Well, guess I have to fly from London to Minneapolis now.
Stay tuned for a BtB and Brickmania partnership event happening soon near you. More details coming soon. :)
Wow I’m far from both those places I think. I live in Las Angelas
Fabrizo Catalano your so lucky it’s gonna be close to you sometime
DEFINITELY DONT GO TO MINNEAPOLIS RIGHT NOW AS I TYPE THIS
Fax
Was just at the store in the mall of America, so cool.
I have been to the mall America
@@evanruge6434 My friend named evan went to the mall of America 1 month ago lol
I bought stuff from that store, unfortunately that same store has closed down.
It closed
I love Brickmania but it seems that they are spending more money on stores and other things for their store designs. Other than just trying to get their kits cheaper
JSchnabs55 to get their kits cheaper LEGO would need to give them their pieces cheaper
Lil_fish13 if they have money to open more stores and market etc, then there is a gap between the cost of pieces, and the price they are charging for the value-added. I think the original commenter was just trying to point out that, if there is so much money being made on that difference to fuel all this brand expansion, then there’s room to lower prices
Steven Gordon well part of growing a business is expansion, but if they get big enough, maybe LEGO would consider giving them a discounted price. I’m not disagreeing I just think there’s two sides to every story. Every store they open, is the opportunity to build a customer base, the more people buy, the bigger the company has the potential of coming. Which would help LEGO with reproduction of historic models.
If you break down the labor, rent, and other costs associated with production, this is a steal.
So six employees, $15 an hour, plus taxes is almost $25 per employee per hour? So $150 per hour, eight hours a day, $1200 in labor, 20 days a month, is $24000 in labor, plus a rent of 5k comes to $30000 a month.
Divide that by $200/ kit, gives 150 kits per month they need to sell at all profit. So with a 25-30% cost you're talking 9k spent on parts for 21k profit.
To break even they probably need to sell 300 kits plus per month, per store.
Cobi makes it cheaper ...
This is coolest thing I've seen, a specialty store for the lego building fans. I like the idea. My grandfather was in battle of the bulge with the US Army - Armored tank (sherman tank). I really appreciate someone who recognized WW2 , even if it's with the
lego toys. I have to get myself a sherman tank lego, very cool. I think anyone who builds lego tank will spark there interest to read or go online to learn more about the war. My family fought in three major wars with Army, Navy, marines and we're proud of what they did to protect our country. Well done !
I’m blown away at the incredible detail that went into each piece. Keep up the good work!
Used to play with Legos as a kid. It's crazy to see how far they've grown culturally. Wild to see that private companies like this have rights to sell and build their own. Very cool video! Looks like a great shop.
@hslegofilms1340 Once again someone criticizing something they don’t understand🤦♂, not a scam in the slightest. The reason for their high prices comes from the fact that they don’t make their own bricks, they must buy them second hand in new condition (not cheap). They also need to design the model, the instructions, custom figs, printed elements, 3d printed elements, packaging, marketing, and the list goes on. Sometimes as much as 20+ people are involved in a products creation before it reaches the hands of the consumer (and their not getting paid minimum wage). Also because they have no other choice due to part scarcity, some models only get as low as 50 copies in which all of cost of the time, effort and development must be recouped in those low production numbers in order to make any profit and make new models. But yeah, go ahead and call them scammers if think you could do all of this for cheaper, learn your facts before you makes claims like that.
How does brickmania stay in business? They are ridiculously expensive. Over 400$ for not even an 1000 piece tank
never overestimate the interests of the bored rich :D haha gotta love living and dying for capitalism lol
Basically from what I understand they can't really sell them for a cheaper price. Lego is a gigantic company, they manufacture their bricks and can therefore get them for cheap whereas Brickmania is a rather small independent company which has to buy bricks from third parties (trust me bricks can get extremely pricey, even more so for specific bricks in certain colors because of their rairity). Combine this with the time it takes to design these, rent and all sorts of expenses and you get these crazy prices. I'm not saying these kits are inexpensive but at the very least they are high quality. What's nice tho is that you can get the instructions for the sets, if you can manage to source the bricks yourself you might end up saving a lot of cash.
I'll put it this way, they've been in business for 18 years so they must know what they're doing...
I remember his first kits online and was blown away when I first discovered them.
youre paying for more than just the pieces, your paying for the design as well. Theyre also a 3rd party lego seller so obviously the price is going to start changing when you look at per brick. This is clearly a store meant for a niche group of people into modelling or military legos specifically, which is most likely how its also stayed alive; the prices may be a bit higher but at the same time its one of the very few of its kind. For someone with the disposable income and passion for legos/military vehicles, then this is something that definitely fits that ticket.
Not many sellers have good quality Lego kits that LEgo refuses to touch
Can't wait to come visit. Going back up to Minnesota in a couple weeks, was blown away by the store in the mall!
Been waiting for this for ages, I'm so happy with this
I’ve lived in Minneapolis my whole and my favorite place to go to is the brick mania store. I remember when the brick mania store was in the Mall of America
Good God those are expensive...but when they're actually set you can tell the quality of the builds.
Yeah they are top quality builds. It takes time and money to design those and they need to make some profit, so thats why they are so damn expensive
@@alis.8146 I actually went the other way, from doing military plastic kits to military Lego. I stopped building conventional plastic model kits for a variety of reasons; like paying for more paint than I'll use for the kit, my wife's concern over cement/paint fumes, and having to exclude my son who's still too young for the hobby. When I do military Legos though, I don't buy Brickmania kits for the most obviou$ rea$on. But I do buy their instruction books and try to source the parts myself. It's considerably cheaper that way and I get a very gratifying sense of fulfillment comparable to having built and painted a conventional model kit. I don't really get the people who buy Brickmania kit after kit and spend lot$ of money each time. Where's the fun in that?
@Zane Black What does that mean? You bought a kit from them and they didn't deliver it?
@Thelower Terrarian Maybe. But Cobi uses too many specialized pieces so you can't just dig through your Lego pieces or order from Bricklink if you want to build a Cobi model.
@Thelower Terrarian Cobi sucks.
Those Cobi pieces can't hold.
Love BrickMania products and the time and love that goes into the kits... I don't have any because I am poor but ooohhhh man, if I ever win the lottery Dan better watch out lmao
If you are patient enough, sometimes after a kit has been out for a year or two, they publish the instructions for it in one of their books and provide a parts list. Buying the instructions and then purchasing the pieces from independent sellers on BrickLink will save you a ton of money. For example, when they first released the X-Craft submarine kit, it was $450. The kit has been discontinued but they recently released the instructions and parts list for it in their Overlord Bricks book. The book retails for $60 and all the parts you need for it can be bought on Bricklink for around $100. On top of that, the book also contains instructions for over a dozen other models!
what a exiting store, I like this magnificent Missouri Battleship Model thats a real eyecatcher
I see everything as parts. Back in the day I would buy kits just to get a couple of parts for an idea I had. Build the kit then immediately take it apart for my projects. I miss those days.
Is this place still alive after the riots ???
Hopefully.
Why would a person do crime to get LEGO kits 😂
@@slimemyhouse9877 Because they are worth money...
Razer I know but grown adults robbing for LEGO...
@@slimemyhouse9877 People do stupid/weird stuff when they need money and can rob others without getting arrested... Remember the guy that was almost quitting youtube because someone broke into his house and broke most of his legos and even stole legos from him (Even tho the person who did that left behind some expensive lego sets)...The world is filled with sad and moronic people.
Holy cow I'm so pumped for the store in VA. Going somewhere local definitely beats driving up to MN!
Congratulations on 500k! I've been enjoying your videos for a very long time now.
Thank you!
Love the vids you are such an inspiration to me and my friends
Thanks for watching!
Simply amazing. Congratulations.😃✌️
cool! Ive been to this store before!!! it was last year, I think I bought an RPG and a Sniper and a grenade, still have them in my collection. Love these guys, They were nice.
This is by far my favorite video in the channel.
I've been trying to build weapons out of bricks, but those are the most realistic and hard worked Lego sets I've ever seen. I'm interested in military stuff even if im a kid.
I'm happy that there's a store all around the U.S
Wow - what a great store... would be amazing if you branched out to London (hehe) - the army MOC’s you make are sensational and that ship is epic... good work beyond the brick :) great vid
Can't wait to go there
This looks amazing
Damn I remember seeing the blacksmith's shop in the catalog when I was a kid.
Awesome store!
I wonder if they got looted because of the riots
Probably
Alex De La Torre in the video he said there gonna end up moving to a bigger space.
I hope not
They're closer to Brooklyn Park and Columbia Heights, the riots were in Minneapolis, much more city center.
They did not
I could stay stay here all day...
Awesome!
I think ur videos are so good.😊
so expensive
Yes i agree. Well some sets are not so expensive but i don't want to buy a tank for 300$! Yes there are so cool but soo expensive :/
Mother Russia you say that but Lego sells their biggest set (millennium falcon 7541 pieces) for $800. Their biplane which was way under even 6000 pieces was $200 more.
I’ll even throw in a TL:DR sense you’ve shown me you didn’t do your research.
TL:DR: LEGO is cheaper even if you consider brick mania has a production cost that inflates their prices. They are just as money as Jake Paul with a new merch line.
So please don’t call people a dumbass without any research.
Mother Russia before I start beating a dead horse YOU have to realize that Lego has all the same problems. So even if you factor in the price of obtaining/making their bricks it’s still way to high.
@Mother Russia People can have an opinion you know you don't have to be dickhead about it.
Mother Russia there’s no reason for a boat to cost 1900$
I have a business trip to Minneapolis in October, normally I hate business trips but this time I'm stoked! I'll be able to get some stuff directly from the store finally.
Awesome! Tell them we sent you. ;)
@@BeyondtheBrick will do!!
Man! This store is amazing! So many unique sets, figures, decals.
I kind of wish there was a sort of warhammer game you can do with those sets so you can have fun playing in the waaAAAA- @11:50 you crazy guys! You did it! I didn't even get to finish my comment and you already made it! I love you guys!
sometimes i go to the brickmania website and just add all the stuff i want into the cart, then dream of a day that I will be able to afford all of it. Then, the next day, I see my spoiled friend getting all sorts of things from brickmania. to quote blueface, "Life is tough, so suck it up, and dont forget to swallow"
I wanted to go, then saw the prices... 400 dollars for a set that, for a similar size and similar piece count, would cost 90 dollars in Lego, not sure if I want to pay that much
Buildarmy and Brickwarlord have cool ww2 Lego
amazing place
Now we need a Lego train store. And to be able to sell them at hobby stores as well.
I remember when the brickmania store in the moa was open, I used to go there to buy as many brickarms as possible, it really made me happy, so sad they shut it down. 😭
HEY I WAS THERE 4 YEARS AGO XD if only I met you (thinking back, actually more like 6, as it was before covid I think but still)
The building really complements the historical war theme
We really need Greek and Norwegian soldiers!
We can build almost all army’s in Europe except the Norwegian and Greek
I've been there and it was amazing
I wish I could go to Minneapolis, maybe someday in the future
I went to the store in the mall of America an it was amazing I loved getting custom ww2 minifigs for the first time
Congratulations Beyond The Bricks Team on your half a million subs, basically he a bit like Tony Stark for LEGO ❤️❤️👍
Thank you!
I love those ww2 sets
Finally they’ve reopened! Greetings from the SW Metro.
Good job
I remember so much from going there
I love the Harrier and Pave low
Hopefully the store is doing good with what's happening
covid and the prices...
Fun thing is the way how for 1 dollar a helmet you can buy is so fun,the amount of small guns and like for a jeep by that size with that decorations for 35$ for me it's pretty good.
As an avid RC aircraft hobbiest I've Built-in flown aircraft for over 44 years years now that I can no longer fly due to my my health I'm looking for another hobby that I can get into that I can build and have something to show for it just like my other planes I've seen a lot of year kits on here and I am really impressed with how accurate they look especially from short distance away the only thing keeping me from building a collection is the cost.
Nice video
Buildarmy and Brickwarlord have cool ww2 Lego
You could also get Cobi which I have several of. They are amazing quality. I like these too though.
Also how can I buy kits. I looked at the Sherman Firefly and there was no method to buy it.
I love Brickmania
Nice!
Man im gonna go down there to Minneapolis and buy so many brick arms , helmets, vest, kits
How do you source that much Lego for the kits? Cool walk around...thanks!
MASSIVE BATTLESHIP
I wish they can build a store more south in the US cause the stores are all up north for me
Man I remember seeing the whole Black Hawk Down moc back when it was in the warehouse
I finally found a store I want to rob!
Darren were you there this week to rob???? Hope they are ok...
@@dougie8010 Hahaha oh no. I'm two thousand miles away and I believe the store is OK
HA! I was there 6 weeks ago... but on the other hand, BEYOND THE BRICK WAS AN HOUR AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!!!!!!
@@fewshan6 Yes they are. But it is totally worth coming for 3 reasons:
1. All the displays of retired kits (one of every released kit I think)
2. All the other displays in the store.
3. It's Minnesota man!!!!!
...so?
I hope one day these will become more affordable for people they would definitely get more customers if it’s a little bit cheaper
I went to the grand opening for this store it was pretty fun
I very like this shop👍👍👍👍👍👍
YEAAAAAAA MINNESOTA
That's cool
Oh, shit!!! I didn't know about this store, but it just showed up in my suggestions feed. Iive in Burnsville only 20-30 minutes away. I'll be coming to visit!!!
Cool!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool
I just got some Brickarms off of Brickmania for $85 from this place, I hope it’s as good as my last order.
I can imagine some kid bringing his grandpa their and the grandpa gets flashbacks.
Lol
I went there once they opened it right next to where I live
I like your store you’re awesome
This looks super cool! It is a pity that only in America
I’ve actually seen the first avenue set at the museum
After watching this, I need to start making Military Lego Sets from bricklink and sell them for boat loads of money. I bet they are making 10x the part value with those sets.
10? just look at 6:05 45$ for that? thats like 2$ for every brick
Keep in mind that they have stores, designers that have families to feed, and high quality designs that have been worked to perfection. I do think the prices do need tweaking, but building business isnt that easy
LST 325 was awesome to be on and check out
The store is cool and all, but if they had a lot of the OG LEGO Star Wars sets for a decent price, then that would be enough to make me drive from MD to Minnesota.
Sweet
do you have the KV-2 at the minneapolis store? if so. then how much? and i think i might go over and buy one or two if its there
Aw I really want to go here but I'm in Scotland 😭
me at philippines :(
me at philippines :(
Switzerland :(
I love brickarms
I hope they are pulling through with this covid virus!
i would like to see that giant old battle of the bulge diorama as inspiration for
building my own
but i cant find it anywhere????
Here: ruclips.net/video/uW3OFFx_AoU/видео.html
But thats not the old big one they say in video its just part of bigger one
@@HiisimiasUnofficialFanAccount I know, but there is no video of the full one.
:c
Wish we had this in Australia
You know I just build brick built guns and I’m def buying these things man I so am
I want the f4u Corsair kit back please 🙌 where can I find one that is still available
You should do some Rainbow Six Siege out of Lego. That would be really cool.
Car Boss YES!!!
Love your kits and designs, but I hope you guys can make your kits cheaper so that I can buy some of them, and of course admire the attention to detail
Whelp time to move to make Minneapolis
I need the stores location , because we’re going to travel this week...( idk maybe ) to america , i need to know which state is this on.
This is in my area I WANT TO GO!
Never stop doing the thing you love that started this journey! This made me 😁✌️
What about your USS Makin Island project I saw on your website
And I am very sad I wish we had a brick mania store in Australia
I wish there was a brickarms store in NZ😭
17:39 damn i want this f100 sabre
