- Eating Whatever I Catch while fishing from the saltwater! Today I'm going to be attempting to use a cast net to catch some food/bait. Hopefully we can net some bait and use it to catch some fish! We head out to go saltwater fishing in Florida with a mission - eat whatever I catch. What kind of fish would be around a saltwater creek like this?? We throw out cast net and bait and attempt to catch clean and cook whatever we hook into.. I did not expect for this to happen..

I almost exclusively catch all my bait with a cast net or sand flea rake. Match the hatch, as they say. Keep practicing with the cast net. Thanks for sharing.

I use to do everyday after school with my dad to the St. John river to catch buckets/cooler of shrimp for fishing, cooking or even give to out grandparents. I can’t wait move from California and move back to Jacksonville, Fl.

Just a little tip, when cast netting, wait for the net to get to the bottom. That way, you'll catch more bait. Btw, I'm a massive fan of the channel! :)

Nice vídeo brother. When you clean Shrimp you can take out the black line you see inside so they are really clean and taste better.
You could try cat hing bait from rock pools. I catch huge shrimp from them. And smaller bait fish, octopus ect.
With the small shrimp i like to do shrimp ceviche.. bigger shrimp definitely a boil or stuff shrimp
Ya dude the mouth is the way to go! That’s the way we learned down here in Florida lol! You fold a bit over the net itself in your hand, then put a bit between the sinkers on your net in your mouth, just release all at once and don’t actually bite down haha! It 100% helps to get the “full moon “ open throws !

Let's go dude now that u can throw pan cakes keep baiting the shrimp at night and throw them on top of some pasta I do it all the time I use cans of tuna in oil so it puts out a slick

Saw some videos where they shrimp at noght in the shallows with a head lamp and net. The shrimps eyes glow orange.
When you throw that net, it helps to twist your shoulders more for a backswing to get the weights swinging out and to ultimately fan out the whole net. It works by spinning(centripetal force)

My favorite for bait fish is a bag of gravy train dog food. Don't feed your dog with it, but in water the gravy smell spreads fast.

Holding position of net is crucial . Find the holding location where net opens correctly and repeat exact holding .

Put half the net over your shoulder. And spin and throw it and it opens up fully. Think of the net opening and spinning like a frisbee.

The hand that you just hold the net with u can put 2 of the weights in your pocket and just throw it with your one hand and it should pancake almost every time

When your pulling the cast net up don’t pull up. Kind of pull down and tug on it so the net closes better. You’ll catch more bait
