it's hard, for me as an Chinese native. it took me 6 years to learn chinese, the tone, pronounciation is really hard. if you accidentally mispronounce a word then you will maybe say things like 笨蛋(means stupid) so be careful of your pronounciation when you are speaking with a Chinese person😭😭

And yeah I agree, English does place some emphasis on tones, just not nearly as strict as Chinese. Mandarin's four (or 5) tones are really essential, no freestyle allowed whatsoever. But please take comfort in the fact that there are only 4 tones, compared to the 5+ or even 10+ tones in Cantonese, Shanghainese, Hokkien and many other Chinese dialects/languages. You already picked the easiest one to learn😹

But I mean, technically, every language has intonation, because every sound (from human/animal/nature etc.) has a tone. It's impossible to make a sound without it having some kind of tone. It's just that Chinese language has picked four specific tones, out of gazillions of tones, as the basis of its pronunciation-system. So my (uneducated) guess is that - you think that French words don't have tones, because they either only have one tone, or a lot of "unsystematic" tones which do not systematically follow the 4-tone rules (or some other strict intonation rules), unlike Mandarin. I'm not sure if that makes sense...I-I tried lol

I want Chenle to be my Chinese teacher since he's strict with pronunciation esp with the tones.
Jungwoo impressed me though. He's really good, I'm convinced that he probably learned Chinese before this.
Mark and Jungwoo have learnt those particular lines and keep saying them whenever they are asked to say something in Chinese. Jungwoo has said those lines so many times that he speaks those lines pretty fluently.

it's hard, for me as an Chinese native. it took me 6 years to learn chinese, the tone, pronounciation is really hard. if you accidentally mispronounce a word then you will maybe say things like 笨蛋(means stupid) so be careful of your pronounciation when you are speaking with a Chinese person😭😭

Yeah, without getting the tones right, no one will understand what you’re saying, so the communication will just fail.
This is unlike languages such as Korean and English which - sure you’ll be recognised as having a foreign accent - but at least what you’ve said is still comprehensible.

And yeah I agree, English does place some emphasis on tones, just not nearly as strict as Chinese.
Mandarin's four (or 5) tones are really essential, no freestyle allowed whatsoever.
But please take comfort in the fact that there are only 4 tones, compared to the 5+ or even 10+ tones in Cantonese, Shanghainese, Hokkien and many other Chinese dialects/languages. You already picked the easiest one to learn😹
@@pekoeoeo Oh does French only have one or two tones in total? That's actually great in a way. But I mean, technically, every language has intonation, because every sound (from human/animal/nature etc.) has a tone. It's impossible to make a sound without it having some kind of tone.
It's just that Chinese language has picked four specific tones, out of gazillions of tones, as the basis of its pronunciation-system.
So my (uneducated) guess is that - you think that French words don't have tones, because they either only have one tone, or a lot of "unsystematic" tones which do not systematically follow the 4-tone rules (or some other strict intonation rules), unlike Mandarin. I'm not sure if that makes sense...I-I tried lol
and if u get it wrong it might result in weird words like xióngmāo (熊猫/panda) and xiōngmáo (胸毛/chest hair) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
