I agree with you that this was one of the best styled of the Porche line. You did it justice in this restoration. We had some visitors from the UK this last weekend, so we showed them some of your videos. They became subscribers.
Great restoration, the color choice was Great, however, being a porsche 911 targa the roof section must be painted flat black, it is a renovable section Thanks for sharing
When you said you didn’t know what color to paint it, I thought “metallic blue would be so beautiful”, so I thank you double the beautiful display of your craft...
Hello mate. I am really appreciating and enjoying your videos. In watching this one, you talk about needing spacers for the wheels. I use a very fine piano wire as my axles and then glue black glass jewelry beads as hubs. These same beads could be used as spacers between the chassis and the wheels. Also, to achieve different ride heights, I have used bits of hollow tubing to run the axles through. I hope these ideas help. Keep up the good work! Tschuss!
hi rob ive recently been introduced to siku myself, they have some amazing casting new and old. "im all ears" lol that was a pun without you even knowing, best thing for axle spacers in my opinion is a cotton bud mate the plastic tube type. great content thanks for sharing.
@@MatchboxGarage not sure of the brand but they are blue or pink, only other thing I've used is the red tube off wd40 and dp60 they have a smaller inside and outer diameter if that's what your looking for?
Siku huh...? Never even heard of this toy company till I google them. Very old German Toy Company. Pretty cool stuff! Amazing redo man! keep them coming!
Siku do some lovely trucks, and our german friend will probably know, most are to 1/55th scale i believe, rather than 1/50th.not come across any cars,as yet.good resto by the way.It is a 911 Targa, and the wheels look very BBS,which a fair number of 911 owners fit.
I really like gestures like this. If the model is not needed, it is nice that it goes into the hands of the one who wants it. I'm still hoping for a Corgi model. By the way, beautiful color and details.
Lovely! Never heard of this brand before, but they shine up as well as the others. (Weird about the doors, though. I mean, you would think the Germans of all people...) It made me laugh when, about 20 seconds after I thought, "Oh, nice wheels," you said you didn't like the wheels. Shows you what I know. :) That "Made in West Germany" stamp has nostalgia value for old-timers like me. I've got a screwdriver they gave me at my first job (which was doing telephone tech support for a PC manufacturer, but they gave me a screwdriver, weirdly enough) that says the same, and is, unsurprisingly, by far the nicest screwdriver in my toolbox.
The replacement wheels take the car to the next level .. Also the wheels could use some spacers.. maybe from ball pen refill tubes... And color looks awesome
matchbox no era solo un juguete era una obra de arte, los ingleses si que saben hacer bien las cosas, excelente restauración del porche felicitaciones.
Awesome job on the porche 911, I love how it turned out! I subscribed to your channel recently, and ive been watching your videos, and i love what you do, you have inspired me to try doing what you do. Keep up the great work!
Another fantastic job once again Rob, love the colour and great wheel choice.... i only have 1 siku and its a tiny e-type with pretty much the sames wheels the porsche had. Funky
The blue body and gold rim wheels look great. As far as spacers, four small diameter pieces of silver tubing between the tire hubs and the chassis would work to fill in the gaps and still look like an axle. Don't know if that was already suggested, but to many comments to read to find out...LOL.
Came out beautiful! I love the color and the wheels compliment the color beautifully! The lights look great and ghe way you detailed it really highlights the casting. I don't know whst you could have done with the doors. aside from fill them in. I was kind of hoping there was a broken spring or something... I have never seen a Siku before. Nicely done!
Looks stunning mate I've got a few of these sikus and they are really nice models the wheels being the only thing that let's them down I've just finished restoring an e-type jag and i left the old wheels on because I had no spares I'll be returning to it at a later date I painted it in british racing green rattle can from halfords they are great colours if you fancy giving them a go
as spacers what i use on my cars is the rubber wrap from electrical wires i take the metal wires from inside and i put a little bit in each end of the axles
The nice detailing and the freedom to do a paint job however you like is why I like these customs more than restorations! The original toy makers were thinking on how to cut corners on mass production to make a buck, I see no reason to lower your own standards when you're the one doing the job. Looks much nicer than factory standard! For spacers on the wheels, depends what kinda base you have, how good looking do you want it to end up being, and the amount of time you want to put into it. This is a common method watch?v=Tk0a29JXBbg (you just leave the tube longer and handing out more. But if you have enough material on the side where the axle pokes out of the base, you could glue a "half nut" (any stubby cylinder with thicker walls cut in half vertically will do, can easily make your own with whatever material as long as it glues to the base) since you can glue it wall to wall and extend the base that way. Whichever option you take, once you paint the base, it will look much more natural and hide anything, and it is under the car too, so adding just about anything, honestly, works.
Wow I wish new Siku were still this scale. I have a couple new ones (Bugatti and Apollo), they are painfully big. They are probably 1/50? Shame. This 911 would be welcome in my collection any day. Great job!
Thats one of my fav shades of blue blue is my main fav color and you picked just the right style of wheel for this car people back in the day here in the u.s would put that style wheel on there 911's the wheel was manufactured by bbs and they were used on alot of high end cars like porshe bmw used them as well even specific models of the late 80's and early 90's specialty trans am's the transam firehawks and the gta transams as well
Good old siku... Love these models. I think you need some more...
The brand "siku" was (maybe still is) so strong in Germany that the street carpets/mats we used to play on were called Siku-Carpets
@@olik136 even more expensive than matchbox....
@@olik136 I got hundreds if not over a thousand of them in the attic. Great models, but modern ones really are not that good anymore....

"must be painted flat black" seriously, he does as he wants, it's a custom lol
I agree. And the section directly behind it should be chrome. Doesn't look right to have a targa roof line all one color. Great job though!
Nice clean representation of the 911, no whale tail spoilers, extra lights ect...... Well done !
Looks awesome
When you said you didn’t know what color to paint it, I thought “metallic blue would be so beautiful”, so I thank you double the beautiful display of your craft...
Hi Rob,what a turnaround, from shabby to a new model, nice colour and good choice of wheels, BBS rims, with the details it's awesome.
Awesome, again another super restoration. Your choice of color is spot on!
U must admit I hadn't heard of a Siku until now. It did turn out rather good. So well done 👍
Great job Rob. The 911 is one of my favorite Cars.
That looks awesome Rob , love that metallic blue colour , great restoration 👍

Great job with the Porshe 911 Amazing job with the paint and the wheels look Awesome .My favorite 911 is the turbo with the cool spoler on the back.
Beautiful colour, looks so much better with that cream interior as well.
YET ANOTHER TOP RESTORATION......LOVELY COLOR AND FINISH

Nice work! Love this style of casting. Classic 911.
Great job on the Porsche Rob, love the colour and the wheels! Second custom I've seen on a Siku today, they're pretty nice castings overall.
You are the Bob Ross of the Matchbox world
Using the dan brush to apply some happy decals
Cool car Rob. The Porsche badge on the front look really good on the detailing.
Enjoyable video again rob. Glad you did that wheel change
Good job and congratulations for rescue this piece of collection to someone germanian mark.
