I mean he’s sold over 4 million DVD’s throughout his career - he held the record at one stage I believe, but I think he’s up there with the most dvd’s made for a comedian I’m sure…
Des O'Connor was an entertainer, he did theatre, he did jokes, he sings and he presented. He passed away in 2020 I have one of his live shows up "An Audience with Des O'Connor - 2001 - FULL SHOW"
That was hilarious, enjoyed it so much, thanks a lot Brad and Lucy for uploading this great video. Always enjoy watching these fab reactions with you! 😊😊
When I was a domestic appliance engineer back in the 80s I repaired Des O'Connors washing machine. He walked in wearing his bath robe and asked if I wanted a coffee. I had the machine learning back and was laying on the floor taking the pump out when he stepped over me. I came out from under the machine with the pump and said "I didn't expect to see two pumps at the same time ". He couldn't stop laughing for ages whilst trying to apologise for the unconventional view I got as he stepped over me. A genuinely down to earth guy who was a famous giggler. 🖖🏽❤🇬🇧
@bobbybigboyyes oh right, it was a company called R S Stevens, very expensive furniture, we sold out of Harrods amongst other places but you would think itv could afford to buy it new, rather than ex display lol
Used to drive a milk tanker near Jeff's home, he was often out walking and always had a cheery wave. When I worked as a control room operator at Launceston police H Q, he would often do a stint at our police club, one night he got so pissed he had to give the money back and re-book! We didn't care, we loved the man.
Jethro had been working small clubs for years a comedian call Jim Davison told Des to get him on his show and things just took off from there he must have been on Des’ show about half a dozen times Des even got him on his early afternoon show Des and Mel. Her reaction was brilliant so funny.
Yay,you've only gone and found another Jethro vid ya legends. Brilliant stuff and Brad your Jethro 'christ' is getting pretty good mate so is Lucy's 'basturrd husband'🤣🤣✌️
Well spotted - on talk shows back then swearing was not allowed - in reality he never used the F or C word? his swearing even by modern standards was mild - he was graphic but not a 'botty mouth' comedian
I do not think he told one original joke ,But Geoffrey Rowe , delivery of old jokes in his altered ego cornish character jethro and his timing is everything, may he rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏
Des O'Connor introduced three or four of America top comedians back to America by going on British TV Des would visit comedy clubs in America and invite them to Britain and put them on his show. When Des had a show on American TV and he was the only British comedian to have two series on a network channel. You will know these guys as America biggest TV chat show hosts ever, that's Des O'Connor. Just look them up, who's who to discover. And you will be surprised Love mom
Awesome guys, I love your reactions to Jethro:) I dont think you have reacted to this clip of Jethro on the Generation Game. I know you did the Dyke dish, but this is a different one of Jethro making a Cornish pasty! ruclips.net/video/M8ftqWapRD8/видео.html Also, I dont know if you ever did react to Jim Davidson's tribute to Jethro at his funeral? ruclips.net/video/3_2zhlQW_VY/видео.html Keep going with the Jethro reactions guys:)
"Jethro on Des & Mel" is about 5 mins long ,again its Des o conner but video quality again so a bit rough but watchable, another short clip but better quality is the" judy spiers" clip but very short at around 2 mins so maybe add it to other clips.but always a good laugh when you both get him on.
As you're big fans of Jethro, and I thank you for doing them as he is someone I have mostly missed down the years here in England but laughed raucously along with you both, I thought you might like watch the Tribute to Jethro by fellow UK comedian Jim Davidson at the service in Truro Cathedral. Jethro died in 2021 having contracted Covid and been battling lymphoma for 2 years. ruclips.net/video/3_2zhlQW_VY/видео.html
Jethro sold more DVDs than any other comedian in the UK. Lovely man & one of the all time greats. Rip ♥️
I believe Peter Kay actually holds that record
Lee Evan’s sold more too
This is objectively not true 😂 which friend drunkenly told you this in the pub?

Yes I remember I passed his stall in Okehampton market in 2006 and asked him for a DVD of Police Academy 5. He said "Sorry you pr*ck, just sold out!"

I have one of his live shows up

Drunk as a mattress is pissed as a mattress!
Des has done all sorts of stuff in the entertainment business: chat shows, singing, game shows etc.
Des O'connor started as a pop singer about 1958 then went on to be a tv personality.
Jethro eulogy at Truro cathedral by Jim Davidson was amazing
You got to listen to the train joke " THE TRAIN DONT STOP ON WEDNESDAY "
Freddie star on the Des O’Connor show was really good.
In the days when you could smoke on the bus. It upstairs on a double decker or at the back on a single deck.

You two would be great on a show.
Des O'Connor Tonight use to be aired about 8pm, so Jethro had to keep it clean and no swearing.
Well spotted - on talk shows back then swearing was not allowed - in reality he never used the F or C word? his swearing even by modern standards was mild - he was graphic but not a 'botty mouth' comedian

Channels where people just react to things other people are doing but not actually doing anything themselves. The internets gone too far now.
Maybe you should get the government to censor us. Then you'll finally be happy.
