Thanks for the vid. Not many up to date on here. Just ordered the same boat two weeks ago. Can’t wait but sounds like end of June delivery. Did you get a top speed reading?
Hey Greg thanks for watching! I had it out this weekend with a half tank of fuel and 3 grown men on it and I topped it out around 40mph according to the boats speedometer. Really haven’t had any issues with the the boat as a whole. I’m really liking it!
From the owners manual Engine Break‑in Procedure IMPORTANT: Failure to follow the engine break‑in procedures can result in poor performance throughout the life of the engine and can cause engine damage. Always follow break‑in procedures. 1. For the first two hours of operation, run the engine at varied throttle settings up to 4500 RPM or at three‑quarter throttle, and at full throttle for approximately one minute every ten minutes. 2. For the next eight hours of operation, avoid continuous operation at full throttle for more than five minutes at a time
Thanks Greg I just had my new 75Merc installed onto my 1989 16ft Mirrocraft. Hopefully in a few weeks our lakes here in Maine will be thawed for break in.
Not a problem! Thank you for watching! Feel free to subscribe to my channel! I’m going to be doing more reviews like this and a 1 year review on this motor!
Ah yes, break in period. I know it is a lot smaller, but we got a little 2.5 horse mercury. Break in time seams like it takes forever haha. Congrats on the new motor.
Thanks brother! Yea it’s one of them things they recommended doing. I might be looking to get rid of her this spring though. We will see what happens. I’m really enjoying kayak fishing!
@@SBrosOutdoors I bought a new kayak this year but it didn’t show up until the lakers froze over 😫! I’m gonna do a few videos on it and how I’m going to rig it up for fishing. It’s a big boat. Pedal driven too
I just bought a 2020 Tracker 195 TXW with the same motor and the seller had taken it to Basspro/Cabelas for inspection and checkout and the paperwork shows 16.5 hours, but the comments say it's not broken in and needs to be run at higher rpm. So, maybe the seller just didn't have opportunity to run it WOT for very long wherever he was using it.
So I just watched a video on FISH N STUFF'S channel and he took his back to the dealer because he couldn't get over 5k rpm and they told him exactly everything he did while breaking it in and they also adjusted his throttle cable and changed his prop. Keep that in mind on these new motors. The computer will tell the marine tech EVERYTHING you have done to your motor and if not properly done, they can void your warranty.
I'm getting my boat repowered with this motor and I'm trying to figure out what will my top speed be on my 23ft trophy bayliner. I was currently getting 22mph on my old '90's 175HP mercury outboard. I'm hoping I go a little faster than that and not decrease in speed.
My Mercury manual says for the first 2 hours, run varying speeds up to 4,500 and 1 minute bursts at WOT every 10 minutes. Say nothing about 1 hour 3500 and 2nd hour 4500. What is correct?!
WOT once every 10 minutes only after the first hour is done. Not over 3500 in the first hour. But yes, varying speeds throughout the entire first 2 hours. This was the information in my manual for the 2021 150HP.
My manual also makes no reference to the 3500 rpm limitation. Perhaps they have changed the manual. I took delivery of my 2021 150 Pro XS in April 2021.
"Aviation Location" My manual says the same, although it is a 2023 it should be the same. He said the dealer made the references about the 3500 and the 1 hour deal. I guess the dealer didn't print the manual.
@@TheOutdoorConquest just off the wall would say around 200 miles a tank? I'm not to concerned on mpg per say just range my thing is if I should run the 150 or the 175hp had someone say the 175 was getting about 180 to 200 miles per tank but if I don't have to upgrade that would be great lol
Greg how fast does that 150 push that boat? I have the same motor on my new 24ft Tritoon and I can get up to 35-37mph. I was just wondering how fast it could go on a lighter boat like yours? Thanks bro and thanks for the vid.
@@TheOutdoorConquest Wow that’s pretty good but I think I may have originally underestimated how much your boat weighs. Just saying its prob not as light as I thought.

What do non ethanol fuel , total 10 hr break in is probably several tanks of fuel
im unsure about that
