This set is the answer to their old gold bits that were under-sized and cammed out constantly, almost like they were for a different screw standard. This set is for exact US specs now. Very impressive, I'm super happy with my set I've been using for a few months now.
Lukie4ever Bass I want to get the Bosch impact driver so I can share batteries with my drill and jigsaw but I will get the makita bit set as the video just blew me away!

Excellent presentation of an excellent driver/bit set. Cracked me up when Vince just stopped talking.... you know it must be good if Vince just up and stops talking. It was so dramatic. hahhaa
It’s good to see higher quality bits are finally being sold in the US. I’ve been using Japanese and Wera bits for 20 years. Most Japanese tools follow JIS standards along with fasteners. That means the fit is perfect 98% of the time.
I saw this and decided to pick up the 6" #2 phils, I could set 3" brass wood screws upside down, and it would hold my 12v milwackme with a 4ah battery... overall that bit holds way better than the other craps that would keep snapping every time I wanted to set a screw larger than 6"
Yea they make some of the best if not the best imo. Only just to have have more bits I bought another kit after my first one several years ago. They are extremely durable as well.
Broke a Dewalt impact bit two days ago and started to look around for other options. Happen on your video and was very excited about this new Makita XPS. Bought one of their sets today so I could get multiple # 2 XPS bits. Holy cow, they did not disappoint. One of my buddies was also amazed at how well those bits fit in the screws. Thanks so much
Hey, who says you can’t use 3” drywall screws for building construction. I’ve built so many things with those😂 Now I use the T25 wood screws! Much easier!
Bought them few hours ago and the 6 inch adapter actually got what u got in video and was thinking wish Vince had a video on the bits and bam here it is live the channel

NIIIICE! Gotta say I love the Makita Mag Boost bit adapter, have like 11 of them. But I will say after extensive use when your switching bits back and forth the adapter loosens up a bit and I sometimes pull the older adapters off of the bit when removing the bit from the impact driver. Looks like the new ball bearing bit adapter from Makita might solve that problem. Kinda looks like a Dewalt one I have thats been out for a while. Just hope its as magnetic as the mag boost. One of my fav things to do with the mag boost is to dip my boosted #2 bit into my pouch of screws and let the magnetic power of the mag boost pull a nice amount of screws out that I can grab off the bit so I dont have to dig my hand into my pouch poking my fingertips.
Just got a 45 piece xps set for 20 bucks, gonna try them out the week, I've ran through Irwin, millwaukee, Dewalt, off brands and the all slip and strip, ranked worst to best for me for the big names Irwin,Dewalt millwaukee. The Irwin p2 to impacts are junk the strip everything and round at the tips easy same with Dewalt, millwaukee is fairly durable, I've had makita bits in the past so let's see the improvements
@VGC Construction. Wow Vince. An 18V impact driver with a 5AH battery being held by a 6 inch Phillips bit with no magnet is truly amazing! Do you know any other magic tricks? Great review.
dude, I love your personality it makes these videos that much better! I don't know how you didn't mess up not one of those screws when you aggressively onto the 2 x 4 you're a beast!
The magnetic collar is nice...seems to fit snug on the bits. Torx bits seem to wear out the fastest of all bits. They're essentially disposable after driving 6"+ long fasteners.
Hey, I use my 1/4 inch impact driver the way most people would use a half inch impact gun and since I use Milwaukee products, usually my Milwaukee 1/4 impact driver will break the impact bits when I'm tightening or loosening bolts (especially bolts that are tac welded). I understand that I should probably just switch to my 1/2 impact for these situations but it's not always convenient so what I want to know is if there are ANY inpact driver bits that a Milwaukee 1/4 impact driver is NOT CAPABLE of breaking. Idk if that would be a video that you guys would be into making and I doubt that very many people have that problem but it would be absolutely amazing if you were to make such a video. Anyway, I love the channel and now watch pretty much everything you guys put out!
Pretty much any flagship 1/4" will snap any of the impact rated bits these days, provided they're stuck tight and you just open her up full throttle. I've seen plenty from the big 3 and even rigid do it to everything home Depot sells, wera, Mac, and Snap on impact bits. Haven't snapped a wiha Terminator, but I'm sure they would, too. I just started caring more about trashing bits when I started them. Sounds like you're already half expecting this answer, but do yourself a favor and pick up a compact 3/8 with a decent rail of sockets and it'll change your life, no joke. Bought my first one for this same reason- sick of replacing snapped bits. Now I've got 12v 1/4 & 3/8, 20v 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 mid range, and 1/2 high torque lol having that go to gun with zero uncertainty just incomparable.
I'm a small woman and I use powertools a lot around the house Im about to build some new reptile enclosures I'm always looking for tools and tricks to make the work easier and lighter on me I have small hands and some arthritis and I find makita very comfortable and easy to use I recomend them to other women DIY ers because they make durable quality that just makes jobs easier. My impact driver and compact drills are light easy to hold and control.
That really is AMAZING...nerver saw that kind of a tight fit...you should test some WIHA or WERA bits to see if they do that(because they ar better then dewalt milwaukee etc im general) that i would love to see 😊😊
By chance, about a month ago, it was a random Wiha bit I used when I hung (hanged?) the same Makita impact off of a phillips screw to show a friend how bits are supposed to fit. So, depending on the production run, sure. I throw bits out when they don’t hold a screw tight as showcased in this video. It’s my expectation and not novel to these Makita bits. There are exceptions, however. Coincidentally, the Vessel bits that Makita were previously distributing are purposely rounded down in the tumbler with the end goal of them lasting longer. Pretty much the same philosophy as edge tools: the sharper it is, the quicker it loses that edge. I don’t want to knock HD, Lowes, Ace and Menards too hard, but from what I’ve seen, I imagine their buyers muscle the power tool brands to resell cut rate bits that the retailers, in turn, charge way too much for. They tend to stock some excellent consumables in other categories. When I look at the prices at HD on suspect bits...they’re higher than the industrial brands. But yes, Zephyr, Apex, Felo, PB Swiss, Witte, Wiha, Klein, and Wera all do that. However, I’d have to imagine that there’s stuff from Taiwan and China that do just as well. Makita’s getting these from a Taiwanese company. Wiha’s bits come out of their Vietnamese plant now. Wera moved production to Czech Republic ages ago. That makes these fancy German bits as German as Makita. 😂
I like that the drive end of there new nut drivers are straight to the end and dont have the inner edges broke like a traditional socket. Because 99% of the time we are putting screws into the bit and driving them, not serching for screws like like with a normal socket. All other brands need to get with the program
As an electrician, we use a lot of number 2 square fasteners. I am currently using the Milwaukee shockwave bits an honestly they suck. Most of my number 2s are already stripped out. I seriously don't know if it's me or maybe the fasteners them selfs, but damn they suck. I like the sleeve though.
I use alot of p2 self tappers for sheet metal, I tried the Milwaukee bits and as I was driving overhead it cammed out right through my thumb nail, not a good bit, but they are sharp I'll give them that
I've come to the conclusion that my phone listens to my conversations! This video popped up after talking to my cousin about bits, now I went and bought the 35pc set
Vince, can you tell us what the difference is between the Makita impact X and the Makita XPS driver bits? Thank you. Keep up the good work. You guys are doing a great job!
You get what you pay for folks. Simple as that. Yeah its more expensive... But my biggest problem with Makita, is that the stuff I bought 12 years ago, is still working perfectly, so I can't justify replacing it with the new stuff.
@AT VCG CONSTRUCTION Yo that was pretty cool bud But do a small follow up and see if other brands will do that and let us know. Another way to magnetize your bits is the klien or husky magnetizer work in a pinch I did it today mounting screws in a rack

Yea I use dewalt drills but always use makita bits. They are the best imo. Last a really long time. Wish Reds case was as buttery smooth. Red got the Ecx bits though which are amazing imo.
Well I watched your video and enjoyed it and went out and bought me some XPS bits and I agree with everything in your assessments they're awesome until I began removing the old DeWalt and Milwaukee it from the holder on the side of my Makita impact driver and lo and behold do to the fact that Makita shortened the hex part of the bit Shank their own bits will not stay in their own bit holder. I even tried to contact a Makita rep through their website a couple weeks ago but to no avail. Real bummer.
Very impressive. Wasn't expecting that to hold on the long bit like that, and tbh before watching these videos I've never really considered Makita's bits even though I'm a bit of a Makita collector, I've always used Dewalt extreme and Milwaukee. Anyway, they call them Premier bits in Europe as couldn't find XPS here in case anyone else was looking for them. Never the less gonna be getting these even though I haven't the need but will be well prepared for when I get back to work ;)
If you study the footage in slo-mode you will notice the the Makita has super low wobble in the chuck so you ability to drive the faster. Makita in DA HOUSEEEEE
Depends on the screw! Lol I burn through Milwaukee, dewalt, list goes on all my friends who are plumbers and electricians swear by the list above by day in a day out across the board Makita makes the best products. Especially with garage door repairs. I rarely charge my battery too
Nice.... do some 16 gauge track and stud ... Not that i do it any more....but it will test those bits to see how the magnet stays in them... Like the Video Vince... good stuff....

My cordless loadout is Makita. The tools don't take as much out of you after a full day. Well engineered tools and accessories made by an independent tool company (one of very few). I can't even count the torx bits and screws I've dropped and lost. Not anymore with my new bit game.
That is crazy I use Vega Bits and they will not do that. Very cool. Thanks Vince and also I like your choice in gloves. I use the same gloves from the Depo.
Nice! I was also very impressed by the Milwaukee matrix carbide you did a video on. Which are the best in your opinion? The biggest downside on both... they are only releasing these sets in the US, I would love to try them myself.
Vince...I bought some of these Phillips #2 bits from HD and tried them in my impact driver. They are great. Then I made the mistake of trying two of them in my Dewalt drill. Snapped both of the tips before the head of the 3" outdoor screw was fully buried. So I guess I'll go back to the Dewalt bits for my drill and use these only in my impact driver.
Well guess who is going to buy more bits that I don’t need

Wasn't expecting that to hold on the long bit like that, and tbh before watching these videos I've never really considered Makita's bits even though I'm a bit of a Makita collector, I've always used Dewalt extreme and Milwaukee. Anyway, they call them Premier bits in Europe as couldn't find XPS here in case anyone else was looking for them. Never the less gonna be getting these even though I haven't the need but will be well prepared for when I get back to work ;)
I bought these today had a good feeling they were quality. Now I watch this and it confirms my intuition. Good stuff man. Keep up the good vids.
How did they hold up ? How many you broke already?
If you study the footage in slo-mode you will notice the the Makita has super low wobble in the chuck so you ability to drive the faster. Makita in DA HOUSEEEEE
These bits will make an excellent addition to my XDT16 18V!!! Great video.
Welp there goes Vince costing me money again. Great set.
Depends on the screw! Lol I burn through Milwaukee, dewalt, list goes on all my friends who are plumbers and electricians swear by the list above by day in a day out across the board Makita makes the best products. Especially with garage door repairs. I rarely charge my battery too
Hope you guys are having a good evening! Great Video ! Keep up the good work! 🤙🧰🤙
im a makita guy lol and im gald there stepping things up
Wow.... Amazing. I´m sure gonna get that set of bits.
You should!
Nice.... do some 16 gauge track and stud ... Not that i do it any more....but it will test those bits to see how the magnet stays in them... Like the Video Vince... good stuff....
Been up all night with Arthitus and what seems to be the start off corana but thanks Vince ya made me laugh with all the enthusiasm you put into playing with your bits wifes going to let me get some if the virus dont get me first, keep up the good work Guys :). GB
Wow at the impact driver hanging from the 6 inch bit that's nuts
Crazy
Awesome.....its about time😀😀😀thanks for all your vids.
I love your videos 🙏 keep it up, thanks a million!
My cordless loadout is Makita. The tools don't take as much out of you after a full day. Well engineered tools and accessories made by an independent tool company (one of very few). I can't even count the torx bits and screws I've dropped and lost. Not anymore with my new bit game.
I just ordered the kit. They look like the best out there now for sure.
Nice! Can’t wait to see the wall finished 👍
❤️
That is crazy
I use Vega Bits and they will not do that. Very cool.
Thanks Vince and also I like your choice in gloves. I use the same gloves from the Depo.
Thanks Stephen Lee!
just got these couple weeks ago, use it with my bosch impact and I love it
@VCG CONSTRUCTION Another awesome video thank you for all the info and knowledge
I see you finally mastered the special effects software. Makita will be selling millions of bits because people think this is real, lol.
Great show, I love my Makita tools ⚒ ...
