This is exquisite. I have watched your video about 20 times. I am using it to help me build a cardboard Strandbeest very much like yours but about 14 inches tall and 16 to 18 inches long. After I have expanded my understand by doing this I hope to build a wooden one about the same size to work out my design. In a few years I hope to build a wooden Strandbeest that I can ride on. Thank you for doing such a fine job of showing what you did.
this is a real thing developed by theo jansen and it being used for keeping the coast of some european countries from shrinking by erosion of wind and water and soon, they will develop intelligence
Most people may think this is odd and useless, but it is originally created by Theo Jansen and there is a fan infront.it can turn wind energy and convert into movement energy.
@@vishalmanjunath170 suppose a triangle is to be made with side A=5cm, B=6cm and C=3cm. So we draw side B=6cm with a scale, next we take a compass and measure 5cm, we put the compass needle on one end of line B and make an arc on top of B. Then we take the compass again and measures 3 cm, we put the compass needle on the other side of line B and make another arc on top of line B. The common point where the arcs meet is gonna be the tip of the triangle. Hope thats clear

Very cool! What kind of wire did you use for the crank? I have been trying to making a very similar design, but the legs and body are 3D printed. The 1/8 in diameter steel piano wire that I tried to use to make the crank wouldn't bend 90 degrees without breaking, much less twisting it another 60 degrees. I have been redesigning the crank as a result.
a buddy of mine did something like this with a few motors and a ruumba sensor. It was actually able to navigate it;s surroundings. He then later upgraded it to map out his house (well one floor) and then upgraded it a gain to be able to correct itself, so it was then able to go up and down stairs. Well down was easy, it would just fall, but going up was a different story. In teh end it only had a few hours of life before needing to recharge, but h had it run around the basement and it was rather eerie.

Such a majestic creation. The organic movement of the ‘legs’.
Fantastic recreation of this unusual machine. Thank you!
That's Theo Jansen's mechanism.
Perfectly good
As always, the execution and shooting are amazing, but the odd thing is strange

Everything about this channel is so great!!!!
I agree, awesome DIYs
I love how you make card board and paper look so sturdy
Like a real creature and original robot ,you deserve it
Thanks for the simplified build. It's very helpful!
It's the only video in RUclips I have liked at the first seconds
Amazing video and build well done.
I'd be impressed with myself if I even managed to make the wire with the loops on
@Mad Man that's exactly my point
Once again, you make my day... thanks !!!
Next could be the wind creature ?

Wow Amazing walking robotic
Looks like a spider and it's awesome
Absolutely amazing! It's a walking robot thingy.
Cool ! You should really try the Theo Jansen's helium filled flying saucer.
great idea!
Nice video for DIY Walking Robotic Creature Strandbeest......by....tha q......i like this a new video........

Could you try to motorise it ? like adding a little motor that turns the wire ? or would it be too heavy for the paper to hold its form ?
Tomara que a NASA teja assistindo ótimo vídeo parabéns____( hopefully is NASA watching this video congratulations...)
So unique and creative! You gotta make more stuff like this😁

Bro where are the angles when we are drawing the legs in 0:20
U dont need angles to draw them correct lol .
You've got three sides
@@gurmeharsingh2333 how do you draw them?

GENIUS, SUPER GENIUS
These seem simple but they're very technical actually. 🤔. They're great . Put a motor in it.
This is insane stuff... from where 🤔🤔do you get so many ideas from... how you make it look so simple..awsme stuff bro..👌👌✌✌👍

I used to have a remote control one of these. It was really cool.
Where do you get that great quality cardboard? And how can that utility knife cut the cardboard so smoothly at 2:35? Great vid Btw👌😀
What about a motorized one? With steering capabilities as well, maybe?
Superb! man. make the robotics tutorials
what is the name of the music at 4.02? It's very cool!
Very interesting and neat
you are a genius
Very cool!
You should make it better, like automatic walking, left-right turns etc.
And it looks like the machine from Black Mirror, Metal head episode
I was expect to see an electric motor and a few gears. Great vid though 👍🏻
Очень круто молодец!
4:01 its like side sliding...the feet don't lift off the ground.
Nice video bro

Can I ask for the angle of the triangles? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Thank you so muchh :)
Not Ingles, por favor me podrías enviar las medidas para realizar los dobleses del acero y los ángulos correspondientes. Gracias
That was sooper
Wowwwwow.. Amazing!
It is amazing!
I had made it as my project in my diploma as well as bachelors.
Would it walk along if there was a motor to turn the crank?
High torque motor yes
Hello my name is Muhammad Yasin, I am from Indonesia, can you make a camera tripod from cardboard
Useless but so satisfying!
bruh uno reverse
Useless but really cool 👍
I think it's more convincing if you make it walk on a not smooth surface like a carpet or tar?
Wow amazing!!!
pure genius

Could you make a headphone holder next?
Now add a small DC motor to make it walk
