@@HEMi.555 I was gonna swap the 3.70 diff from the manual model, into my 2SS manual (3.45), but ppl were saying the Chevy SS diff housing was a lot thinner and weaker, supposedly. Guess I’m sticking to an OEM GM 3.91 rear diff build. 🙂 14-15 SS 1LE rear diff’s are hard to find…

Pro: I'll say this, that Cam is definitely & by far the best sounding cam I've ever heard in an SS. Con's: I'll never understand why people remove the beautiful "SS" rear badging from the trunk when you still have that gigantic ass bowtie on the back. If you're going to remove the "SS" (Which anyone who knows ANYTHING, already knows this is a Chevy SS), needs to take off the ugly gigantic Chevy bowtie as well. No sense "debadging" the ONLY Car Chevy has ever made like this, when everyone knows it's the "Chevrolet SS" unless you plan to remove all the identifying markers on the car, that means; Grill, trunk lid, doors. And at that point why even own an SS, the whole point to this Car being made the way it was by Chevy, was to be a sleek, nonchalant, beastly V8 sedan. They don't paint all over the car Chevrolet, or SS, they did it in a very sleek, well tastefully designed way, so that it's not easily noticeable anyways, but as I've stated, anyone who knows dick about cars, knows this is an "Chevy SS" & isn't going to want to mess around with it in their -300hp cars. 😅😅

However it’s a bit of a stretch to say it was specifically made for the North American market, they put the steering wheel on the other side and put some side marker lights on it essentially. But you have a point, GM is certainly American as is the engine.

Also, it was the perfect alternative to the Dodge Charger for those that wanted a manual transmission. Too bad these voids are empty now, which means purists no longer have an option. This is one of the reasons why the 4-door sedan variant of the Ford Mustang which the CEO has officially considered needs to be produced despite all its controversy.
These cars are cool in concept like everything else Pontiac and GM made from the early 2000s and late 90s but died off just like those cars for the same reason: Sedans and mom coupes driven by 23-26 yr old white women don't need high performance. Its a niche market and with these cars selling for high 40s and upwards of 50k GM can have em all back!
