I didn’t understand why these detectives; for the FBI, didn’t mention at all “hmm, that’s funny, my birthday falls on the 14th too!” “Really?!? Come to think of it, my only daughter’s birthday is on the 14th!” Also - who reminds her on the phone about the birthday party? Is the reminder really for us? It was a super fun movie - but it seems like he threw 100 ideas out there, and only like 20 are explained (in the last 15 minutes)
Also, and I could blah blah blah for hours probably - but I’m not a fan of hand-feeding us time jumps by changing the aspect ratio of the frame. At times it feels like Perkins could give his audience a little more credit than having to do stuff like that
Agreed 100%. An original movie in a world of cheap jump scares and crappy plots. People hate Longlegs, but flood the theaters for the likes of Tarot, Smile, or Immaculate. Booo!
Here’s the thing that plagued the first wave of Longlegs viewers. It’s not scary. I saw it in a packed theater and there were laughs and no gasps. It was marketed specifically as being very scary and it wasn’t. So people are let down. That’s the fault of the hype and mishandling the expectations of the audience. It might grow on people as they get further from the expectations of the initial push of the film. I find it overtly mediocre.
Plenty of people dialike this movie but i think they severely misunderstood it. Perkins tends to do these satanic/cultic plotlines. But his movies are almoat always about humanity
The older I get the more I appreciate Nick Cage as an actor.
Dreariness? That dark winter environment looks homely to me.
Nice little essay you have here. I enjoyed listening to it , very smooth a pleasant, do go on
Definitely a rewatchable!!
I watched it 3 times and the third times it was even better.
I loved this movie and Dale Ferdinand Kobble.... Aka Nicolas Cage.... ❤️🔥🎸❤️🔥

Smile is actually really good. I disagree with that point.
The same people who dislike longlegs are the kinds people who claim smile is a masterpiece. Despite it being unoriginal af
@@BullyMaguire4everno. No it is not. It's a cheap jumpscare fest with a plot that refuses to go all the way. If anything, smile is missed potential
What's wrong with Smile?
Smile is a fantastic horror movie
