I kinda think music doesn’t need to be like sports. I can understand baseball players and rating stats and all, but that stuff doesn’t apply to musicians/music. Or at least it shouldn’t IMO
because they are a good band. they don't deserve the insult of being in any way associated with that vile rat nest. no self-respecting music act should. we're still disappointed that Rush accepted; however, they did that only because the fans wanted to stick it to rolling stone magazine. lifeson's speech perfectly expressed what every music fan feels about that hall of so-called fame.
@@robbyjtyler71 Kelly is an ok singer, I'll admit as much as that, but he puts me to sleep after 20 minutes. I could listen to Lou 24/7, though. Even now at 73 he's pretty great.
I was lucky to be at that concert in 78...what a great band...I remember listening to Capitol radio promoting the concert...'Rock in anyone's language'!...great memories..❤
Just heard studio version on radio. Feeling nostalgic looked up live version...... Wow. Lou Graham had great pipes. Love the chorus! Silence..... Then..... ooooooo double vision.... Nice!
I was there at that concert...19 at the time...still get an adrenalin rush when I hear them..good times.Remember listening to the radio promotion on Capital radio... 'Foreigner.. rock in anyones language' how true!
Lou. One of a kind no matter how good the replacement is. He owes ALL his success to Lou. Personal problems notwithstanding Lou Gramm and Foreigner belong in that rotten elitist R&R HOF.
One of my favorite concerts --- August 13, 1978 Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) Front row seats right in front of Ian McDonald (caught a Fender 355 pick he tossed into the crowd) They opened with a black curtain holding back a full stage of fog that rolled over us as the curtain went up and Mick rang out the riff to Long, Long Way From Home, and the light rack over the entire stage elevated upward. One of the best openings ever.
I grew up listening to Foreigner back in the day when I first heard about them and they were popular in the 1970's and I'm lucky enough to be born in the 1970's lol
I've watched this like 100 times and never noticed til now LOL! Looks like Mick and Al...one doing the other's keyboard section or something. Happy to be mezmorized by Lou!
THIS IS Freakin Amazing!! AS good as the studio version, hell maybe BETTER than the studio version. What a tight rockin band. Loved those first two albums best.
Here's the deal. The most beautiful women I have seen are NOT in the beauty pageants. So the "best" overall rock n roll bands are not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Lame. You know kissing ass to get nominated ain't even right! Rebellion is what makes rock n roll right! It's a compliment to those bands not to be elected in my opinion. If you are...super-duper party scooper! If not...congratulations...you are a genuine example of true music. We Love you! 😮
They were great young carefree days..so many great bands around at that time...Rock heaven....great live performance.....after seeing this...wouldn't you just rush out to buy the album....
Only bad thing I can say about this is that you barely see Ed or Ian at least until the very end of the video. Always wanted to know what parts and was playing in the song live.
Virtuoso-level Rock singing. Huge vocal influence on me.
Lou Gramm Live Sounds Exactly like the Recording! Amazing! That’s how Great a Vocalist he is!
D RolyPolyMan he really is fantastic.
Lou has a unique voice. Very different. Very cool !
One of the best rock singers ever
Nothing can replace the original monster line-up of Foreigner.
This original band lineup had lightning in a bottle...this is awesome!
That's because they had Lou Graham, this new guy sucks.

Why on earth isn't this band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame????
Not commercial enough...
They deserve it for sure, but music shouldn’t be like sports anyway.

The hall is a crap organization that's why. Bon Jovi is in but bad company isn't for ex.

Perfect all around. But, Lou Gramm singing is out of this world.
Lou lofting around that high B at pure ease just like Steve Walsh. One of the best hard singers on earth in his prime!
Joe Lynn Turner?
Lou Gramm is the absolute best lead they ever had!
He had and apparently still has a great voice and range. Thanks Foreigner. Great band.
Kelly Hanson blows him away in my opinion but he is the original so I get why you said that
@@robbyjtyler71 Kelly doesn't come close imo. Technically he is good tho and sounds good, but kinda bland
@@robbyjtyler71 Kelly can not come close to Lou's magnificent voice, or charisma, or energy.

These guys were all original band members. Wonder if the keyboard player was having sound problems at 01:35?
