    Best demonstration I have seen as yet. You begin with an exp and simple diagram. You showed the size of wire and why. You showed and listed the components plus the tools for wiring connections. You explained what products are to be used where and why. You left no need to out no matter what level of knowledge the viewer had. Good job, your parents raised you right and your teachers did a good job too. Give yourself a raise. Oh and not only did you master your trade, you mastered how to do video production in an organized manner. Most importantly you care enough about your fellow humans to want to share what you have learned on your particular path of life. Some think kept knowledge is power. They are wrong. Shared knowledge benefits us all.

      The small lights are designed for that wire to hook to the accessorie side of a ignition switch. That way there's only power when the key is on. Usually, there's a main power wire to battery to power the switches, then that light wire goes to ignition or headlight switch. Easy to eliminate though since it's a boat and not a vehicle.

    Beautiful work man. For your switch panel, I've had a lot of luck with the blue sea systems weather deck (fused) switch panel. It has the fuses integrated into the switch panel, and it's super high quality. All you need to do is run a bus bar for the negatives. I've used it on many ORV builds, and several boats (including mine) and it works great, might be worth you checking out. Keep up the great work man.

    Question.. if you don’t remove the jumpers behind the toggle switches you run the + & - to the fuse box? From there you run the - from the accessory and it goes to the fuse box and the + goes behind the toggle switch?

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats
      @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats  Год назад

      If you do it that way, what happens is you can't individually fuse your accessories. Your switch panel itself would be fused as a single accessory and act as a "jumper" for your accessories. At that rate you might as well run inline fuses on everything and not use a fusebox at all, which is obviously not how I do it based off my video.

    Might be a stupid question but do you have to ground to the boat? I was reading a comment below but not sure I understand.

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats
      @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats  Год назад

      I don't. I never have. Everything is grounded to the negative bus bar, which connects to the negative on the battery. Grounding stuff to the hull is lazy, and long-term can cause hull damage and pitting from electrolysis. Also, good luck trying to troubleshoot wiring when grounding to the hull. I spent many hours tracing leads in a Basstracker build, and things were grounded to the hull, creating a lot of problems troubleshooting what was what. It's just not a professional way of doing it, in my opinion, and there no reason for it if grounded to the battery properly.

    Great video, I appreciate the content. The diagram you drew was definitely helpful.
    If I have a on board charger where should I set it up at? Also will the kill switch support the on board charger?

      On board charger just connects to the batteries then you plug it into a electrical plug. Doesn't have anything to do with boat wiring, fuses, or kill switches

    What did sea deck charge u for the decking

      Custom sea dek routed jobs like this one charge based on square footage, how many layers of color, and depth of routed details. I don't get directly from sea dek as they do not do custom routered jobs, i get from their authorized dealer. Jobs vary but are typically 2-3 grand.

    What turf do you have on the floor in the hatches? I’ve been looking for something to use.

    no relays to control the acc? Are they a bad idea?

      I've only used relays on bigger accessories like a huge led light bar. I don't use in a typical jon boat set up but do as you wish.

      @@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats Okay, i was just curious. I am adding lights to my truck and doing so, but i guess there is no real need on a small boat. Still got to run the wires, no sense in adding additional components to mess up. Thanks for the reply. it is a good and informative video. I am planning to build a cabin boat from an 18 foot starcraft and your video is certainly helping me plan the wiring. thanks for sharing it.

    Which is better to use. The ring terminals or the fork terminals for the fuse block?

    One thing to consider would be a heat shrink label printer to tag all the wires.
