I do have a quick couple of questions. Just as you described in the beginning of your video my picture went out but I still had sound, about 15 minutes later the sound went out also. That's when I first called the cable company and then went on RUclips. Any about 5 hours after all of this started the volume suddenly returned! It scared the hell out of me lol 😁. The picture hasn't come back only the volume. Does this mean anything? Lastly my Vizio is 3 years and 1 month old. I know this because I got the extended 3 year warranty and when I called to check on it I was informed that it had expired 25 days ago. Anyway in your opinion and I'm not going to hold you to this, is it worth fixing this TV ? I'm not handy enough to do it myself and I have no idea how long a TV like this should last. My E65-E1 went out yesterday, the light at the bottom doesn't come on at all when I try to power it up. Tried troubleshooting but no luck. Doesn't seem to be powering up at all. I’ve got a Vizio 50” P502ui-B1. I can get full audio, but no screen. Tried the flashlight test but can’t see anything. When I turn the TV on, the LED whites power indicator at the bottom left will turn on, then fade away. At other times when I power on and try to access the menu, for example (which I can’t do) that LED power indicator will blink on and off for maybe 5-10 seconds and then stop. I’ve tried the soft reset - doesn’t work. Tried the hard reset but challenging to do with the remote without being able to see the screen. Thoughts?
Thank you for this video! We had our Vizio tv start off with the top half of the image darker than the bottom half. Looked on RUclips as decided that some of the LED lights went out. Got quoted $85-200 to replace the lights. Watched video of how to do it on my own and it was a bit much. We just continued to use it as is and adjusted the brightness until we decided on what to do. Now all the lights are out. The power light comes on and fades, and using the flashlight trick we can see there are images scrolling. Should explore the main board going out for an easy fix, or should I assume all the backlights went and go for that? Thank you!

Which one do you think I should change first? Gracias amigo!
the backlights... im like 99 percent sure.. you may think you dont have sound, but it may just be in the wrong input... try this.. power it on and point a flashlight in the center.. you should see a small silhouette of the "V" logo. either way, its gonna be the leds. tcon will usually not show any picture but you will have backlights. @@marv.mon.9845 I'm talking about the Led array behind the panel... So do this. If you turn it on, look at the back of the tv. You should have an optical port for audio. Tell me about it. Check this out. My 2016 p65-c1 went about a month ago, but it was still covered under a squaretrade warranty. They sent a technician out to fix it and he changed the power supply board but it didn't work. So squaretrade decided that the TV was not repairable so they sent me a brand new replacement tv(65" Samsung NU7100). I wasn't satisfied with their decision, so I purchased a main board for my so-called unrepairable Vizio TV. Installed it and the Vizio now works great. Now I have 2 65" TVs. Definitely at least get that warranty for sure.
I get the vizio logo on the screen upon start up but then it just goes black as if it turns off. I can't tell if its really off or not tho. Menu buttons don't bring up any images either. P55 c1. I dont see any images with a flash light. Can you see the image if the TV is off??
I just shook my tv one good time and it worked, granted after several shakes and like several hours. My flat screen is on a swivel stand, and I just kept turning the swivel back and forth and; back and forth; then I shook it one good time and it worked, at least for now. I didn’t have to pull it apart. Turn it off and on a bunch of times. This happens a lot with my tv and all it takes is a good shaking and it works again. So, if that is the case, is it really the LED board, maybe it’s faulty, but it isn’t completely shot!

I also have a 2017 75” 4K vizio smart cast and it did the same turns on with sound but black screen but can also see the background with a flash light ...it’s very dim and pulses between barley visible and dark could it be the light strips or the power board ?
Im not sure. If I were you, try to replace the power board. It's the easiest thing to do. If not then the backlights is your problem.
I have a Vizio 58" model # v585-h11 led smart cast tv and screen all of a sudden went white how to know what's wrong and would it be worth to fix
It’s amazing how many times people trash or give away TVs that just need a new power or t-con board.
Fantastic Thank You, Thank You,.Thank You !
No
I get the vizio logo on the screen upon start up but then it just goes black as if it turns off. I can't tell if its really off or not tho. Menu buttons don't bring up any images either. P55 c1.
I dont see any images with a flash light. Can you see the image if the TV is off??
Where did u order the board?
I'm watching your video in 2024
And I'm replying to your comment at the same time... Thanks for the view!
Great job
I just shook my tv one good time and it worked, granted after several shakes and like several hours. My flat screen is on a swivel stand, and I just kept turning the swivel back and forth and; back and forth; then I shook it one good time and it worked, at least for now. I didn’t have to pull it apart. Turn it off and on a bunch of times. This happens a lot with my tv and all it takes is a good shaking and it works again. So, if that is the case, is it really the LED board, maybe it’s faulty, but it isn’t completely shot!
Probably a bad connection with the LEDs
Is it pretty much the main board that goes out and not the backlights
where did you order the board from
Ebay
Vizio TV good job
Awesome keep up the great work!!!!!
Thanks 🙏
Thanks
My Vizio P-Series is 2 weeks old and won't turn on anymore. Returning and done with Vizio.
Sucks

And yes I liked my own comment
Hello sorry-I live in Azerbaijan, I have a VIZIO 32" SMART TV Model No. E3D320VX I bought it on eBay. It is broken. When I connect the TV, IR indicator starts to connect, then blinks and goes out. And sometimes the TV connects and works well, please help me decide these problems.
I have a vizio m65-Eo and it's in the logo boot loop. Do you think it's the main board??
That is most definitely the main board.
@@TECHIELIFE thanks!
Awesome!!!! Subscribed
Thank you very much, very very much
Hey Diego, I can’t even get the power light to come on and dim down..... it’s not doing anything when I hit the power button. Mine has three boards in it and a small board behind the power button. Any ideas?
That may be the power board is bad. You need to see if your power supply board is outputting voltage
Ty
Mines literally just went out lol 😂☠️
Thanks that's help a lot
thanks for watching.
hope you can help, no one else seems to know. i have a - vizio e3d420vx - and i can not acess the menu screen or the smart tv features on screen. using the remote or the buttons on the side of the tv. it appears for less than a second and then disaappears . any suggestions? thanks
This isbmy problem too brand new t.v.
I’m like 10 years old I saw this video I’m like oh crap I cannot do that I tried to turn on my TV and it worked I was like thank God
Got about 5 years out of it, time for a new one.
I only got two. You got more than most I'd say. At least Black Friday is around the corner.
Wish you were iN Los Angeles same issue with my 55inch vizio.
Do it yourself. Not hard
Nice 👌 were the best place to buy a motherboard
My power went out and it came back and the apps shows up and the remote won’t move but it works to turn off and on but do you think it could the power board ?
No I think that could be the remote maybe? Or maybe the main board.
Are you near Charlotte NC ?
No sorry
I did the same with the flash light seen the no signal sign does this mean I need a power board as well ?
Depends. It's it's the same model, then possibly yes
Had same problem, found some of the LED's were burnt out.
always good a tech makes videos but man folding tables are cheap
Lol. Good idea.
@@TECHIELIFE I swapped power boards and it did the same shit....
Light still went dim
@@Berg803 what is your model number?
@@TECHIELIFE M50-c1... I I'm currently looking at videos trying to see if it's the main board
I swapped out power boards on mines with the same problem and the same result black screen but image with flashlight...any advice
Led backlight. Very annoying to change out. Look up your model number on eBay for prices on how much the strips cost. Sometimes it's only one bad strip gone bad.
@@TECHIELIFE Ok thanks I'll check it out , would it be called LED strip.set ?
is the power board and mother board the same ? My Vizio power light comes on with a sound then shuts right off i have done a factory reset and unplugged and still nothing
They are not the same.. what is your model number?
I did this to my Vizio but it had the same problem a little bit later
Ty I have the same tv and the sane problem
Hey Diego great video. I have a Vizio E65-E1 when I plug it in the power light comes on and the vizio symbol comes up then goes away. You can still see a faint backlight then the tv goes completely off and just keeps running the same cycle. The TV never fully comes on, and ideas? Thanks
I think it would be more related to the main board. Do a search real quick on that model number on eBay and see how much it cost.
@@TECHIELIFE thanks
Hi, I have a vizio e70-c3 mounted on the wall and i am having a problem. I turned it on and I see the vizio logo and then a black screen. It keeps on alternating between the two. I unplugged it, held the power button for 30 seconds, plug the tv back in, but it still doing the same thing. ANY idea whay might be the problem? Thanks
If it flickers, then it's probably the backlights
I have a vizio 4K d50f1 and when I shine the light I can see the tv is on. whats the exact part I need to order and where can I order it from ?
That's kind of hard to tell. I see abunch of sold main boards recently. This could be it. But I think I would replace the power board. Unless the main board is cheaper. If you have to replace the LEDs, then this will be a pain to do is suggest to just resell the tv for parts.
TECHIE LIFE im gonna order the power board is there a way to check if it’s the leds ? I unplugged it for 2 days and plugged it back in and the tv backlight came on but after about 5 mins or so it went back to the black screen ? Does that mean anything?
My Vizio has the exact same problem..little blue blinking light with no screen power, I ordered a power board it arrived today, im at work so I see when I get home, if this works.
UPDATE...It didn't work, immediately went to Walmart ,and Vizio TVS were all on ROLL BACK sale!! I brought a Samsung.
Damn...... same crap just happened to me. Led white light on left corner tums off and on every so often. I tried everything and nothing!!!!! Last resort is your video. Mine is a 55 incher lol also but don’t want to attempt what you done? Cost of mother board?
I just replaced the power supply board and it didn't fix my tv. I got a vizio e series 28" smart tv and when you go to power it on, all it does is flicker for a second before it goes back to a black screen without showing anything before it powers back off. Not sure what could be the issue seeing how it powers off within a few seconds of turning it on!
You probably have bad backlights. Check to see if you can see any thing from the LCD screen.
@@TECHIELIFE It was my backlights that went bad! Thank you again for the help!
Well worth it!!
