Is anybody from the black and ethnic minority really surprised by Danny Baker actions. Racism is our daily lived experience. Danny Baker knew what he was doing and for maximum effect. Now he is pleading ignorance. What he did not expect is to be sacked. In addition of course the majority of the panel would defend Danny 's actions as they to are white with the same mindset. Words like accidental, nice guy, he did not mean it. Is unacceptable for a man who had been under the radar for years, but decided to raise his head above the pulpit and show his true colours. One down many more to go.
Are we going to talk about how Afua, a black woman, has been labelled as angry in the description box. Is Sky News really labelling her as "the angry black woman crying racism." Shame on them
The fact that the black woman was able to keep her stance on this while being outnumbered. She was calm and got her point across and the fact that the white woman kept trynna interrupt her smd y'all never learn.
2:31as quoted “yes the action was racist, but he didn’t mean to be racist” What that’s like me punching someone in the face for no reason and saying Yes my action was violent but I’m not violent. For very educated people they sound dumb. And great job to the only black women there who took a stand.
As someone employed using the money of the tv license payers, Danny Baker's action was inappropriate and he exhibited a racist trait. However, it won't be long before his cronies get him another job.
An accident may be a slip of a tongue, but Danny Baker went looking for that photo and uploaded it and during that time he must have known what he was doing. He lived through the civil rights movements and riots in the UK.So he knows what racism is and he knew what he was doing
It's funny how they are choosing to have this discussion about Danny's intentions rather than the actual offense. Because no matter how egregious and blatant an offence is, intention can be argued both ways. But the problem with arguing about intentions is it requires that a person be clairvoyant. No one can look into Danny's heart and say what he was thinking when he made that post. His actions, regardless of his intentions, were racist and he should have known better.
“ I AM NOT INTERESTED IN HIM”... lol, facts... when that girl “ Carol” asked about the sacking I was like ... if that was me being asked I would have said “ I don’t care” and then Afua comes with this.... Well done
This panel is the perfect example of the society we live in, as it is clear they are closing their eyes to the obvious. These people are educated, no excuse for such ignorance!!
Danny's defence statement was implausible, and unconvincing. I believe his intentions were mischievous and insulting. Anyone who has come out in support of him must have dodgy values themselves.
tarok Mann the thing is he got punched in the face by a white english racist not too long ago but he still capes for massa - intriguing to say the least!
Most of us do not know him personally, so we can only judge him by his actions. If Danny Baker is not racist, this is not the behaviour we’d expect from him, on the other hand, if he is racist, this is exactly what we’d expect. This being the case, how can we get to a place where we say, oh he was only joking, or it was just a stupid mistake?... oh!, because he said so... well, what exactly do we expect him to say? 🤷🏽♂️

People like Majid Nawaz are the reason why I don't subscribe to the use of labels like 'POC' and 'BAME' because non-black ethnic minorities have proved time and time again to enable and excuse anti-blackness.
Are they seriously trying to claim that comparing a mixed race baby to a chimp was accidental racism!?!? What? Wow, these people have got some balls on them.
Just to give some context... Danny Baker had already been doing a popular radio segment for many years called "Monkeys Dressed As Famous People". He played vaudevillian fairground music and announced the names of famous people, and the listener was left to imagine a monkey dressed as that famous person (This was a riff on the fact that monkeys dressed as famous people had once been a very popular source of humour a hundred or so years before). Like most things Baker did, it sounds very odd to describe, but was actually very funny. This tweet was a direct reference to that radio segment - It didn't just come out of nowhere. Although obviously very ill-judged on this occasion (to put it mildly), it makes more sense within this context. Certainly a lot more sense than to assume he suddenly lost his mind and decided to post racism of the most vile sort all over his own twitter account.

There doesn't need to be a black person at the table. Afua has endured racism for being mixed race. Maajid has also endured racism that's been physical on a number of occasions. Having a full black person on doesn't guarantee they`d agree with your narrative.
Afua , by her own words and defines herself as “black” .....” I am the only black person here “ , “ I am the only black female here “........
@@poohbear69muckycow Yes, she does. But that doesn't take away the fact she's mixed race.
sambucca18
The point here is not whether she is mixed race , dual heritage or not , as she could be and identify more with the white side ( I am assuming that this is the other half ) .
When she makes her comments attesting to the fact that she has suffered racism this will be from the “ black conscience “...... the side she identifies with or has chosen to identify with ....its more than just how she appears to .... it’s a damn sight more .
My original comment was in response to “ Well Actually “ comment which I felt was separatist as opposed to inclusive ......
Because whites don't want to be educated about their own barbarism so they rig the odds while pretending to debate.
3:06 ...that’s Meghan’s what’s it’s baby...” What’s the it mean 😷😳Also he goes on to say immediately after that when someone pointed out to him it was Meghan’s baby that he was like oh my god but that goes against the proposed notion that he didn’t know who she was, so why would he know immediately after the event that what he’d done was stupid...
This is so shocking.....
Cassia maximen not shocking at all.
It is sad
Is anybody from the black and ethnic minority really surprised by Danny Baker actions. Racism is our daily lived experience. Danny Baker knew what he was doing and for maximum effect. Now he is pleading ignorance. What he did not expect is to be sacked. In addition of course the majority of the panel would defend Danny 's actions as they to are white with the same mindset. Words like accidental, nice guy, he did not mean it. Is unacceptable for a man who had been under the radar for years, but decided to raise his head above the pulpit and show his true colours. One down many more to go.
Biggup Afua!
Poor danny baker...boo hoo hoo...give me a friggin break!!!!!
How do we know he didn’t mean it how can he not know. It’s. bollocks
Afua! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
2:31as quoted “yes the action was racist, but he didn’t mean to be racist”
What that’s like me punching someone in the face for no reason and saying Yes my action was violent but I’m not violent.
For very educated people they sound dumb.
And great job to the only black women there who took a stand.
Gregg has surprised me today
It didn't surprise me sadly
He always talking about diversity and inclusion but isn’t sure if this is racism.
Sympathy for Danny Baker??? Really????
Pathetic!!!!
The baby was introduced to racism before even trying apple juice 😔😩
Defending racism. Britain still has a long way to go!
Aufa honestly did an amazing job. She is soooo right and on point.
Love how everyone's talking at her and not letting her speak. What't the point, they've already made their minds up.
This made me cry...ridiculous how they tried to make excuses for his behavior...
Absolutely ridiculous , this is clearly racist. I love her reaction brilliant, speak truth to ridiculousness, and then don't speak
Danny's defence statement was implausible, and unconvincing. I believe his intentions were mischievous and insulting. Anyone who has come out in support of him must have dodgy values themselves.
I’m living it right now in this conversation.
Spot the coconut
tarok Mann the thing is he got punched in the face by a white english racist not too long ago but he still capes for massa - intriguing to say the least!
The classic "It it isn't about me, I do not give a damn".
I want to know what they said after. How else did they perpetrate the point she made?
How could that not be intentional racism?
Most of us do not know him personally, so we can only judge him by his actions. If Danny Baker is not racist, this is not the behaviour we’d expect from him, on the other hand, if he is racist, this is exactly what we’d expect. This being the case, how can we get to a place where we say, oh he was only joking, or it was just a stupid mistake?... oh!, because he said so... well, what exactly do we expect him to say? 🤷🏽♂️
Hmm.. because he's not showed any form of racism in 30+ years of his career? Because his intent was to poke fun at the media.
@@sambucca1817 that we know of. On that basis you'd probably be defending Ron Atkinson for his racist outburst. But anyone who has the N word in their vocabulary shows EXACTLY who they are.
I'm actually shocked by this debate because it's not even a debate ! His actions regardless of intent was racist and so he should be sacked ! End of.
So what makes someone racist then?
Like comparing them to an animal?
@4:56 that face says, "I couldn't care less. I'm not even trying to understand." Black people, stop trying to get people like that to care, they never will.
The Indian guy cannot compare his situation to a black person. Because many in his group treat black people badly as well. His dismissive attitude in this situation is not surprising.
If he made a so called unintentional anti-semantic joke would his firing be debated
This is why Meghan left. Example
Number 1 racism
Is that really how he decided to start the show?????
Go off sis!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Blatant racism! I'm glad he got fired. So ignorant and rude and these people around her defending Danny make my stomach turn😡😡
Afua isn't wrong. I've seen so much racism in fifa online with player creations and character and team names. I've seen it in many online games, in football chants.
Alright Anita, calm down.
I’m exhausted for Afua.
I am astonished that majid has made utterances that I actually agree with.
Sometimes being stupid is a crime...
I really appreciate Afua’s honesty here, i don’t always agree with what she says but she really touched me on this, racism like
this is unacceptable in today’s society
This is why RACISM may never end
Does the same apply to anti-Semitism. ?
Fire the whole panel except that black lady. She was the only one not defending racism.
Prime example based on this panel.
Racists justifying racism. And we're surprised because?
People like Majid Nawaz are the reason why I don't subscribe to the use of labels like 'POC' and 'BAME' because non-black ethnic minorities have proved time and time again to enable and excuse anti-blackness.
The baby is 1/4 black that just enough to make his hair curly but he still face racism waa
Maajid Nawaz shows that there's always a model minority willing to cape for the away team. SMDH🤦🏾♂️
She was on point..
Danny baker needs the same milkshake as Nigel...can't wait till baby Archie is old enough to defend himself
Ummm.... what happened to taking responsibility for your actions? Even if it was a "mistake"
racism is not a personality trait. racist behaviour is what defines a racist person.
Britain is like one big playground with Adults running, crying to the teacher when something upsets them .PATHETIC!
@TheActivistBook "Waycists "! The only word half witted idiots like use.
Certainly a lot more sense than to assume he suddenly lost his mind and decided to post racism of the most vile sort all over his own twitter account.
shes not 'angry'....
Emotion shouldn't be of bearing here!
Exactly. So why is Greg Dyke's emotional relationship with the racist of any relevance?
Danny was racist, defending it is what I find shocking.
Victims! Victims everywhere.
Chiiiiiillllleeeee the BS is overwhelming
