There are a lot of big achievements that were made this year, it's all just been overshadowed by all the horrible shit because the Media likes to overplay it for the sake of money.
You know, CoreyLaddo did an awesome job capturing this music video in essence, but I'd still say they have different feelings having watched them myself. Where the original is much more sporadic and organic in all of the jittery body movements, Corey's iteration with Gman nails a much more stiff yet expressive tone that respects Gman's traits as his own character. They're both a lot of fun, and I really am thankful for Corey in having brought this song back to me since he started the project.

@@doranh6410 thats not a SFM nor a engine limitation. I won't go into technical details. but I can tell you either A it was on purpose, or B They are not quite use to doing a lot of animation still. As its easy to mistakenly do stiff animation. But its just the matter of time before they over come it.
Too young to be familiar with the music video but it's really weird seeing how everything I thought was wrong with the GMan version is just... how the original is. That man moves like a poorly done SFM animation and it takes a really skilled animator to match those movements deliberately.

I agree. The modding community is wonderful. Sure the underlying games are great. But the community, how they add not only extra content like maps, weapons, character skins, etc., But whole new concepts and games is magical.
in the original face close-up, byrne looks hes in a trance, whereas gman looks more horrified and worried. both work with the themes of the song (former a bit better) but i love the animation and how expressive gman is in that shot. thats like animation-flexing right there

The reason the guy from the talking heads video was soaked by the end was that they filmed it mostly in one day and it was literally scorching in the studio so it actually wasnt intentional. But honestly adds alot to the video.

It might as well be a stylistic choice but in regards of personal taste I think a lot of videos would benefit from more subtle movements. That said. Corey is incredibly talented and I think I'd barely have the patience to lip sync all of this... I know because I tried that on something else and it was fun, but incredibly exhausting.
I hope this video becomes the catalyst for many newer listeners to check out Talking Heads! This isn't even my favourite TH song, but the video is as iconic as the song itself.

The idea of a surrealist video becoming even more surreal with the addition of an inter-dimensional alien from a videogame is a hell of a wacky vibe.
What I find amazing is that David Byrne actually has slightly more alien movements than the entity that almost certainly is an alien.
