Welcome to another jon boat to bass boat build from #brigadeboats . In this video I will show from start to finish how I took a bare aluminum 14 foot jon boat and turned it into a tiny fishing machine!
This video features footage of the full jon boat build from first paint to the final carpet. You'll find info on paint, aluminum framing, wiring a boat, cutting decking and hatches, bass boat carpet, installing a trolling motor, mounting decking and hatches, battery installation, and much much more!
The video shows a majority of the work with voice overs explaining the process. I also show the tools and materials needed to make it happen.
I hope you enjoy the end result.
May your tiny boat builds be great.

I learned my carpet skills from you! Your work is clean and uncompromising. Thank you for being consistent on the videos too. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks man! I use #uncompromisedcraftsmanship on Instagram! I have a standard of detail and craftsmanship I like to meet, glad that's seen from the video. Always striving to improve and stand apart with my projects!
absolutely insane! i want a jon boat/mini bass boat so bad
Very neat work! The attention to the very last and most insignificant corner (if there is such a thing) is absolutely IMPRESSIVE.
That, sir, is a MASTERPIECE and worth anyone's drive to Athens, GA!!!
I was sitting in a hospital bed and had nothing to do and watched this, needless to say I was amazed! Obviously you've done this before, better than anything you can buy off the floor that's for sure!
Well done!!
This came out amazing! I really like how clean the battery compartment looks. Good work!
Much appreciated man👊
You have a great eye for the details. Love that boat. Keep it up. When I’m due to get another jon boat I’m driving up to Georgia and definitely having you work your magic
Let's go man! I'm always willing to get new builds on the calendar.
What would one cost
Nice build. I would like to see on the water performance tests!
Not only the best build but the best build video I have seen. Appreciate your work!
Thank you man!
Your carpet work is so good! Great video
My God that is awesome. I bought three old John boats planning on restoring them. And I’m still going to do that but again my God you have some talent and no Howell that I will never have. I’ll do my best and see what happens.
I definitely appreciate that. For sure grateful for the doors that have been opened for me to do what i do. I appreciate your support and comment more than you know..Thanks
Quá tuyệt vời bạn ơi!
Tight work. This is no small feat. You nailed it. Just the layout work alone is exhausting... then film and edit! Keep up the great work!!
These boats just keep getting better and better. Truly unbelievable how nice that boat turned out. I have a 14-36 myself. I’m going to use this channel as my guide. Great job buddy!
Man. I don't know how I've never thought about notching angle the way you do 😐 stellar work 🤘
Is the boat still super unstable? I gave a 1448 and just with a deck on the front it's super unstable and half the boat comes out of the water
Wow and I think restoring bass boats it alot of work
Greetings from Copperhill! The 14/36 came out fantastic👍You have really done a beautiful job laying it out, constructing and presentation. You’re my hero man and I hope mine comes out half as nice as this one did. Beautiful brother! I’m bucking most of my rivets so it’s taking longer, but I’ll get there… Go Dawgs!
Thanks so much man! Comments like that pump me up to keep grinding! I'm sure your boat will be awesome, just take you time man and enjoy the journey!👊
This video popped up on my phone. That's a very cool job on that boat
Good job! Hope this new endeavor pans out! Keep up the good work; your work is on par with the tin can crew.
Awesome job! It ain’t what ya buy, its what ya build! Happy apocalypse y’all from Florida! 🌴🐈🐈🐈🌴🏴☠️
I wish more people understood this concept!
That is a badass video. I am starting on a 12 footer right now.
Your craftsmanship is incredible. Every little detail is thought of. I'm an electrician, and your wiring looked great, very tidy. I love those solder heat shrink connectors.
I watched a lot of videos today about customizing Jon boats. I’m about to buy a friends boat and wanted to upgrade it. You sir have one of the cleanest builds and you did a great job filming I watched every second rewinding multiple times. Great Job man.
Thanks so much man for that! Glad you enjoy! I appreciate the support, hope you continue to watch, and wish you good luck on your project!
I just did a deck on my jon boat. Used 1/8th inch thick marine grade aluminum, 4'x8' sheet is only $150 at the local metal shop in NJ. It's not that bad. The little extra spent on lighter materials means the world on jons, especially in hp restricted lakes.
i know you wrote this 2yrs ago. i just went to my local metal recycling/scrap/metal supplier today and they wanted $400 for a 1/8x4x8 aluminum! i picked up 2 used road signs thatll be plenty for what i want to do... $45, with some tubing and angle for supports
That boat is slick. Great work.
Such good ideas, and then to go with plywood. Brought me to tears.
Thousands more to do aluminum hatches with anti flood tracks and aluminum decking. I state in the video. Customer choice. I just build it. Probably the best plywood decked boat out there though, and with the resin it will last a long time.
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats How much weight savings is there with the aluminum? I geek out about these things working on planes. Great video, by the way.
Another awesome video thanks for sharing. You’re work is on point down to final details you should be very proud of you’re work.very talented I appreciate you and videos god bless have a wonderful day I wish you could do my bass tracker take me several days drive from Maryland
Bring it on! I have a build coming from Cincinnati Ohio. Anyhow, thanks for the kind words and support!
sweeetttt.... i would install a simple rain guard cover to cover those switches .... great build !
Your work is impressive man
Thank you man!
How many labor hours and cost to do that
Bad ass build! Man, that could also be an awesome inshore setup.
Your work is on a total other level sir! This totally makes me want to do this!
It's doable! Thanks for watching and leaving some love!
Outstanding detail and craftsmanship!!!!!!
Thanks so much man👊
Amazing craftsmanship.
Awesome..Awesome...an somemore Awesome..Dude that build came out way over the top... I'm very interested in a build, and if its possible please let me know with a reply to this comment. Once again, you did a fantastic build. Congrats Broh 😁👍👍
I might have to get ahold of you guys to help polish off my river boat
Tremendo trabajo de aseguro puede vivir de lo qué está asiendo.
The 1/2" spacer trick is gold
glad it helped 👊
Brother, that is a beautiful showpiece!! Well done!!
I did this on a vintage DeSoto 14' jon boat back in '94. I wired for lights using telephone station wire and outdoors telephone jacks. All my lights were tipped with telephone jack connectors, so all you did was just plug them in and voila! I put a LOUD piezo horn on it just for fun to send a message to inconsiderate boaters. I painted it tobacco gold and the little 6hp Evinrude was John Deere green. I purchased John Deere decals and found John Deere medallions from old lawn mowers to "convert" the Evinrude to John Deere. I had to add a Dol-Fin elevator wing to the motor so it would plane out. It came out beautifully and I received a ton of compliments, but the best part was how well the little boat performed. I could run for most of the summer on a tank of fuel and it was surprisingly stable to fish from. I miss the little boat. One guy said, "I didn't know John Deere made boats!" Without a blink, I told him there were catfish and crawdad farms in Louisiana. Fish on!
That's a Fine build...
I have found that when I add my cost for materials and my hours for my labor. It's cheaper to buy a Bass Tracker but, it's fun to do these projects.
People don't always want the cheapest option. I'm finding with my customers they want something custom built by hand (by me more particularly) specific to their needs that they helped design, as opposed to a mass produced boat.
Holy hell!! That is a fantastic job! What a great boat!
Dude this is a work of art. Wow
dream boat. i did a few things with my 17' jon boat but this is just amazing work.
You make it look so easy. I couldn't even fathom to have the ability and know how to do this
It's a gift man.
Straight 🔥
Cannot wait to get started on my boat! You, Chris & Ryan really inspire me and I've got so many ideas now
Thanks buddy! I appreciate your support man!
you are a great teacher for me, with you I have learned a lot in all your excellent videos about this, I am improving my old 10ft aluminum boat that I bought for only $ 250 and I have done an excellent job thanks to you although I still need little oor finish it. Thanks brother, I have a question plz, how much did all that you did in that boat cost? I am very interested in knowing prices to have an excellent boat like the ones you do in the future! Can ? ☺️🤝💪
First video & I’m hooked!
I would love to see a steering console added. That would be the ultimate small boat
That’s what’s up right there!! Beautiful job Brother and I hope to holler at you soon about my 15’ Tracker!! Have a great God blessed day Brother!!
whaker 15
Wow amazing work true talent for boat building keep videos comeing
Will do, thanks so much
Great work, ✌🏾
Thank you!
Nice work man! There’s a lot of people on the internet doing a lot of different things, very few of those people or things are as impressive as this.
WOW! Absolutely amazing work!
Impressive. I've watched this video 15 times. I want to open a boat shop that does work like this in Texas.
I really want this boat.
now thats one bad ass boat you have made there my friend keep up the dope work
Thanks man! Will do!
Liked and Subscribed. Dude, this build was so clean. I just acquired a 12/48 jon boat so I am sure to be deep into your video collection for ideas. Great job.
Yep me too!
Brigade boat builds rawk!
That is sweet. 👏🏽 Very nice
Best looking jon boat to bass boat for sure
Thanks man! 👊

Thanks man
Amazing, as always! You have truly found your calling.
Thank you, I'm trying!
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats You are doing great, cuzzin!
Love your work you are incredible, how much does the boat weigh after the full workup? I'm curious if it is near the same weight as a factory bass boat
Amazing!! That's a nice build! Unbelievable!! Very impressed with this video. What size motor did he put on the back?
Great job.
Great vision and incredible skills to pull it off !
Greatly appreciated!
I could never put that kind of money into a job boat, but DAMN that thing is clean. Awesome job.
Different strokes for different folks! I just like building them!
This looks like a fun project, I have 12' jon boat in the pastier that might get something like this, not as elaborate. Nice build
They are fun projects, good luck with yours!
Man you turned that into a nice fishing boat
This was perfection.
thanks!
멋지네요
Very nice video
Appreciate you
I'm breathless! Sweet!
Thank you.
Sweet shouldve added a balance bar. Definatly putting shocks on my boat debbie
Very nice build.
Thanks!
NEW SUBSCRIBER
that is just nuts,,,,,,incredible build,,,,pretty work
I do have 1 question I can not shake out of my head
??? what about water in cockpit area,,, how does that drain below sub floor????
and how does drainage occur in storage area between original benches???
I love my jon boat. I couldn't imagine what I'd think after it was tricked out like that. That was insane
Thanks man. greatly appreciated
Fire build. Are you open to more builds? Just purchased a Jon boat I’m looking into having work done to or maybe even trying myself.
This guys got some skilzzzz!!!
Appreciate it cuzzz
Absolutely amazing!!! Wow
thanks so much 👊
Really nice work and the outcome looks absolutly fantastic. I got one question though. Are you not concerned about corrosion when you use stainless steel screws with the aluminum off the boat and your construction?
That's what i want to know. A lot of guys use them and i always heard not to use them with aluminum. My boat build is gonna be used in salt also so i don't know another option other than stainless but the salt would obviously promote more corrosion. I'm surprised no one has seem to answer any questions about stainless in aluminum yet but i'm curious if it's not that big of a deal
Looks great Dr jones!
Good afternoon Sir. New Sub. I'm getting a 14' jon boat and Love this channel! I'm from Georgia also.
Thanks man👊 GO DAWGS
WORD
Excellent job
Nice build…only cons I got with it is flotation foam you’ve replaced is not nearly adequate for all the weight you’ve put in it…
It only matters if you flip it 👍
You and tiny boat nation R amazing
Perfect job ,awesome 👏
I would be interested to know how much this changes the weight capacity for the boat.
ALOT! It will be a pig with anything under a 50 hp on it
Wow awesome job
Killer build! Nice job.
Thank you👊
I love this channel man y’all killing it
Thanks for following along 👊
Another amazing build!
Thank you! 👊
An other brilliant Job man 👍🎣
Thanks so much cuz 👊
Legendary man!! Beautiful build!!
Tin Can Crew In the houzzzz! Thanks bro, looking forward to your build!!!
Nice boat
FKN AMAZING, I LOVE IT, AND I OBVIOUSLY WANT ONE. PLEASE MAKE ME ONE.
So that's now what? A 12k Jon boat?
With that level of detail and workmanship...
Again, Nicely done
Rrally not sure. Customer already owned the graph and bought the trolling motor used so i don't know his overall investment. I think he got the boat for 800 bucks. He's probably under 10 grand I think.
@@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats nice.
I actually found a Jon boat locally. Previously converted to a bass boat ( somewhat, but very clean and the guy was an electrician ( so he is as OCD as you or I would be with wiring etc .) trailer & wheel & tires..
$2500 out the door.
He took the post down and is trying to hold it for me for a couple months. So you videos have helped me pick this boat 1...
And , show me how to give it some extra stank on the cheap when I get it.
Thanks again
And subbed
What do you think about turning a 12' v bottom into a panga?
wribg
Amazing! Love watching this! This is ART!
How much would you charge for this same build? Very interested
Wow your work is fantastic need to get ahold of you some how I have a 14x36 just need the inside done it was recently painted but they was some stuff came up an the inside didn't get finished
Why no rod lockers? I love the blue accents & it’s the small touches like painting the deck lids! Looks great
With 36 inch bottom, rod locker just eats up a lot of space in a narrow hull. Just a preference of what's important to the individual. Thanks for the compliments
