As someone with several professional bellydancing friends (Nava Sanctum group), I can't ignore the few hangups in this piece. Several dancers needed just a few more weeks of practice, as their moves were off-time, playing catchup to the rest of the group because they'd forgotten the moves and had to watch the others for the queue, which of course was then executed slightly late.
Overall though, this was a wonderful piece. The location was lovely. The gentle breeze gave the perfect amount of smoke (not blown away completely, but didn't hang around and conceal the dancer too much), and the unique but coordinating costumes were delightful.

Having profesional dancers as friends doesnt make you and expert or someone with a critics eye, please respect dancers and dont give an opinion based in someone else work if you havent do it yourself
this video is AWESOME and everything that was laid out was perfect, except the synchronization. For group dances, sync is key, and important, which unfortunately looked like a mess at times. Other than that I am extremely impressed with everything in this performance. So I agree with your comment, if given maybe a week or so of time to perfect, it would've had a bigger effect, but even so, it is an awesome performance that I am grateful to have been able to see at all.
in honesty I think that was a part of the theme though. It's tribal, so a mess is sometimes symbolic
The comment was respectful and positive, and honest. Chill out. I don't have any professional dancers as friends, yet I completely agree that the synchronisation needed more work before filming. 'Orchid' wasn't claiming to be an expert; anyone with any standards could pick out the flaws. You don't need to be a dancer to criticise a dance. You don't need to be a writer to criticise a book. You don't need to paint to criticise a painting.
