nuclear battery that can power your phone for 50 years.
Power can be produced by the nuclear battery for 50 years without the need to charge. Beta Volt, a Chinese company, claims that its battery can power smartphones that never require charging and drones that can fly indefinitely.
Beijing-based beta volt placed 63 nuclear isotopes into a module equal to a coin, similar to a button cell. They are moving towards the direct conversion of nuclear energy into electrical energy on miniature sizes.
Their first beta-volt nuclear battery can deliver 100 microwatts of power and a voltage of 3 volts. However, it plans to produce a battery with 1 watt of power by 2025. A 100 microwatt is actually very low power, only enough for digital watches, pacemakers, and other small devices. It cannot run a mobile phone unless it is used in series.
Due to its layered design, it will not catch fire or explode in response to sudden force. Beta volt claims to be capable of working in temperatures ranging from minus 60 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius.
The atomic energy battery developed by Beta Volt is absolutely safe, has no external radiation, and is suitable for use in medical devices.
Nuclear energy batteries are designed to be environmentally friendly. After the decay period, the 63 isotope turns into a stable copper isotope, which is non-radioactive and does not pose any threat or pollution to the environment.

I don't see how that would actually work

This technology is already employed in Peacemakers. Not a new one but this battery has a very small size, that's why it is getting attention.
      Thanks.
we appreciate your spend some time here.

A cell ,as this is not a battery, isn't useful for mobile phones if it can't be moved from one phone to another, as there's no phone that lasts 50 years.

it has only a power of 100 micro watts. can't power a phone unless used in series, which will increase safety concerns. Beta volts says thay will come up with one that can run a phone by 2025.
      thanks for your time.
      we appreciate it.

    Nuclear and no radiation. How?

The beta particle (electrons) low energy in Mega electron volts can be stop by a thin layer of aluminium. That is the physics.
      Thanks for your time.

It's a good start, we'll wait until one version is released that allows you to charge mobile phones. I think this is genius, hopefully the 2nd version will be for WW3

A 0.5 w might be enough for a bluetooth mouse. And a lower one might work pretty we for a bluetooth keyboard. Even if assisted by a battery rechqrged by a nuke when not in use.
This could be used as well with aaa and aa rechargeable batteries. Part of the body is nuke and a secondary part is an exchsngeabke Li or graphen battery. If they manage to create a 100 mWh nuke section with a 1 wh Li battery. The Pi may manage to charge the rechargeable 1 wh section in 11 several hours while not in use. And depending on the actual consumption of the device it might keep it ruining as long as the Li section is still working, and then a replacement would be bought.

Come to think of it. Considering that I change TV controller battery once every 2-3 years with two of these 100 microw inside, the controller could make a Li battery run for as long as it works. I still believe the aaa battery system would be better, considering the nuke battery will last much much more than the device itself. .

Spend graphen would still be better than lotion for this. Graphen would last at least 4x cycles over lithium.

Nuclear-powered cardiac pacemakers were manufactured by many companies. If one of the following manufacturer names appears on the device, it may contain radioactive material: ARCO (Perma-grain), Medtronic (Laurens-Alcatel), Gulf General Atomic, Cordis (Telektronic, Accuffix), American Optical, Biocontrol Technology (Coratomic), and Medical Devices, Inc (MDI).
