would come tumbling out”
Agreed. He's a fantastic actor with a panther-like physical presence. I think he was let down by the movies not having the strongest plots.
The best aspect of this whole movie is every single setup is paid off or called back to at the end of the movie. Having the same conversation with the same people in a different context and being asked if he's ever done different things only to have them both do all the things. Perfection.

Good decision, it ended up playing well as an echo of the overtly intimate Point Break relationship between Reeves' and Swayze's characters.

Not all, but A LOT of the characters last names correlate to their role in the movie. Tiller, Skinner, Reaper, Merchant etc. Possibly the Andies being like the twin mountains (Andes)... not sure about that one tho.
@@RustCole01 they are both called Andrew and talking to them is an uphill struggle from the lines in the movie
@@Greenwood4727 That uphill struggle line seemed to be him pointing out that they are similar to the Andes Mountains in that respect.
15:30 I'm not sure that Juliet's method of dispatching herself, nor the inclusion of a Cardigans song were the original intention of The Bard of Avon.🤔
21:31 Point Break all day...that's an awesome movie. 👍
24:26 One of the most unexpectedly extremely violent deaths I've seen in a film...love it. 🤣
33:10 Yup, you kinda nailed it early on, everybody is in on it. Smart and lovely, a dangerous combination, to be sure. 😻
Dunno. Shakespeare was a wild one. I wouldn't put it past him
When the Woman in the hotel says "you've always been here" It's a reference to the film - The Shining.
Have you seen the version of Romeo+Juliet they were referencing? That's the one from the 90s with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Definitely my favorite adaptation of the story and a beautifully shot movie. He also did The Great Gatsby and Elvis.
No I haven't seen these yet...
Lucy Punch doing the Claire Danes Juliet is so funny! BANG!
I read that as "He also did The Great Gatsby with Elvis"...
I love how you're so concerned with missing references to other media, but you seem to catch a lot of jokes that other reactors have missed - especially the call-backs to early set-ups (like Mr Treacher's long winter coat and the farmer's gun-toting mum)
bonus trivia, Mr Treacher's actor, Tim Barlow, was a seasoned firearms expert, so seasoned that he lost his hearing when testing a new rifle for the British Army in the 1950s
so as usual perfect done Aria, (bad boy bad boys whatta gonna do about it) have a marvelous weekend till the next reaction, greetings from the Netherlands
glad you watched this one! LOVED your reactions! 👍☺
I cant praise this film enough. I HIGHLY recommend 'Paul' if you haven't seen it already.
Back when Seth Rogen was still funny and putting out banger movies. IMO, Superbad, Knocked Up and Paul are infinitely rewatchable. Shame to see a guy that is so gifted making comedies, waste away his time on Twitter.
Solid reaction. Thank you.
Janine was played by Cate Blanchett as a cameo, which is funny because you never see her face! Also, the Father Christmas who stabs Nicholas in the flashback is played by LotR director Peter Jackson!
And one of the constables is played by Martin freeman aka Bilbo
Oh my god. Right when you were asking yourself if you’d ever seen Point Break, a notification came up for a reaction to Point Break from itsaprimate🤣
😂😂😂
You said the same lines so many times, amazing! You were in tune with the movie! Great British actors, Americans recognize them from Harry Potter, Lod of the Rings, James Bond. (and Star Wars/Star Trek). I think you laughed at every joke! See Minnie and you next time!
When they are taking the short cut through the yards, Nicolas is me 20 years ago. Danny is me now.
This was great! A very fun reaction!😊
I normally knock a few points of a Hot Fuzz reaction when people refer to all these CLASSIC British actors as "The guy from Harry Potter"... But Aria gets a pass, coz she's COOL!
thankyou... I feel happyyyy
"Who is she? She has such pretty eyes?"
A: Cate Blanchett. Oscar-winning actress from Oz.
The editing is so great in this movie
Some of the greatest editing of any film of the past 20 years, for me. Purposeful, dynamic, and comedically genius.
The editing in every movie by Edgar is insanely great.
@@reservoirdude92You need to watch more movies.
Another in-joke Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost added starting in "Hot Fuzz" and continued with "The World's End" was hiring former James Bond actors to star in their genre comedies.
Timothy Dalton here and Pierce Brosnan in the next one.
Bill Nighy voiced a Bond Villain in an audio book apparently, though I admit that is tenuous!
The lady with the big walkie talkie is a reference to the first season of the tv show MI-5.
The “Cornetto trilogy” is a trilogy in the sense that the all share much of the same cast, feature Cornetto Icecream, and are each a spoof of different genres of films, Zombie movies, Buddy Cop movies, and something else for the third one.
Edgar Wright's masterpiece imo.
When you complete the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, you should check out Pegg and Frost's other movie together, "Paul". Then, watch Pegg's movie "Run Fatboy, Run", and Frost's "Cuban Fury".
There are only a handful of movies I would 10/10 and this is one of them
A brilliant not-sequel to Shaun Of The Dead in a Trilogy that isn't really a Trilogy. Reminds me of the connection between Pineapple Express, This Is The End, and The Interview.
Cheers and Happy Weekend to all Ya'll out there. 🥃☮❤🍦
1:52 Starting out with "Goody Two Shoes" by Adam Ant (an absolute banger from four decades ago) is a strong move.
5:06 Well, it's not entirely not anything like "An American Werewolf In London". Just no supernatural stuff.
49:51 there is never a wrong time for cake.
_Any_ time is good for chocolate cake -- especially if you have it with vanilla ice cream!
Hence the expression 'Chekov's Sea Mine'
Don't worry Aria, you are doing well.
Did you just get bored or did you really just not bother to mention that Timothy Dalton was James Bond, Edward Woodward, was Breaker Morant and the Equaliser? lol.
wait, that's the same fucking guy?!
After you finish the Cornetto Trilogy, you should check out "Run Fatboy, Run" and "Paul," both of which star Simon Pegg.
(20:27) Nope they _didn't_ interview her - her head was in the road as well, remember?
Another movie with really slick scene transitions is "The Fifth Element", which like this film has many funny parts too!
11:46 I didn't remember that "no luck catching them killers then" was a callback
Nothing clever for me to say this time. I enjoyed the reaction. Looking forward to the next one.
... i hope it was German chocolate cake at 5am... The coconut frosting is my favorite and reminds me of my childhood birthdays.
it was chocolate truffle cake :)
@@ariachanson01 Can you put coconut-pecan frosting on chocolate truffle cake...
When you're done with the Cornetto trilogy, be sure to check out Paul. Another great comedy with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and, in my opinion, much funnier than The World's End. The only thing that could make it better is if they added in a Cornetto!
I agree. Paul is an underrated movie. It's pretty funny however.
Fun fact: the actor that played Detective Sergeant Wainwright was in Moloko's video "Familiar feeling", he played Roisin Murphy's boyfriend.
His dancing on that video was top notch, but apparently he's a big NS fan so...
Edgar Wright great direction yes the merchant was a red herring
Hi Aria!
Thank you ☺Your charms dazzle me 😉
And, even though I didn't doubt about it
I'm glad to see Hot Fuzz delighted you...
33:00 "The castle. What's up with the castle?"
That can often be chocked up to the continent. Europe is _replete_ with medieval and renaissance architecture that has been maintained _solely_ for the sake of its historical significance.
People Don't always notice some of the characters names
Nicholas Angel - virtuous person
Danny Butterman - sounds like butterball a type of fattened turkey
Tim Messenger - common name for local newspaper
George Merchant - a person who trades in goods
Roy and Mary Porter - a dark beer
Rev Philip Shooter - someone who shoots
Dr Robin Hatcher - Delivered Danny when he was born
Simon Skinner - Someone who removes the skin from animals
PC Bob Walker - Dog walker
Peter Ian Staker - Piss Taker
Mr Treacher - Meaning someone treacherous
Martin Blower - Blows like his acting
Eve Draper - meaning to cover or lay over something
Arthur Webley - name of a British gun manufacturer
James Reaper and his Mum Mrs Reaper - someone who harvests grain
Callahan Park: Dirty Harry
Norris Avenue: Chuck Norris
love the actor guy in the movie Filth who plays the daddy cop in this film
Having lived in rural england, the local characters are so on the money it's scary.
the Receptionist was the evil nanny in the Omen
Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World would be so nice to watch for you i think :)
10:01 "Did you cook any fools?"
"Excuse me?"
"Did you _shoot_ anyone?"
🤦♂You know, time was, police work was generally understood to revolve around _paperwork._ You got good with your sidearm, because it was a tool of the job, but you also got good with your pen, because that was an arguably more _important_ tool of the job.
14:37 Case in point.
You really have to have a particular kind of mind to write a screenplay as intricately hilarious as Hot Fuzz ❤
2 down, 1 to go...then Paul, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim...
It’s like a mixture of the wicker man and an old Ealing comedy 🎭
I have coworkers who immigrated from various parts of the world: English is their second language, and can be frustrating for them. I show them the northern farmer scene, and after some laughs, it's better.

i like that they made it up to Dire Straits in this one.
I love that Hot Fuzz has the world record for the fastest car chase in film 14:29
Nick's CSU girlfriend is played by Cate Blanchett.
I’m afraid you are definitely missing film references but even the biggest film and tv buffs will also be missing some because there are so many every character’s name, the streets names, camera shots, blocking, music, all film genres, time periods it’s endless I really don’t think anyone could spot every reference
