    Hi I'm thinking of buying a 97 MK1 Thunderbird Sport. I've heard about sprag clutch problems on them.
    Could you tell me which years they had the access panel up top. Thanks.

      Hi there, I believe the the thunderbird sport all had the engine with no access panel.
      The biggest cause of the sprag failing is trying to start the bike with a weak battery, if you alway have a staring or fully charged battery, you should never have this issue.
